  1. Western Daily Press article It's all cracked off in the Ledbury area!
  2. You can probably manage to mow a small grass verge adjacent to your property but Churchill Gardens is behind my house and you'd need more than a flymo to tackle that. It's been neglected there for about 4 years ... Looks a total shambles up there ...
  3. I used to be a cub scout in the 10th Hereford pack that used to meet there .... dib dib dib ..... :-)
  4. Correct Tamworth 1-0 Hereford 350 Bulls there apparently ..... to see another loss .... I think the Club is going down the drain ... :-S
  5. Hereford are away to Tamworth tonight. Tamworth have lost 8 and drawn 1 of their last 9 Conference games and are already relegated. So the Bulls should get at least a point tonight you would have thought ...
  6. There is a Govt. exemption that takes precedence over local authorities for Special Events like New Years Eve ... I don't know the exhaustive list but Easter is obviously one of them ...
  7. The cycle lane going up Aylestone is mostly grey coloured (unpainted) mixed with some red bits. Never really worked out what that is all about ...
  8. Purely down to pubs/Clubs serving people till they fall over. The Authorities don't want to/can't afford to clear up the mess from the places they have authorised to issue the Mess.
  9. I tend to agree with Cllr Philip Price ...... I am all for forward thinking and all that but the road layout, at the moment, does not lend itself to just turning the lights out. If there was a 3 month trial and there was no crunch then I would accept my conservative opinion on this was wrong. Just my view! Thanks for listening!
  10. After 12 hrs 45 mins pondering on this one the jury was sent home at 3.30 pm for Easter. Back on Tuesday to resume. I think they do less hours than teachers in these Courts as it started at 10 am and there was an hour off for lunch!
  11. Banksy Website I do admire the artist for all the intrigue he creates ... He seems to have a total plan for where he is going to do a piece and there seems a context to the artwork ... I doubt the pic I linked is his tho! ...
  12. Authorities currently want to drag out more complaints via initial publicity ... So they can throw the whole sink at the defendant ... Multiple charges .... Multiple victims ... They basically want to stack up as many similar shaky moans as they can because there is basically nothing you can gather evidence wise about a 40 year old moan. Other than the moan itself.
  13. Jury has been deliberating for over a day now .... Banksy style stuff has appeared as he's in the news ... If he gets cleared then he has been ridiculed and financially penalised ... So he is on a loser straight away! System is strange!
  14. I've never really seen a prominent link to 'Forum Rules' ....

I don't think we live in a neo Nazi state ... Just a Country where the people in Control just turn the screw just another cog when it's needed. And everyone just buys into it! Vince Cable has been under fire recently so went on R2 today to make himself appear nice again! By talking about off topic stuff! There is a ballot box in 2015 for the important stuff but no sign of anything remotely changing as the Etonian from Banking who got parachuted in to a Marginal will get in again obviously. What is the point of standing these days? You just lose a load of cash fighting the Establishment! And if you don't splash the cash then you might as well have not bothered! As they will have spent it to cement their position!

I find the post extraordinary and grossly offensive. I've no doubt a screenshot has been taken by anyone so inclined to do so. And for the poster to defend the post just compounds the issue. :-S
  17. The last statement about a raid on these foreign 'food' shops by the Council was on 7th Feb. News release here No mention of anything other than 'illegal' tobacco being found. So it seems the contraband issue caused by these shops is the tobacco. I think the shops do it because it's easy. Plus obviously they got customers who are quite prepared to buy it. I heard on the radio yesterday that the average price of a single, legal, filter tip cigarette is now 40p with 36p being tax. It's obviously nothing other than Organised Crime. Crime operates in areas which are profitable and so it's gonna happen. And especially with fags as there is no licence to take away. Any dodgy booze issues would probably lead to just a shuffle around with the name on the shop booze licence.
  18. That is a bit of an off topic fishing trip really ... But I will attempt to answer your post in the context of this thread: 1. Should the budget cover late night opening? I think it should. The cops should be serving the reasonable Public requirements as opposed to the rules being artificially bent so that the Public businesses are basically serving the demands of the cops. 2. How long have you got about the cops/Council links ... ? Too numerous have migrated to the Council to mention. I'm sure there's a secret tunnel! 3. I am an ex cop. I was a Constable in the City Centre team btw 1998 and 2009. I left because I retired. I think your notion of linking knowledge level to rank is a bit insulting to be honest. The current Licensing Officer for the cops is a retired Constable who is doing the job as a Civilian. That is no secret. His press comments are all over the internet in his Official capacity. I'm sure he has far more qualifications/knowledge in that area to complete that role than many people of a higher rank who possibly haven't got much street experience as they are on some sort of other path. I'm sure he may have to temper his decisions tho because of the wider script that is obviously written with the budget in mind.
  19. That amused me! These forums generally generate an IP address to the Moderator ... Not rocket Science to trace that and to narrow your identity down!
  20. My perception is that the Cops have got this ingrained nod and a wink arrangement with the Council so that it impacts less on their shift patterns .... Nothing to do with trying to reinvent the City Nightlife ... Just another tool to minimise the shift strength at night! All the Policing of mundane stuff is now via a CSO but they all go home to their bed at night so as they have all fcuked off you are stuck with a chip shop ban .... !!!!!
  21. I think when lights are generally 'out/broken' people are extra careful. Just my experience ... If it was the norm, and people knew that, then eventually there will be a crunch that a light would have avoided. But I'm as frustrated by the amount of traffic lights in Hereford as anyone else ...
  22. Two observations here ... 1. Northbound traffic in the right lane of the bridge trying to get a right turn into St. Nicholas Street would have to take pot luck with the free flowing southbound traffic entering the bridge. Compounded by restricted views caused by cars turning tight into Barton Road. The junction is already a headache for shunts so that would never happen. Probably got the potential for a crash as well for unrestricted right turns into Barton Road. 2. Free flowing slip road traffic into Whitecross Road, which is cutting across northbound A49 traffic, seems to be an accident waiting to happen. I see the letter does not suggest suggesting turning off the northbound A49 light by Steels so traffic entering Whitecross Road will have to take a chance with northbound cars either speeding up before the light goes red. Or chancing it as they go green. There was a nasty fatal accident at that very junction a few years ago with a combination of a vehicle going into Whitecross with a northbound A49 vehicle so I can't see that ever happening either. Sorry I can't immediately see a news link to that one. But I generally accept when all the lights go out then everything seems to work better!
  23. If you're parked in West Street car park then need to drive to the doctors opposite the East St Junction then you've got to go via the inner ESG ring road, Commercial Square, Union Street, St Peters Sq. You can get to the ring road by going to the Asda roundabout and going right round coming back on yourself. Or right into Barton Road, Ryelands Street, Whitecross Road. Or you could go through the 'access only' sign in East Street and do the trip in 10% of the time! The chance of getting stopped by the cops is remote. There's no incentive for them to prioritise it as they don't get the money from the fixed fines. Several hundred cars a day illegally access East Street. You can only go into it if your destination cannot be reached by any other route. So anything up to Offa Street basically. You can't even use it to go to St. John St. as you can get there by going straight across from Offa Street.
  24. He never got in. Arrived at his microphone at 14.23. He anecdotally reports that the Asda lights seem to have changed. Only allowing about 3 cars from Ross Road to go north across the bridge each phase. Also Sainsbury's lights inbound on the Whitecross Road letting the same 3 cars through per phase. I don't know if this is how they should work or whether someone has been tinkering/experimenting so as to move any potential jam from Newmarket Street to absolutely anywhere else in the City but there ...
