  2. How is this camera going to see under the bridge where the attacks took place? Is there going to be more than one camera?
  3. Are we going to see more abandoned properties in UK? These two articles published this weekend highlight the result of people not realsing that interest only mortgages are only that and they still need to pay off the initial loan, and that by people walking away or being evicted, the properties get sold to "investors" who do not live in them and they rot away. and Shelter has found that there are 279,000 long-term privately owned empty homes in England, a real waste of housing when there are so many homeless families looking for somewhere to live. Herefordshire Empty Property Strategy 2013 - 2016 Empty properties We can offer advice and information to owners of empty properties and there is information regarding enforcement action, for extreme cases where properties are left unoccupied for a prolonged time and in a poor state of repair, and where owners are unwilling to deal with them. Follow our Empty Property Pathway tool here, to see where and how to get advice and help.
  4. Nicholas Watt Chief political correspondent - The Guardian Friday 31 July 2015 When does this come into effect. Obviously a good time to go is now, before it becomes law. The government's Consultation on a Public Sector Exit Payment Cap although now closed (July 27th 2015) gives a lot of detail into the past dealings and means of getting such high payments.
  5. I saw him the other day. He tells me matters are being pursued. Maybe Stilton can bring us up to date. He seems to be in the know from sources close to him.
  6. After reading this piece from UK Column - The “Section 151 Officer†Council Tax and Fraudulent Accounting it clarifies why the Council has £110 million in unusable reserves and only £41 million in usable reserves. Time for another council tax rise to swell the coffers.
  7. ROSE TROUP BUCHANAN The Independent - Thursday 03 September 2015 Anyone used this?
  8. This proposal if approved will make poly tunnels in AONBs and the surrounding countryside seem quite quaint. Remember the water contamination in Lancashire coincidently happened in a fracking area.
  9. The Saracen's Head planning application can be seen here (post 107):
  10. So the signing is illegal.
  11. Received this response to an e-mail I sent to the council: This has clarified the situation, maybe they should inform the local police.

  13. This doesn't sound good. The Guardian today: Police force could lose 22,000 jobs under new spending cuts Major reduction in funding could see number of police officers in England and Wales fall to 40-year low One chief said the cuts would mean fewer officers and a dramatic pruning back of neighbourhood policing and proactive prevention work which stops crime levels rising.
  14. This is what happens when the British government is taken to arbritation by one corporation - the British taxpayer is £185 million worse off. Ironically this was in border control systems which the corporation failed to implement due to significant delays and missed targets. This result was achieved by the British government after appealing. After TIPP there will be no appeal.
  15. Research by the Money Advice Trust, the charity that runs National Debtline and Business Debtline, has revealed that councils in England and Wales referred 2.1 million debts to bailiffs in 2014/15 – up 16% in two years. If you are a local council, we want you to work with us to reduce your use of bailiffs by making sure residents and businesses get the free, early advice they need. If you need help with debt, seek free advice from National Debtline or Business Debtline. 16. Give yourself time to follow this video explaining the purpose of TTIP. "The Death of Democracy" a public talk on the TTIP
  17. Looks as if the same problem was occuring in Bromsgrove way back in 2007.
  18. Traffic regulation orders So was anyone else consulted except the police, did they get any objections, and when was it advertised?
  19. Yes, but has this been brought about legally? When was the Traffic Regulation Order confirmed?
  20. Reminds me of the New York Guardian Angels set up in the 1980s to patrol the subway which was quite seedy and dangerous. They are still going today, but in different form across the States. A bit different to street pastors as seen in Hereford.
  21. 1. Only if it is illegal. This is how the police see it in High Town. 2. Rules for cyclists 64 You MUST NOT cycle on a pavement. Laws HA 1835 sect 72 & R(S)A 1984, sect 129
  22. I took this photo on my way to work. The time exemptions for cyclists has been removed (illegally?). The sign itself is incorrect according to The Highway Code. So in effect are we breaking the law or are the police just taking the law into their own hands? I know the subject is sensitive because a woman was killed here by a stupid idiot on a bike, but that shouldn't mean that other considerate cyclists should be banned because of one person's behaviour. After all people get killed on roads and motorways daily, but other motorists are not banned from using the highways after such events. p17 - No motor vehicles p36 - Riding of pedal cycles prohibited p37 - Ridden pedal cycles permitted within the zone. (The hours during which a part-time zone operates will be shown in this panel and exemptions in a lower panel)
  23. The flytipping along the railings has been removed. The refrigerator and the surrounding waste dumped on footpath (post 90) is still there - coming up for four weeks now. How can Herefordshire Housing not see it.
  24. This Hereford City Cycle map appears to explain the situation, although I thought Widemarsh Street was also an exclusion area for cyclists, but not on this map.
  25. That's right Glenda, but was a Traffic Regulation Order made to bring that about and cancel the existing order. I have never seen a public notice in the press and I can't find any TRO on the Council's website. When the policeman pulled me up outside M&S, I had just passed several youths doing wheelies in front of McDonalds.
