THE INDEPENDENT - Mon, Mar 7, 2016 Think that if you are liberal you should vote to stay in the EU? Think again Here's a voice from the past. So with a heavy heart, in the upcoming referendum, Paul Keetch former Lib Dem MP, will vote to leave the EU and join with other party members and supporters to set up the Liberal Leave campaign group. He does this not in spite of being a liberal, but because he is a liberal. "As a former Lib Dem MP, I know that the EU we have now is not the one we fought for" Still no news from Jesse?

THE GUARDIAN - Mon, Mar 7, 2016 The EU referendum: a guide to the UK's biggest political decision of the century Britain faces a huge decision on 23 June. We answer all your questions, including what to do if you’ll be at Glastonbury Let’s start with the basics: what is the referendum question and when is the referendum? Why are we having a referendum? OK, but why are we having a referendum now? What did David Cameron ask the EU to change in his negotiations? And what did he actually get? Which politicians and public figures want to stay in the EU? Who is your typical ‘remainiac’? Which politicians and public figures want to leave? Who is your typical Brexit-er? How will the campaign work? So who are the groups who could be in charge of campaigning? Has the campaign started? Can EU citizens living in the UK vote in the referendum? How can I vote? And can I vote if I’m on holiday? When will we know the results and how are they counted? What happens after the vote? Will Cameron resign if the out campaign wins? Is there any way the vote result could not be binding? and more questions by commentators under the article.

Shabby treatment by this disgusting government
megilleland replied to megilleland's topic in Open Forum
Myrtle Cothill is being allowed to stay. So there is some humanity in this Tory governmet. -
Maybe they can track and trace the owners of dog mess left on open spaces and verges around Newton Farm estate. Match up the DNA of the poo with the microchip details. The council would make a fortune in fines!

Plenty of litter down Great Western Way, especially at Belmont Road Bridge, most of which appears to be waste from the building development. Also the section of path from Penhaligon Way (where the Bulmers railway sidings crosses) to Widemarsh Common. All the litter between the back of Charles Witts Avenue and GWW, reported originally 23rd Februray 2011, is still there - this area to soon be declared an area of special scientific importance for studying detritus and wastes effect on the environment. Also mentioned here.

Did Mr Lloyd follows this avenue up?
-
Yes she has been briefed not to bother as there is so much rubbish in Hereford and the surrounding countryside. Best to give it a miss.

A lot of people are saying that no one is telling us what the UK would be like after Brexit. All political parties, except UKIP, want us to stay in. This documentary goes some way to make things a bit clearer on possible outcomes. Comparison of potential markets (Wikipedia) The EU covers over 4 million km² and has 503 million inhabitants — the world’s third largest population after China and India. By surface area, France is the biggest EU country and Malta the smallest. The Commonwealth covers almost a quarter of the world land area and spans all six inhabited continents. With an estimated population of 2.328 billion, near a third of the world population.

Brian Gerrish from UK Column News has interviewed the father of the boy who was viewing "politically incorrect websites" It does look like the state has an agenda of snooping on us. Interview starts at 6:55 and ends at 29:00 on programme that went out on 29th February 2016.

From Herefordshire Council News What is suitable collection. Does the waste have to be by Royal Appointment. We have a waste bin in Muir Close where people are fly tipping waste in carrier bags by leaving them by the bin, yet Balfour Beatty are not removing the waste when emptying the bin, but leaving it alongside the bin. It has been there now for 3 weeks. I also do not see much impact on the environment by the Housing Associations judging by the level of fly tipping in the area.

The Independent today: So who is going to spy on the government and will they be selling our web history to anyone including the FBI?

and Anyone going out twice to pick up litter? The state of the city and rural highways has deteriorated badly. Travelled today to Ross on Wye along the A49 and what a state the verges are in - a disgrace. So will the Highways Agency and Herefordshire Housing be doing their bit along with Balfour Beatty or will it only be the plebs doffing their caps and waving their black plastic bin bags as Her Majesty glides past? I think she needs to come down to Herefordshire to see the variety of detritus we have on offer.

I hear he has been baled following this incident.
-
From jesse4Hereford: At least he appears more honest than Cameron about the situation.
-
No we have been done in a deal.
-
Looks like he is going to implode at any moment. Are you going to tell me all 28 member countries are going to go along with him. Its bad enough to get the family to agree what we are going to do today!

URGENT: Home Office to deport 92-year-old Myrtle on Tuesday! Maybe she should seek asylum on the grounds that the British Government is putting her life at risk? Plenty of other people can just arrive here and bring in their relatives.

Watching local TV tonight and Staffordshire has twice as many farms as Herefordshire, but they are keeping theirs. The public should petition Herefordshire Council to hold a referendum to change to a different form of governance (commitee) in view that the present system (cabinet) does not properly reflect the views of many of its electors and council tax payers. The present handling of the sale of council farms deserves a show of no confidence in the cabinet system which brought about this decision.

Meadow Park Housing Development - Survey Results
megilleland replied to Meadowparkresidents's topic in Planning
Front gardens are usually the first thing to go in order to park cars literally on your door step. Dig it all up and cover it in tons of gravel - very imaginative. Think of the time saved each morning when you can step out of the front door into your mobile living room. Oh, there are garages, but few people will use them for cars. They usually fill them up with stored items when their attics are full. -
Yes it seems politicians of all parties locally and nationally are hell bent in selling the county and country's assets to the highest bidder. The position of farming in the UK from the Corporate Watch website contains a mass of interesting and hard facts. Maybe our councillors and politicians should wise up to the reality of their actions. Or turning good agricultural land into red brick housing estates for financial gain. Those living in rural Herefordshire have to drive miles to get their shopping. I deliver post to rural communities, and delivering all day, come across no local shops or services whatsoever. As Jennifer Weiner said "Whenever people with money have power over people with less money, you have the potential for exploitation". However what is worse is when those organisations and corporations exploiting us do so using our own money and taxes we are totally ripped off.
