  1. How long should it remain empty? The Council types read this Forum and I would have at least expected a gentle prod in the owners direction. Not a Council House but we need this sorting out.
  2. I was suggesting that the the majority of Forum Members would prefer that the abandoned Pixley Walk property was used to house a local family in need as opposed to being used to house a fleeing Syrian Family ~ who anyone would acknowledge are in difficulty. There are a lot of platitudes being spread about at the moment which suggest that we should 'open the door' because children are pictured being washed up on beaches. But the Utopian idea that we have unused reception centre's awaiting a potential influx of people .... and a glut of unoccupied (AND AVAILABLE) rooms at our disposal is incorrect. That is fantasy island.
  3. I would guess your answer would reflect the view of the forum. I only asked because of things like this that are cropping up ... That was daubed in South Liverpool .... How is this still rumbling on with that empty house ? ..... We have a housing crisis! Use it or lose it!
  4. My friend just raised this subject again (somewhere else) in the wake of the Migrant crisis. Is it acceptable that this property is unoccupied (in unclear circumstances) when people are fleeing War Zones ? Should Hereford help out a Syrian family and house them here ?
  5. If you look on the WMP website you will see that there are 10 neighbourhood teams to cover the whole of Herefordshire. When you take out the supervisors (most of whom look after multiple teams) and the CSO's (who don't work nights and whose powers you can write on the back of a stamp) it shows that 8 teams are on one Constable. 2 teams are currently zero Constable. Those figures cannot really fall much further!! Community Policing was brought in by Labour in April 2005 as a £1 billion pound flagship programme in case anyone forgot.
  6. Some fella in Bulmer Avenue lost all 4 wheels off his Land Rover on July 27 th .... HT
  7. Rules have been changed. Yes/No has been changed to Remain/Leave. Subliminal tactic by Cameron has been replaced by something different .... I prefer to watch the video You can make yer own mind up from that!
  8. It was when I drove past it. The signage didn't comply with the TRO. As regards to your first point the Officer who admonished you should have known the fundamental rules about town stuff. Cycle times, begging rules, street drinking or whatever - but he/she may have based his/her advice on what was on a spinning sign that may have been wrong? The Neighbourhood PC for that zone is Keith Ramone. Look on the WMP site and you will see his area. He does ride a bicycle tho .....
  9. I think you pretty much put a tin lid on the reply situation there!
  10. The event was organised by James Dean Events 8 reviews on their FB page. All 5* obviously! They have Events coming up! Leicestershire Sausage & Cider Family Festival (3-5 June 2016) Derbyshire Sausage & Cider Family Festival (1-3 July 2016)
  11. At 16.35 hrs yesterday I drove past that sign pictured above. It wasn't displaying that. It was displaying this:
  12. Not overly sure on the branding on those wagons but if you type into google the exact spelling you can see the results for yourself.
  13. I've linked this photo from Colin's very early post on this thread. How does the flyer reflect on what the main focus of the event turned out to be? I can't see much mention on there that a funfair was a main element. The suggestion I would get from that poster was that it was centred around sausages and cider.
  14. Corbyn wasn't proposing this a Policy but was suggesting that it was a subject that needed to be talked about. I don't agree with women only carriages in principle but it would never work in practice anyway. The 12.40 London Midland train that's just left Hereford for Birmingham is a 2 carriage 'Pacer' train. Half reserved for women only? Never going to happen is it. Similarly with loads of 2 car Arriva trains. I was sat on an 11 coach Virgin pendolino at Liverpool Lime Street Station on Saturday evening which is one of the longer trains around. I think there were 3 Virgin staff on it. The driver, train manager, and someone serving in the buffet car. Not even a ticket checker as the checks are done on the barrier exit at Euston. I never saw the train manager. I heard him though. On the tannoy. He said the train was full and if people didn't shuffle around more evenly in the carriages he would weigh the coaches and start ejecting people. First Class was then declassified so I went in there. If the situation had been complicated even further with a women only section I think the train would still be sat at the platform now! First Great Western staff are striking as we speak about their new electric trains which they perceive will lead to job losses. FGW say jobs won't go but I can't see them bringing in extra train security staff at all. The way it's going is that they are trying to operate trains with as few staff on board as possible.
  15. Castle Green (Public Space) is roped off for the Great & The Good when They decide that the booze free zone should be made a Boozy Party Zone without the riff raff ..... As you know Colin I've raised that point before. It just exacerbates the divide between the Real World and the ones that make the rules up as they go along .... Whether it be locally or Nationally ....
  16. I agree. The City is swamped with traffic lights. Even more planned for Edgar Street with the new 'road to nowhere' ..... How much more do they want to slow up that A49 ?
  17. I was out of town yesterday but I would guess the Music was drifting up the hill from The Barrels. I know the acoustics around this area. And that is exactly what happens. I never mind that stuff as the cut off time is set at a reasonable time. The Sausage Festival seems to me to have been misrepresented ..... But I never went ..... Just giving my view. Having looked around the internet!
  18. As far as I am aware the TRO has not changed recently. The HT reported about the subject on the most recent change in 2010. Personally I don't think you can call somewhere a 'Pedestrian Zone' if bicycles are allowed through it at certain times. In fact 18 hours out of 24. But that is just my opinion. There are various groups of people exempted from the TRO who are not on the sign but who wants a 6 foot long sign? What are the cycling rules in Eign Gate? I think the rules are badly thought out and confusing.
  19. Nope. The relevance is that the sign has rotated to just ban motor vehicles instead of all vehicles. This is an identical sign the other side of town which has rotated due to the time. That bans all vehicles. Including cycles.
  20. So many exemptions in the small print of High Town rules, coupled with it turning it into a pop up village at any given moment, make the whole situation a joke. Everyone knows cyclists don't give a toss in town. Anyone thinking installing 3 high tech signs as a panacea needs their brain examined.
  21. The cycling rules have not been changed. For anyone who doesn't know about the cycle death then here is the link. I don't think the timings for cycling are realistic re safety and I never have. I would suggest a cycle ban between 8.00 AM and 6.00 PM as a minimum. This isn't Holland where the culture is different. Stuff is being dragged in and out of High Town virtually daily (Coffee Kart?) . Starting at probably 6 AM and ending at 6 PM. Cyclists can appear out of nowhere from behind something that is a temporary structure or similar. Sometimes at speed.
  22. GK: I've previously noticed the the filter phase by the butcher's doesn't actually occur as I use that junction occasionally. I have also seen it come on tho. Has it got a mind of it's own? The google street view photo below is dated Sept. 2014. Arrows seem pretty clear .... I will also add that trying to get out of St. Martins Street to enter the Asda roundabout (to go to Asda) is a fairly hopeless task at busy times. When the light goes green the road in front is full of cars waiting at a red light. Filling the entire space between the light on the left and the end of the yellow box on the right.
  23. Nothing has changed. Whether I agree that 4.30 PM is an appropriate time to let loose the cycle fraternity is another matter. Same applies to everyone being able to quite happily cycle about at 10.25 AM in that area. Rules are shown on those very expensive 'variable message' electronic rotating signs.
  24. Current situation. The steel frame has been constructed after the ground was excavated several feet lower than what it was.
