  1. Proposed change of use from public house to 3 no. separate houses (domestic)
  2. There are several examples of where Article 4 directions have made to suspend permitted developments in relation to pubs:  In April 2013 Lewisham Council confirmed an Article 4 direction which prevented the Catford Bridge Tavern using permitted development rights to change the use of the pub from Class A4 (drinking establishments) to Class A1 (shop), Class A2 (financial and professional service) or Class A3 (restaurant and cafes).  Camden Council has made two article 4 directions relating to pubs as follows: The Old White Bear PH, Well Road, NW3. Article 4 Direction removing permitted development rights for the following type of work: Change of use to Class A1 (shops), Class A2 (financial and professional services) and Class A3 (restaurant). Article 4 Direction confirmed 22nd May 2014. The Golden Lion PH, Royal College Street, NW1. Article 4 Direction removing permitted development rights for the following type of work: Change of use to Class A1 (shops), Class A2 (financial and professional services) and Class A3 (restaurant); Temporary change of use to Class A1 (shops), Class A2 (financial and professional services), Class A3 (restaurant) and B1(business). Article 4 Direction confirmed 3rd October 2014.  In December 2014 Wandsworth Borough Council made an article 4 direction in respect of the Wheatsheaf public house which removed permitted development rights for change of use (including to supermarkets). Wandsworth Council has also recently consulted on a draft Town Centres Supplementary Planning Document, although not yet formally approved, in it, it sets out the council’s intention to put in place an article 4 direction relating to a number of pubs in the area: Waltham Forest Council also published a draft public houses supplementary planning document in December 2014 which again proposes making an article 4 direction to cover a wide number of pubs across the borough. This has not yet been formally adopted. On 26 January 2015 the Government put forward proposals to provide that the listing of a pub as an “asset of community value†would trigger a temporary removal of the national permitted development rights for the change of use or demolition of those pubs. The change would be made by the introduction of new secondary legislation. The press notice stated: Further information about assets of community value is provided in Library standard note, Assets of Community Value Article 4 directions.pdf Assets of Community Value.pdf Will the council step in?

  4. Count me in greenknight. No you are not talking rubbish - I would put litter at the top of the list as the city is becoming filthier by the day.
  5. Daily Mail, 4 February 2015 Does he mean we can decide where to put the pot holes. No matter how beautiful you build roads, once you put traffic on it, it will be 'brutal, crass and ugly' You are just building to create demand for more car production. I thought the Marches Local Enterprise Partnership were going to tell us where they would be building new roads - any locals on their board other than businessmen?

  7. I think this piece by Robert Reich gives us the future. He predicted way back in 2008 that we were heading for Inequality for All.
  8. Judging by this article in the Daily Mail 2nd February 2015 justice is being tipped on its head.
  9. 03 February 2015 The Independent by Kunal Dutta Another sign of a downward spiral.
  10. Afraid not Stilton. Life continues to inform, shock and amuse. Thanks for the links. I will delve into them at my earliest convenience. "The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who have not got it". (George Bernard Shaw 1856-1950). I think this could apply to either of us regarding this topic. I came across Guy Taylor as I deliver his post in Herefordshire. We have had several discussions which originally stemmed from a council tax demand which automatically added on a court charge which I believed was illegal. I drew this to the attention of our county councillor who made some inquiries following my visit to the local magistrate's court and it was forgotten by the council. Previously back in the 70s we managed to remove the managing agent in a co-ownership housing scheme who was fiddling the books and not passing on money to the tenants, but kept it himself. Much cleverer people than I took the initiative in these matters and in doing so I learnt not to take things at face value. As an individual in today's divided society one is reminded of one's place and not to upsurt authority. After all this is how it has been done for ages - Poor people pay taxes, rich people make laws. In my 60's now, I have attended the local magistrates court when Guy Taylor has appeared and if the CPS had a case they could of squashed Guy Taylor years ago, but the whole judicial system seems to be losing its creditability. I give him the benefit of the doubt until he is proved wrong. I thought I had an inquiring mind when it came to detail, but your approach beats mine - slightly overwelming. I must try and see it from your point of view, which is of course the opposite to what I do, when watching alternative media ie UK Column.
  11. Well put Bobby. At least you are awake.
  12. Fly me to the Moon and the Court of St James. I always wondered why there was a race to get there. Forget the Fracking just "Drill baby drill" as the article tells us. Seems like a contradiction here with these two bodies - war and peace?
