How Much! Herefordshire Council Offices Plough Lane
megilleland replied to Colin James's topic in Broomy Hill & Breinton
Hereford Times: 17:02 Tuesday 26 August 2014 in News by Bill Tanner The council saving us money by spending it on Plough Lane. Maybe Brockington can become a Travellers site, as the council is conducting a survey and looking for new sites. Notice the council has pre-empted planning permission for the fire station on Bath Street. -
Fraudulent banks, utility companies and corrupt courts

Received a letter from my bank today, informing me that they are maintaining the interest paid on an e-savings account at 0.10% for those saving £2500+ and for those saving £10,000+ reducing the interest paid from 1.00% to 0.55%. I assume they are paying no interest below £2500! Strange as I am getting 3% with OVO energy on any credit I have with them and I find it easier to leave any overpayment to cushion winter bills. I suspect the bank rates are being reduced to suddenly rise again nearer to the election - we will see. -
Bearing in mind the welcome opposition councillors' planned coup, regarding the cabinet system next week do we get what we deserve? How are these councillors going to carry us through to the election polls next May? As witnessed on these pages not many councillors engage with us on the many local issues affecting the city and which concern us. Directness and honesty seem to be secondary considerations, often only telling us how bad things are after they have gone t"ts up. Consultations are undertaken and ignored if the results do not fit the planned agenda. How much has and is this costing us? Nearer to us in the West Midlands last week, the election for a police commissioner attracted only 1 in 10 registered voters. The vote following the death last month of Bob Jones resulted in a turnout of 10.4%, the lowest recorded since the posts were created two years ago, prompting demands for the process to be reformed. The cost of the election to the taxpayer has been estimated £3.7m, just under £20 for each vote cast. Is that the price for democracry today? Quite cheap for those wishing to remain in power.

If you had not pointed this out flamboyant I would never have known. I wonder how this was reported on the traffic reports - a minor blockage? We are in living in a diverse community in the UK and I am sure we will get more of this sort of protest. That is why Teresa May is hoping to rush in new laws to prevent these things happening, but no doubt will be used against all of us when it suits.

Fraudulent banks, utility companies and corrupt courts

The internet is a marvellous invention allowing individuals to put their own point of view across to a wider audiience. The wealth of information and facts on line is sheer education. Looking back at what people were telling us through their own research and experiences has enlightened many and helped those who are struggling against adversities. I'm in my sixties, travelled widely, well educated, worked in private and public organisations, been self-employed for 11 years and been interested in many things in my leisure time - I have learnt alot about society and its mechanism of control. Guy Taylor may be shuffling more paper around for 7 minutes, but I am prepared to give him some time to understand what he is fighting for. Ignoring peoples' plight for one reason or another is one thing that I have realised over the years is the smug attitude of people who tell us that things are ok and the norm. -
I didn't see that on the BBC - can't be news.

Advice: Parking and penalty notices on private land
megilleland replied to Colin James's topic in Open Forum
As a lot of motorists read this topic here, so I thought it would be worth drawing attention to this tax disc change which may catch some people out. Car tax discs end in six weeks but half the country has no idea Tax discs will be abolished on October 1 but of those aware change is ahead, half do not know the exact date The move away from paper discs, after 93 years, is designed to offer motorists more flexible payment options and make it harder for people to evade taxing their cars. Estimates show that the changes could save the taxpayer £10million a year. Car owners will still need to have paid vehicle tax to drive on the roads. But under the new system, the tax will no longer be automatically transferred with a car when it is sold. Sellers are expected to tell the DVLA straight away of the change of ownership or face £1,000 fines. Shane Teskey, from vehicle history check website hpicheck.com, told the Mail: “Those who fail to inform the DVLA, could be fined and they will still be liable for any speeding or parking fines and vehicle tax for a car they don't even own any more.†-
Town and Country Planning Act 1990 Section 215 Best Practice Guidance Section 215 (s215) of the Town & Country Planning Act 1990 (the Act) provides a local planning authority (LPA) with the power, in certain circumstances, to take steps requiring land to be cleaned up when its condition adversely affects the amenity of the area. If it appears that the amenity of part of their area is being adversely affected by the condition of neighbouring land and buildings, they may serve a notice on the owner requiring that the situation be remedied. These notices set out the steps that need to be taken, and the time within which they must be carried out. LPAs also have powers under s219 to undertake the clean up works themselves and to recover the costs from the landowner. Some good case studies at the end of the document.

No Biomech, but gardeners with sit-on lawnmowers face buying motor insurance. European ruling next month could force gardeners with ride-on mowers to take out insurance against accidents on private land. Patrick McLoughlin, the Transport Secretary, has been told that all owners of ride-on mowers may be forced to pay for the cover, even if the vehicle never leaves their garden. That'll stop people using them for popping down the pub! -

Hereford Times update on Guy Taylor Take a look at the police presence for this operation. What would the cost for this lot be? The helicopter must have cost a few bob. Figures here say the helicpoter as an asset is shown at £2 million and the estimated cost for flying it is £1695 an hour - both figures years old. Why were the police here for several days before - waiting for a nod from someone? If an offence had been committed police should have been deployed on the day. Obviously there were no police in High Town over this period. -

The Electricity Utilities are referrred to in this early case in 2011 against Guy Taylor in Hereford Magistrates Court which is part of the ongoing saga at Bodenham Manor. I paid for a search at Land Registry yesterday and the result is that Bodenham Manor was sold. Proprietorship Register This register specifies the class of title and identifies the owner. It contains any entries that affect the right of disposal. Title absolute 1 (02.07.2014) PROPRIETOR: JAMES DAVID DAVIES of Fiddington Farm, Fiddington, Tewkesbury GL20 7BJ. 2 (02.07.2014) The price stated to have been paid on 13 June 2014 was £305,000. So Mr Davies appears to have brought the Manor in good faith, unless he has been hood-winked into assisting the removal of the property from Guy Taylor illegally. No doubt a reputable solicitor was used in the "sale". It will interesting to see how Guy goes about investigating this and he will do. -

Fraud - deceit, trickery, sharp practice, or breach of confidence, perpetrated for profit or to gain some unfair or dishonest advantage. British Gas took £17,000 from businessman's bank account after they accidentally charged him 100 times more than usual - and refused to give it back for 11 days. Oliver Wotherspoon, from Bolton, spends £150 a month on energy bills But he returned from holiday to find he had been charged 100 times more British Gas had taken £16,670.57 directly from his savings account The energy giant said error was due to 'incorrect meter reading' But it took Mr Wotherspoon 11 days - and a lawyer - to get his money back -

Just been watching the UK Column live programme. Guy Taylor has been arrested and police have raided both of his properties at Bodenham Manor and Peartree Farm, Carey. Appears there was a heavy presence to carry out the operation and comment has been made about the use of the police helicopter regularly over the last few days at no doubt great cost to the tax payer. No coverage in the Hereford Times as usual even though the incident is on their doorstep. Will post the link to UK Column interview when it is archived. Guy is pleased he has been arrested as he can now get a trial with jury to expose the goings on within our society. -
