  1. Following on from post 93, the dustmen have just been and this is the mess that has been left outside peoples' flats in Sherborne Close by the electric sub-station. I am just going to ring Herefordshire Housing to see what they are going to do about it.
  2. December 17th is a mistake. You obviously didn't listen to what he says -you need to stick with it to the end of the interview. The delay is on the part of the CPS refusing to submit the evidence requested by the judge. They were asked to produce the evidence before the judge on November 10th, but because of a cock up at the Magistrates Court, the CPS didn't turn up and there was no judge to make a ruling. Following this Guy Taylor was sent a bundle of CPS documents, none of which were the documents the judge has requested, so Guy Taylor is returning to court on the 3rd December before the same judge to get the case dismissed. Where it goes from there I do not know other than he has private prosecutions against several individuals to follow. Rather than research for yourself what is going on you appear to just want to get to a verdict staright away. I am sure Guy Taylor does, but the police, courts and its officials appear to be putting a lot of obstacles in his way to get this resolved.

  5. Herefordshire Council News 14 November 2014 Bogus caller alert We have received an alert from a member of the public who was contacted by a man ringing from a call centre. He claimed to be ringing on behalf of Herefordshire Council and asked the resident for personal information relating to income and financial status. Please be aware that this is a scam so if you receive such a call, please do not get drawn into providing any information - just put the phone down. The police have been informed.
  6. Parliamentary Television Tuesday 18th November 2014 - 9.45am House of Commons Welsh Affairs Committee - Grimond Room Cross-border health arrangements between England and Wales Witnesses Welsh NHS Confederation, Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, and Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board; Jesse Norman MP and Action4OurCare. Be interesting to hear what JN says at this committee. In Question Time (29:38 mins) last week Welsh First Minister, Carwyn Jones said that Hereford Hospital wouldn't function without the number of Welsh patients who use it. Cameron also quoted as saying that Offa's Dyke is the line between Life and Death.
  7. Santa won't be coming to the Old Market. It costs too much to park his sledge.
  8. From Bournemouth Echo Why not ban the traffic or is that too difficult. Maybe the council can get some consultants with clip boards to draw up a feasibility study. Don't let Bobby47 see this!

  15. Revocation of planning permission Planning permission vests development rights in the land, and the local planning authority has no power simply to withdraw a permission unilaterally. Once planning permission has been granted, then any revocation of the permission leaves the applicant able to claim compensation. The local planning authority has the power to revoke planning permissions under section 97 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (as amended). The power in section 97 of the 1990 Act can only be used before the development is complete. After that date, a local planning authority can use a power to order discontinuance under section 102 of the Act. Confirmation by the Secretary of State is required under section 103. Again, there is a liability to pay compensation under section 115. The normal measure of compensation is the damage suffered in consequence of the order by depreciation of the value of an interest in the land or in minerals, or by being disturbed in the enjoyment of the land or minerals. This note describes the circumstances in which either the local planning authority or the Secretary of State can revoke planning permission that has been granted by a local planning authority. It applies to England and Wales. Revocation of planning permission.pdf
  16. It's a bit like selling the deck chairs on the Titanic as it goes down.
  17. I drew attention to the plan for regionalisation 2 years ago (see post 10)
  18. This isn't a relief road it is an access road. An access road to large housing estates to be built in the near future. The only problem is that to access these new estates there will have to be a junction to access it. So does that mean there will be more traffic lights and/or roundabouts along this route crossing at grade which will only impede smooth flow along the whole length.
  19. Guy Taylor on UK Column today talking to MI5 starts at 23:35 mins and also trying to get a receipt for his paperwork at the magistrates court.
  20. The EU regions march on.
  21. Well it looks as if this will be a local election issue. It's Our County say no to a relief road: and the Conservatives say lets get on and pour more concrete over the countryside. Should be interesting.
  22. Hereford Times News 12th November 2014 Four arrested following immigration operation in Hereford FOUR men have been arrested by immigration officers for working at a Hereford restaurant. Acting on intelligence, officers visited Nine and Nine, on Widemarsh Street, at around 6pm on Saturday November 8 when staff were questioned to check if they had the right to live and work in the UK. Officers arrested four men from Bangladesh aged 25, 28, 35 and 40. Three of the men were detained while steps are taken to remove them from the UK and the 25-year-old was ordered to report regularly to the Home Office while his case progresses. The business was served a notice, warning that a civil penalty of up to £20,000 per illegal worker arrested will be imposed unless the employer can demonstrate that the appropriate right to work document checks were carried out. That could include seeing a passport or Home Office document. If proof is not provided, the business could pay out a potential total of up to £80,000. The operation was supported by officers from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and Herefordshire Council’s Environmental Health and Trading Standards. Both partner agencies carried out their own checks on the premises. Claire Portlock, acting assistant director at West Midlands Home Office Immigration Enforcement, said: “This is a warning to businesses either deliberately employing people with no right to work or failing to carry out the legally required checks on their staff. We will catch up with you and you should expect to face heavy financial penalties. “Illegal working is not victimless. It cheats legitimate job seekers out of employment opportunities. “I would urge members of the public with information about suspected immigration abuse to get in touch.†Anyone with information about suspected immigration abuse can visit gov.uk/report-immigration-crime or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
  23. Councils fined millions over landfill Video duration: 02:41 Councils are tightening the purse strings but the BBC has found many are also paying millions in fines because they have missed their European targets on recycling. Tom Turrell spoke to Anthony Blagg, a Conservative member of Worcestershire County Council, UKIP MEP Mike Nattrass and the Green Party's Malcolm Victory. Maybe that's why the council is leaving it on the streets in order to save landfill tax. No mention how much Herefordshire has been fined, if at all.
  24. Dippy they would picking up both collections every other week in your area so it would be alternate weeks.
