Police Seize Cigarettes From 'Kurdish Owned' European Shop
Roger replied to Colin James's topic in Police & Crime
The shop sign says 'Polish Shop' .... But I suppose the owners might not be Polish ... All very confusing! Loads of levels to this situation I think! -
Police Seize Cigarettes From 'Kurdish Owned' European Shop

A shop gets a raid and then the issue still persists ... Probably the shop is re-stocked next day ... Obviously a failure at the point of how it gets here ... I know people who stroll in to buy the cheap stuff all the time ... It is kosher I think ... Duty avoided as opposed to being counterfeit. -

Cannot Purchase Hot Food In Hereford City After 1.30am
Roger replied to Colin James's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
I just had the misfortune to see the smashed in face of my friends son who was in Hereford A+E yesterday ... 27 he is ... Another ridiculous assault at night in Hereford ... I won't share the photo's as the privacy was set to 'friends' on FB ... The problems are not food but the booze controls ...- 291 replies

Buildings burned down Oct. 2010 ... So nearly 4 years ... The site is only suited to a charity shop at the moment ... and that is if it wasn't burned down ... You would probably make more money pitching a tent in the High Town ...

Cannot Purchase Hot Food In Hereford City After 1.30am
Roger replied to Colin James's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
I don't agree it is that simple ... I agree that you can apply ... Licensing Objectives: Prevention of crime and disorder Public safety Prevention of public nuisance Protection of children from harm CIZ is a big player here as we all know ~ as the area covered is the hot spot for where stuff happens. Saturated and I agree there ... But what more can the Hereford Charcoal Grill do if it wanted a later licence? The children aspect is a non starter as it don't apply so you are left with trying to sell kebabs by trying to reduce customers as all the revellers might go there! The argument is applied very subjectively I feel ...- 291 replies

Hereford United Official Site I think HUFC are not helping themselves here. They post pictures on Twitter (out of the blue and on the embedded link) of the players' enjoying an 'Islamic Meal' which a lot of people could interpret as being in breach of Ramadan. There was no context in the initial Tweet at all. Plus I doubt many people (other than avid followers of all things HUFC) know who the current staff or players' are! It would have been far easier to avoid bringing a religious context to The Club at this time I feel ... By the way this subject crops up all the time in sport. London Olympics is one example ...

I really do sympathise here ... Lack of money and more internet and other sorts of crime that is probably office intensive. But in the absence of an occasional push at the problem (with drunks + beggars) the reality is that the WMP website suggests that the resident Safer Neighbourhood team for the City Centre and beyond only has two warranted Constables ... Their area is on the map ... And I know Keith Ramone and I know he is extremely active on his bicycle ...

St Owens News is being looked at for furnishing the street drinkers with alcohol ... Who end up around the Castle Green/Duck Pond Council Website The narrative on the complaint has all the details ... Suggestions are that 3 litre containers and cans over 6.5 ABV are being sold with not enough diligence ...

I hover around Social Media all the time and the general cop tweets are now very sterile ... You get the odd rogue tweet that was a joke gone wrong ... But generally it is so bland it is off the radar ... -

The Inspector for the City Centre is Nick Semper He is very active on Twitter and I'd be staggered if he did not read this Forum ... Just send him a question! -
I did this a tiny bit earlier for where I live Aylestone Ward ... With helpful map to interpret the stats ... Which the census says is 1% Muslim ... 28% own/mortgage the property ...

I've been reading the updates from Bill Tanner with interest ... He reports that there is a question mark over new shares being issued without proper procedure being followed. Also the Council are still appearing very vague about what due diligence was carried out when the leases were re-assigned. There must be paperwork involved here surely? Then we have a Councillor apparently suggesting that somebody from outside (even the Police) should come in independently to have a mooch about to find out what's going on ... I'm sure the Police would get involved if someone approached them with a credible complaint of criminal activity. But I doubt they would get involved in a 'fishing trip' on the back of of an internet moan. And then we have my current Councillor for Aylestone, Nick Nenadich, who is actually on the Council and, until recently, was a director at Hereford United. So quite handy for an inside track on all on this? The answers can't be that hard to find. It's all so very recent stuff.

Correct. It's a widespread issue ... But how much help do you issue to someone who is a lost cause? Ross Richards in the internet feed today for spreading excrement around the cell after some ludicrous incident at Asda. He's been a fixture around here for years. Other than when he was somewhere else. Are people like him draining the adult care budget? I don't know the answers. All seems a bit pear shaped to me ...

Haven't the Council previously gone on record to say that they would prefer that football stays at Edgar Street? If HUFC go under and the leases revert back to The Council then could they not assign them to a new phoenix Club if the proposal passed any due diligence that would be required? I'm sure selling off the whole lot would earn more for the Council (and we all know they are strapped) but there is already a seemingly viable option on the table to start again ... Which would fit in with the wish of football to remain ...

Ancient relic, Nanteos Cup, once thought to be the legendary Holy Grail, stolen in burglary at Weston under Penyard, near Ross AN ancient relic that was once thought to be the Holy Grail has been stolen from a house in Herefordshire. In the last few minutes, West Mercia Police has issued a statement saying that a wooden chalice, known as the Nanteos Cup, has been stolen in a burglary at Weston under Penyard, near Ross. The property was broken into between 9.30amon Monday, July 7, and 9.30am yesterday (Monday, July 14). The police name the Nanteos Cup as reported stolen, describing it as a dark wood cup kept in a blue velvet bag. Worcester News Wikipedia

Petition: Reverse Decision To Reduce Grass Cutting
Roger replied to Colin James's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
Heard some noise behind my house this morning and remarkably the grass is being cut at the top of Churchill Gardens for the first time this year. I had a word with one of the fella's and he said Broadleaf were a firm from Surrey who had been sub-contracted for the job as they were widely considered to be a '4th Emergency Service' who stepped in when a job had got too big. He said grass cutting was not really their main area of expertise as that was tree surgery. Broadleaf Tree Services- 427 replies

I view dealing with problem elements in public areas as a basic requirement for the local Police. Why is a special operation needed to deal with low level boozing/begging? Should they not be monitoring this anyway?
