  1. Also the Tories today said that they want to let Housing Association Tenants buy the home they live in on the cheap! Brilliant if you live in one but then where do new prospective tenants live when the existing stock has been sold? Replacement properties won't be built in the next Month obviously. Just a tactic to try and buy Labour votes' .... at any price! Just like Thatcher did! She sold off the Council Houses and that's why we have too few Social Units left! But great in the 80's if you bought one for next to nothing!
  2. The pic has been taken (without credit) from Jesse Normans Twitter feed ... 3 days old as well ... I'm sure he hasn't excluded anyone from the pic on ethnicity grounds ... But it probably is fairly representative of his support. I don't think there is a vast swathe of ethnic minority Tory Supporters in his constituency anyway.I think you were making an unfair point.

  4. This candidate is relatively new as the original candidate, Kip Waistell, left in some acrimonious circumstances ... HT link
  5. I'm still unsure if the Hereford CIZ has been enlarged as has been proposed. Bilbobobby said last December that it was due to go before the Licensing Committee for a decision ... Proposed 'enlarged' CIZ
  6. I'd put Brian Wilcox very much further up ... Not wanting to stereotype but his ward is now a lumped in Moreland Ave/Penn Grove/College Estate sort of mish mash. I think it looks gloomy for him. Why are there so few Labour Candidates out there? Are IOC Labour type people in disguise? I'm not making a funny point. I just think we need to be informed!
  7. Colin Shepherd was Tory MP 74 - 97 for here. Link Haven't got a scooby if they are related! He used to park his clapped out surgery caravan at the JK Johnson filling station on the Callow when I worked at said garage!
  8. The hordes won't be coming into town from Leominster tonight! At least not by train!
  9. 53 Wards in the County. Labour is contesting 1/53 .... Redhill ...
  10. Couldn't see Nick Nenadich on that list ...
  11. The new Tesco Express has failed a 'test purchase' sting by the Council. On 26th March 2015 a 17 year old girl was sold a bottle of wine ... Review of alcohol licence underway ... Council Website
  12. Voters may wish to familiarise themselves with the map showing the ward boundaries ... Map Here I only mention it as I live slap bang on Aylestone Hill and I am now part of the College Ward. The Nuffield Hospital (200 yards from me on Venns Lane) is in The Holmer Ward. I know they are trying to even out the numbers of people in each ward but I don't think the boundaries are ideal.

  14. I'd think that Nick Semper ---> Sue Thomas ----> Hindlip is/are already on the radar of this thread .... ..Hardly a secret !!!!!! .... Not sure what the outcome is but this thread is interesting!
  15. I don't think advice from people who weren't there is always helpful .... 'cuffed without being cautioned' is something no one knows other than anyone present. I do agree with your wider point that PACE and similar sorts of stuff could be alien to a large number of people ....
  16. I imagine this is a difficult area. The Cops don't look after stray dogs anymore and they have no 'kennel'. So after the arrest the dog was never gonna get a free ride to the Station. I would imagine the hound situation would first be addressed when the person in custody has an opportunity to make free phone call. If it was me making the arrest (not knowing of course if the arrest was all above board or not as I wasn't there) then I would have 'unofficially' tried to sort out the dog situation on the ride back to the station. With phone calls. To get the dog out of the car. I see, from your last comment Amanda, that you spent some time protesting in the 90's .... You are standing as IOC but are you a 'GREENS' type person?
  17. The cops can stop any car for no reason and ask the driver his/her name. The driver has to give it. I'm sure Julian would have given it if he'd been asked in a polite manner. If he'd have asked if he was obliged to give it he probably would have if it was explained to him why he had to give it. Seems to me the situation started off on a downward slope as soon as the cops got out of their car. If correct the events in the Police Station seem pretty unpleasant and indefensible. Most of that cell block is covered by internal cameras and there is audio recording as well so if anything untoward happened (especially at the custody desk) it will have been recorded. I would urge Julian to contact the Professional Standards Dept. of the West Mercia Police to make an Official complaint about the whole episode. You don't mention Amanda about whether your partner took advantage of his right to free legal advice at the Police Station. Did he get offered it and decline it? Is he thinking about getting a solicitor now?
  18. After his non existent attempt at engaging with me (when he was actually touching my door) I can say that he has lost my vote. Tactical error on his part with this voter.
  19. Paul Neades is an IOC candidate for Hagley Ward, Hereford
  20. Construction work has little or nothing to do with collecting the bins, or gambling, or dodgy tobacco or running an illegal bar. A certain organisation that operates in various places has diversified it's criminal activities to achieve an overall goal using that method ... So the blinkered approach of the Regulatory Committee (if you are correct) confuses me. That said ~ if the Council Committee has set the test for this applicant in the same way as if it was any other punter applying for a licence then fine. And obviously you won't shut down a shop that is trading in goods that you don't need a licence for.
  21. That area of town is developing into an an enclave ..... Add to that the dodgy underpass at the end. The Milton Keynes style lights. I'll add those to my moan, In My Opinion, It's a shambles ....
  22. It had been fixed.Very badly I must say. It has now re-appeared. I drove over it tonight. Photo via Hereford Chat Room on FB ....
  23. I'm a little bit confused as to how this is a new story on the HT website today as it seems to be 4 month old news .... Hereford Times I would have thought that the licensing objectives would be undermined if the applicant has criminal connections as alleged by the Police ...
  24. I love trams .... Use them whenever I can .... Obviously not here as there are none! Can't see this happening anytime soon. Regular rail here is diesel. No sign of electric!