  13. Monday 2 February 2015 in Hereford Times News
  14. Tom Crawford's situation highlighted on Russia Today. Great support from the public. Latest Guy Taylor video with information. Not sure if this has been posted in this form
  15. What is TTIP? And six reasons why the answer should scare you The trade negotiations are an assault on democracy. I would vote against them except… hang on a minute, I can’t Robert Reich is the sort of man we need in Politics never full of bullsh!t, just straight forward information. A great website spells it out as it is. Meanwhile the same thing is being created in USA regarding Asiatic trade. The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is the largest--and worst--trade deal you've never heard of and Republicans in Congress want to work with the Obama administration to "fast track" its passage. Looks like the corporations are going to stitch us up full time.
  16. Hello, hello, hello Stilton Cheesewright welcome back. Stilton Cheesewright is a fictional character in a series of humorous short stories and novels by P. G. Wodehouse and used to be a policeman - no link to reality here is there? As a postman I get to meet and chat with all sorts of characters in the Herefordshire countryside. A diverse group of people you could meet - a bit like Hereford Voice. However moving onto the accusations presented: the media reported the frustration of the first eviction attempt by 200"strangers" From what I remember the action of 200 interested parties prevented the eviction of Mr Crawford. The lack of mainstream media was very apparent. an interest in the wider "lawful rebellion" movement and the machinations of the "Get Out Of Debt Free" website It sounds as if you already had a negative attitude towards these groups . Do you feel threatened by them? but unfortunately they also tempt people in desperate situations to believe there is an easy way out Could easily have referred to loan sharks and misselling of products by the banks It's understandable that many people have a deep distrust of banks etc I am not surprised. All sections of society are now threatened with the seizure of assets by the government using its judicial administration on the instructions of the banks/financial institutions and aided by main stream media. At least that is how I see it. I'd like to think I can encourage people to think twice about the "information" offered by the "truth movement", "sovereign citizens", "freemen on the land" I have been thinking for years about alternative approaches. So you think or know that any information offered by an alternative source or body is not worthy of consideration and attention. The present system seems to suit you down to the ground - does it? A big problem in this country is that many people do not question the status quo or remember the broken promises from all political parties. Even the Tories wiped their election promises form their website once they got into power. So you won't be at the British Constitution Group Spring Conference 2015 - The Time For Action? A lot of your friends will be there unless Theresa May bans it as an illegal gathering for inciting change!
  17. After visiting the SLR preferred route exhibition, I can confirm that there is definitely no link between this route and availability of housing land south of River Wye. The road is purely a transport solution to moving traffic from Belmont Road and sending it up Ross Road to the Belmont roundabout where it will cross the river as normal and also send it onto to the Rotherwas Enterprise Zone where it will come to a standstill. All for £25 million pounds - it doesn't make sense. I was given this information from the council staff and consultants who were in attendance. Do I believe this?
  18. I notice that one of these flats is on the market and the service charge quoted is £50 a month. Obviously doesn't cover waste removal and keeping the common parts clean and tidy. And to think you are paying council tax as well - a marvellous service from the managing agents and council's viewpoint - take the money and run.
  19. Worth watching Paul, people are realising that standing up to "unlawful authority" can prevent your home from being confiscated by a bunch of morons acting on behalf of financial institutions. Iceland was one country that took on the banks and jailed several chief executives for acting improperly. Former Landsbanki boss Sigurjon Arnason was sentenced to 12 months in prison. An Icelandic court found him guilty of market manipulation in the lead up to the 2008 financial crisis. "This sentence is a big surprise to me as I did not nothing wrong," Sigurjon Arnason told Reuters. Is this same excuse that brought attention to the latest bank scam reported in the Daily Mail today. However Mr Cheesewright thinks that these financial cowboys do not owe a duty of care towards their customers and if they get mugged tough luck.
  20. This is a pre-consultation (PR) of a sort before a planning application is submitted after which the public will be able to object and comment on the submitted application. Seems they want to get some idea of the likely response to their scheme, but I think the council's position is similar to the fire station consultation, in that they hope no-one will turn up. It will be a bit late alerting people through the Hereford Times which is published on the day or a day before depending on confirmation of the exhibition date.
  21. The council are so broke that they are considering employing social workers from outside the UK. Why not employ Balfour Beatty to do it they only need to pop round every couple of months to check up on everybody. I am sure they will charge us only a couple of billion quid. On a more serious note here is a document: Social Work Qualifications and Regulation in European Economic Area (EEA)
  22. Bill Tanner working overtime here: Is this proper consultation again. Friday afternoon and evening when people are getting ready for the weekend. A good time to reduce public attendance and interest.
  23. Guardian Reader's comment today Very well put.
  24. Herefordshire Council in crisis article in Hereford Civic Society magazine (winter 2015) Maybe that's why the hoardings are white.
