Report of the Feltham Arenas Scrutiny Task & Finish Group June 2013 A good read about what went wrong and who was involved. Our council should take note - before they get out of their depth with Edgar Street and cost us more money.

Mr Lonsdale seems to have rubbed up his community the wrong way with his good works at Bedfont and Feltham, and stuck two fingers up to them also. GetWestLondon: Sep 09, 2013 20:10 By Robert Cumber "Whilst the lack of available financial information prevents us from establishing whether any party benefited financially, it also prevents us from ruling out this probability." The only people who appear to have lost out are the ratepayers again this time to the tune of £300,000. How does Hereford attract these characters?

Hereford United Supporters Trust October 3rd 2013 Edgar Street Athletic Ground: Nomination as an Asset of Community Value I wonder what the reply was. Register of community assets is here. Not much in Hereford City maybe they should add the Working Boys Home.

216 pages of b*l*s*i*. Did anyone find a sanity clause in the document. Of course not. There is no sanity clause (apologies to Groucho Marx)

Leading by example in Wiltshire - great respect. I wonder what the chances of seeing The Cabinet here cutting the grass. I bet it will be long after we are all pushing up the daisies - if you can see them! You need to scroll down to see article.- 427 replies

I thought this would be a typical response, but not surprised. -

Wonder if the Hereford Times is covering this? I doubt it. -
The council have always cut it in the past as well as the narrow strip up the foot path behind the garages.

Hereford Times: 16th June 2014 in News By Bill Tanner See post 4 above. It's a pity the Hereford Times doesn't tell the local ratepayers that they can raise questions concerning the running and management of the council's accounts which the auditor can look into. There must be plenty of questions to ask about where all the money is going. -
Bredwardine Close/Sherborne Close around the electricity sub station could do with a cut as people are flytipping rubbish into the long grass.

Balfour Beatty spotted today on the service road at Holme Lacy Road and Putson Avenue. The tractor driver had to run over it twice to cut it down. Nobody to pick it up. Herefordshire Housing were cutting along Marlbrook Road and The Academy. Several operatives working and all the cut grass put into the back of a truck.- 427 replies

I wonder how many of our councillors and officers have read this and acted on it? Doesn't this Council/Fire Authority business fall into this criteria ie "It is critical that decisions in such cases are highly transparent and that the rationale behind them is clearly set out, making reference to the dual roles of the council". 201 Ways to Save Money in Local Government Harry Phibbs, a local conservative councillor in Hammersmith & Fulham for over seven years, has produced for the TaxPayers’ Alliance a checklist of 201 ways for local politicians to save money. However he doesn't explain how to avoid the consequences of some of his cuts. This must be where the cabinet cribs its ideas from. They could add another soon - sell off your football ground.
