Came across this today. Is this a separate church to the Freedom Church or are they linked?

Herefordshire Council Newsroom: She must be joking. By 2020 if were are not out of the EU, Herefordshire Council will be an unmanned, single room outpost controlled from Brussels.

Came across this reader's comment on Brexit in The Guardian today - made me chuckle. German poll finds one in three firms would leave UK after Brexit Bertelsmann Foundation’s survey of 700 British and German firms finds 29% would cut capacity or relocate with 80% firmly behind UK staying in the EU

Here is the link to the original discussion about a Velodrome in Hereford. I think a Velodrome would be a great opportunity and would highlight Hereford as a cycling centre. Without it the cycle track would become just another dog walking area.

Lots of driving information here: The Institute of Advanced Motorists Holding back the gears: The ageing process and driver safety 2012 As life expectancy rises, the number of older people in the UK is set to rapidly increase. In twenty years, one in ten people will be over 80 years old and the number of people over 100 will have increased by 475 per cent. Responding to an older population will become a significant policy issue for transport; a much larger number of people are now requiring help with their mobility and more older people are driving than ever before. Download the IAM summary Keeping Older Drivers Safe and Mobile: A Survey of Older Drivers 2015 The number of drivers over the age of 70 will double over the next 20 years and there are now over one million licence holders over the age of 80. Enlightened policies and practical actions are needed now to help them keep safe and competently mobile for as long as possible, and to help them decide when the time has come to stop driving. Giving up driving too early places a direct burden on health and other services which can no longer be independently accessed. But, what do older drivers themselves think about the policy agenda and what plans are they making for their future on the road? This study seeks to answer these questions and to give older drivers a voice in this important debate. As well as giving new insights into their views on testing and assessment the report also shows the key role that medical professionals must play in informing people about their options for safe mobility. The IAM believes this report provides useful background information to allow government, insurers, health professionals and car makers to work in partnership with us to ensure that older drivers can remain safely in the driving seat for as long as possible. Asset transfer and stripping for the public good?

Asset stripping to fund new council premises and more money to be spent on ivory towers. -
Post 117 posted in wrong place apologies! I wanted to draw attention to: So the council think a cosy chat will resolve these people's futures.

The Guardian 7th January 2016 So if we came out of the EU we could become attractive to companies which would not want to open their tax affairs. Would these companies not be able to trade in the EU if they fail to pay their taxes? It's alright asking them to open their tax arrangements with EU governments for full public scrutiny, but what will be the penalties if they don't, especially as the US isn't a member of the EU.

Post 9 (Hereford High Town fire damaged shops could open in 2012) seemed pretty optimistic so will we be any nearer by July 2016?

Going East? Here's a way to get across the Lugg Meadows with the minimum of disruption of the landscape. I am sure the UK could build a smaller version of this to work here.

Appears Osmosis doesn't like us pasting what interests us and maybe others. Strange because through the process of osmosis you can learn and understand things gradually without much effort. Let's lighten up on this subject or as Richard E. Byrd said: I enjoyed pasting this!

"It has just been revealed that the UK was forced to pay €8 million to Eurotunnel for costs incurred preventing migrants entering the UK between 1999 and 2002" Seems to me pretty clear that the burden of preventing illegal entry of migrants appeared to be a good reason for Eurotunnel to sue the UK within the rules of a secret tribunal where they know the rules and we don't. Also the figures quoted are for just 3 years - 15 years ago. So unless things at the tunnel have been tightened up that figure can only be at least 5 times as big at around €40,000,000 to date with more and more illegals waiting to take their chance. Cut and pasting articles which catch my attention and may be of interest to others widens the debate, especially if you read the comments under these articles by other members of the public - a good cross section of opinions. As the referendum will decide whether we are in or are we out, I am sure a lot of people will not be reading the small print.

The Independent - 3rd February 2016 Maybe employees will be able to sue their employers for loss of earnings when made redundant? I doubt it.

Immigration affects our economics - the two are linked. All these services and handouts don't come out of thin air. Interesting to see some countries now wish to expel "refugees" in vast numbers. I can see while Cameron is fiddling around with the EU all these countries will have closed their borders and there is only one place they will be heading for.

Just had a look at Hereford Live. Interesting to see Bill Tanner delving into the council's affairs and writing stories with detail which do not make it into the Hereford Times. Herefordshire Council needs more in committed cash reserves to cover on-going legal costs

The flow towards Europe Europe is experiencing the biggest refugee crisis since World War II. Based on data from the United Nations, we clarify the scale of the crisis. A very clear indication of how this crisis is developing.

Some say Brexit would harm the UK economy primarily by reducing trade with EU countries. Leaving the EU would also prevent the UK from benefiting from future free trade agreements negotiated by the EU, such as the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership currently being negotiated with the United States. This alone is one reason for coming out and not being part of a great commercial stitch up. The problem is there are so many things going on the public can't focus on more than one issue a week - eg a tree leaning over in Belmont!
