  1. I see the letter is promoting a 'litter pick' .... Earlier evidence on this very forum suggests that the partner Agency of the Police (The Council) don't want to know about the GWW .... It's all about sending out some trendy messages on the internet. When you scratch the surface (not very hard) the truth is laid bare .... Money is paid in Council Tax then end up doing it yerself.
  2. Seems like an arbitrary decision was made as opposed to listening to 'evidence' from someone who can relate details of previous problems. Have they got sidetracked over any lack of sufficient incline on the roads in that area? Blinkered? There is a grit bin near me by the way. Penn Grove Road. On a bend but no real incline on the road.
  3. The bins' in Churchill Gardens never overflow and the 3 red dog waste bins' there seem to get emptied daily ~ or near enough daily. So it's very disappointing that certain zones are getting neglected. Who is in charge of managing the rota for bin control? Seems to be a failure in supervision. Or more likely management. Someone is getting paid a large sum of money for managing those bins' and the picture evidence indicates they should not be in a job. As for litigation then 99.9% of people haven't got the time to engage with that process. Far easier to 'shame' the dept. on Social Media as it actually works. And it's a couple of clicks to make a Public point. Kip Waistell, who wrote the above letter, is a well known local who I actually applaud for his litter stance. I think he also was involved in some UKIP stuff that made the papers. So it's the sort of area he would sound off about ....
  4. Anger over 'two hour bar queues' at Manchester Sausage, Cider and Beer festival at Bowlers Manchester Evening News The Manchester event is this weekend. This is the same notorious James Dean Events who 'organised' the Hereford Sausage Event last year ... Future events are planned for Essex, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Peterborough .... Thankfully none for Hereford ....
  5. No update yet .... The previous printed edition of the HT led on all those armed raids all over town. Whatever happened with all of that? We only ever seem to get half a story.
  6. That last contribution is 'off topic' ..... I am no fan of Cameron over the EU stuff by the way and me and him are going to fall out over his scare stories ..... What is Corbyn saying about Europe? Lets keep this on topic .....
  7. Moreland Avenue today .... Current approach is to do a botch job on a hole .... Which then reappears
  8. I see The Council are doing their bit for this initiative .... This is the approach to the railway station at lunchtime today ...
  9. Dan Jarvis sets out his vision for Labour as leadership talk mounts Guardian Corbyn has strong grass roots support .... This might be interesting .... May elections coming up .... Corbyn was like a wet weekend at PMQ's today .... Just my opinion as I was tuned in ....
  10. Was it a 'whipped'vote ? I did read the article at the time ....
  11. Can't have happened.No reassurance updates from WMP .....
  12. The Council have an army of attendants who will give you a ticket for overstaying in a half empty car park. Maybe they should be looking at the real problem blighting Communities? It all boils down to cash tho. No money to be made from people slinging clapped out microwaves on an estate that is out of the way ....
  13. Sherborne Close always seems to crop up on this forum. Is it the locals dumping stuff or is it 'out of the way' and attracting other dumpers' from a bit further away? Like 3 or 4 streets away .... Or further ? And is Sherborne Close going to be 'cleaned for the Queen' ? And if so what would be the point? As it seems to be a magnet for trash. The fridges and sofa's would just return ....
  14. Their Twitter is @eurochangeFX Current rates Asda ~ A £ will buy you €1.2684 Eurochange ~ A £ will buy you €1.2652 M&S ~ A £ will buy you €1.2632 So they are undercutting the shop next door but not Asda. Above are standard rates and enhanced rates may differ. M&S bank customers would get better rates ...
  15. The current paint job is truly awful ..... Hopefully the next time the premises opens it will have an appearance that's sympathetic to the surroundings and location ....
  16. I don't call smashing your sump to bits 'minor damage'
  17. Why Hasn't Yvette Cooper Taken In Refugees? LBC
  18. Emerge together ? What does that mean?
  19. Anecdotal report on FB tonight that The Spread Eagle has closed until further notice .... Source is reliable in my opinion ....
  20. I asked myself that very question today as my daughters car has started to play up. Added her car to an existing Green Flag recovery policy for £22 at lunchtime .... I think that the Council think that the car parking charges are the answer. This year and next year. As for 'going down the drain' the Council seems to want to let the County down by selling off the tenant farms' .... Of course leaving will lead to various unknowns but we can then let in exactly who we need. There will be a cost aspect in vetting and assessing visa stuff but it's a price worth paying in my opinion.
  21. Is the area in this photo on their patch? Megilleland says it's been there 4/5 years ....
  22. The Council are having discussions with the Govt. about receiving a number of 'asylum seekers' but this is an example of a vulnerable person already on their doorstep who is not a part of a plan. How many more people like her are out there?
  23. Who Turkey lets in or out is entirely a matter for them. They're an independent Country. Their decisions on immigration have a knock on for the EU tho and as they want to join then we get talks like today. The EU has an external border and that's obviously got more holes than a Swiss cheese in it at the moment. Current weak point is Greece who seem incapable of stemming the flow into places like Lesbos from Turkey. Greece and Turkey don't get on very well (since the 1974 Cyprus invasion) and so Greece having border controls located inside Turkey (like we have with France) ain't going to be happening. The only certain thing in this world is if Cyprus get through to the final of Eurovision then they will get maximum points from Greece and nil points from Turkey .... EU external borders ... ^^^
  24. Appeal for information on missing Hereford woman WMP
  25. EU leaders are currently meeting with Turkey about the migrant crisis. Turkey is bargaining hard (some say blackmailing) over stemming the flow of refugees from their Country. They want lots of €'s (billions) and Visa travel concessions and ultimately EU membership. The average net income for a worker in Turkey is currently €584 so if their residents had free EU movement they might be tempted to move somewhere where the average wage was higher.
