  3. They are all going to run courses on "Transformation"!
  4. Now that the industrial units behind Royal Mail have been demolished, where the Link Road, is planned it makes more sense to relocate the fire station to this area as there wil be no demolition costs involving the Bath Street Offices. Still no news on a planning application.
  5. The Local Governmnet Ombudsman can deal with complaints against the Council where the council has done something wrong? (maladministration) The law says the Ombudsman can investigate alleged or apparent ‘maladministration or service failure. This can include: * Delay * Incorrect action or failure to take any action * Failure to follow procedures or the law * Failure to provide information * Inadequate record-keeping * Failure to investigate * Failure to reply * Misleading or inaccurate statements * Inadequate liaison * Inadequate consultation * Broken promises The Ombudsman does not usually criticise a decision which has been properly taken simply because someone disagrees with it. We will however look at the way the decision was made.

  9. List of planning public notices affecting the city 17th July 2014 No applications. Link here to city planning applications registered in the last seven days. I will add these to upcoming planning notices.

  11. Hereford Times: Friday 18th July 2014 in News By Bill Tanner They obviously didn't note this post a month ago. These councillors really need to visit Hereford Voice a bit more often.
  12. Guy Taylor's report on his appearance at Hereford Magistrates Court this Wednesday. UK Column Daily News start at 8:40 mins. This video is only up for 24hrs starting at 1pm each day. It may be archived, but as yet unable to link to it.
  13. Update: This should help to pull people back to this side of town.
  14. Well, am I glad I was wrong (post 4). It will be interesting to look at the numbers and turnout.
  15. Anyone going to guess the result tonight? The Tories will get back in, caused by the voting being split between five parties. They will get in with a count lower than the combined vote of the opposition, but then this is UK politics, no real representation.
  16. More news today in Hereford Times: Hereford United - Council ready to consider terminating ground leases Have the council considered terminating themselves?
  17. And four posts for the Marches Local Enterprise Partnership: The Marches Local Enterprise Partnership is a business-driven private/public sector partnership tasked with leading co-ordinated action to improve economic prosperity for the Herefordshire, Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin area. The Partnership is developing its core team by making the following appointments: SL14/46 - Marches LEP Partnership Manager £36,348 - 39,762 (full time) SL14/47 - Marches LEP Project Officer (x2) £28,674 - 31,339 (full time) SL14/48 - Marches LEP Administrative Officer £16,397 - 18,274 (Pro rata, 4 days/week) Using the bottom of the scale that's around £110,000. The LEP empire is now expanding, no doubt at the expense of more cuts in the council.
  18. From BBC Local Radio Devon today: The banks want their assets back and don't care who is hurt.
  19. Guy Taylor in Hereford Magistrates Court tomorrow, Wednesday 16th July at 10.00am. Should be interesting if you can get there.
  20. How come someone from Tadworth, Surrey KT20 6RD is cutting grass in Herefordshire. How did this outsourcing originate and under whose authorisation? Answers councillors please.
  21. In The Guardian today: How I lost my free school secrecy court battle Where does this money come from? The tax payer of course and they still do not want to tell you where and how it is being spent.
  22. Interviewing Cllr Rone at 8.30am BBC H&W radio today, following mounting concern over childrens' safety walking the country lanes around Hatfield. Cash before Kids.
  23. HOC HOME AFFAIRS COMMITTEE Monday 14 July 2014 Committee Room 8 Meeting started at 3.01pm. Ended at 4.48pm The work of the Home Secretary Witnesses Rt Hon Theresa May MP, Home Secretary Theresa May getting a good grilling today on current issues - regarding Butler-Sloss, access to personal details and purchase and use of water cannon by Boris - also access to NHS records. Interesting that Cameron is changing the Cabinet tonight. Any embarassments going in view of the above issues. Ken Clark going. Mr Clarke's liberal attitude while justice secretary put him at odds with the formidable Mrs May, with Whitehall insiders describing the relationship as "Theresa locks them up, Ken lets them out". As Theresa May said to the committee "It is not managemet by panic"
  24. Data Retention and Investigatory Powers Bill In less than 24 hours, MPs will vote through a new law forcing internet and phone companies to keep records of all your calls, emails and texts. The government says it’s to counter terrorism - but privacy campaigners say it’s a huge power grab under false pretences. Either way, it’s made a mockery of the democratic process. Usually, a new law takes months. But tomorrow, MPs will vote this law through just two working days after it was first announced. Many MPs probably won’t have had the time to read it. The Tory, Lib Dem and Labour leaders are all backing it - it’d take a miracle to stop MPs passing it tomorrow. And this following on from Ken Clark's secret courts. Bobby better watch out they'll be screening his emails from the end of the week! Ironic that on the Parliament website it states that: Just sent Jesse Norman an email asking where he stands on this.
  25. Council expenditure available now for June 2014. Unusually there is no May expenditure listed, so I assume the May figures have been included in the June spreadsheet. The toal sum of money paid out in June was £20,076,798.47 so this does look as if two months have been combined. Maybe a councillor can confirm. In order to read the information quickly and see where the money is going I adopt the following approach. Select spread sheet here. Choose the CSV format. 1. Highlight all spreadsheet (click in square above column 1 and to the left of letter A) 2. Change typeface size to 8 3. Click on Format and select Column AutoFit selection. 4. To select amount spent from greatest to least - click on Data - Sort - Sort by Amount - Descending or 5. To see what the total amount of money is paid to each supplier - Data - Sort - Sort by Supplier Name - Ascending. Next, insert blank row after last entry for supplier. Insert Autosum under last payment and select total payments to arrive at total paid. 6. For example Hoople Ltd were paid £1,055,059.65 in June 2014. You can also delete unnecessary columns to read across spread sheet easier.
