  1. Arrow - win for Tories returns Roger Phillips, beat IOC. College - win for Tories returns Brian Wilcox. Credenhill - convincing win for Independent Bob Matthews. Golden Valley South - Tory win for Graham Powell's raincoat. Dave Greenow holds Hagley for the Tories! What do you have to do to not be elected?!
  2. Results now coming in on the HT live feed - IOC hold Central (Len Tawn) and win Belmont Rural (Tracy Bowes) - Adrian Bridges is out. Backbury - Independent (John Hardwick) beat IOC and Con. Bishops Frome & Cradley emphatic Tory win puts Patricia Morgan back. Dear Lord no! Dinedor - win for IOC - Sinclair-Knipe is out. Eign Hill - IOC (Cath North) win. Bobblestock - Tory win Bobblestock, beat Charles Nicholls IOC, terrible result. Birch - Tory win - beat Jon Norris IOC leader. This is not good.
  3. Jesse's reaction - 2 minute sound bite here from BBC H & W. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02qx418
  4. Why would Parson Brinkerhoff write to jeanharris? They're not the planning authority, and the council gave up writing to those affected ages ago to save the cost of a stamp. Wires are getting crossed somewhere.
  5. It was signed off on 28 April to go forward to a planning application - its going to take a while before that is done and it appears online. Possibly time for a new council to put it on hold before it even gets that far ...
  6. Fair enough. But it is errant officers who should be taking the flak, not councillors. Good to know than that they've already trotted out the old chestnut that 'lessons will be learned'. Somehow… they never are.
  7. This is a council officer error - despite paying for the best - if they had done their job properly - as the best will do - none of us would be debating this and the councillors would have had their rise. So to accuse IOC of being morally corrupt, for something outwith their control, is a step too far, methinks. I would expect my prospective ward councillor to be doing something more constructive than lurking here at this critical time (with all due respect to those that are!).
  8. I've searched the council planning website and can't find it - although it's running at very dead slow today, with lots of errors. I suspect its 'hidden' in the same way as the cattle market application was 'hidden', by attaching it to a single dwelling address.
  9. I would doubt there will be a planning meeting in June - councillors have to be inducted, committees selected and then specifically trained on how to vote on planning applications. The council just don't move that quickly! jeanharris - have the applicants served notice on you that they have made an application on your land? This is important.
  10. Here https://www.herefordshire.gov.uk/government-citizens-and-rights/democracy/parish-council-elections/forthcoming-parish-elections
  11. Do you mean 'The city council parish election COUNTS are taking place on Friday 8th May at the Leisure Centre'?
  12. I would hope they're too busy canvassing.
  13. Well, after tomorrow, lets hope he returns to take it down asap.
  14. Well, if the local elections go the way indicated in this site's poll, it'll be IOC all the way - look at the Lib Dems - who'd have thought it!
  15. Perhaps because 'James is currently the Campaign Manager & Election Agent for Bill Wiggin MP and North Herefordshire Conservative Association. He is also going to be running as a candidate in the upcoming local elections in Herefordshire, in the Leominster West ward' (from his Linkedin page).
  16. Top sleuthing Denise - look forward to the answers in due course!
  17. Whitecross is a PFI school - a fiscally ruinous scheme for the Council, where our highly paid (to get the best) officers did not formally address within the project the inflation risk ie they forgot to factor it in. An increase as low as 1% a year will cost us an extra £7.5m over the PFI contract period, on top of the £75m of regular payments. The former school site has yet to be sold to release some limited funds. None of this will bias the decision making in any way. Cost to build the school = £15m Cost to council = 75 + 7.5 + say 1 for misc fees = £83.5m Is it any wonder we are £200m+ in debt?
  18. It is west AND north of the school - it is a MASSIVE area!
  19. Thanks Colin, reminded me not to go anywhere the town centre for the next few days (although I can hear the screams from people on the rides from my house).
  20. It was very, very good, despite the weather. The addition of the Left Bank and Katie's Courtyard venue gave it a big boost, and an ideal spot to watch the boats from as well.
  21. There is a very weird disconnect in this country between the tens of thousands of folk who turned out for the Tour de France and currently the Tour de Yorkshire - a new phenomena in this country, and yet the average cyclist on the road going about their business is seen as a legitimate target by drivers, many of whom are most likely the same folk.
  22. As we're on trees in urban streets, is it me or is every single one of the new trees in the central reservation of Newmarket Street dead? There doesn't appear to be any buds or leaves on them. There will be a planning condition controlling this, so if they are, they should be replaced.
  23. dippy - you've eloquently restated what I was trying to say! Lets not forget the infamous 'traffic reversal' scheme foisted on us by the old City Council - we didn't want it, it was obvious it wouldn't work, it didn't work, it was ripped up in short order. The only difference with the bypass is that there will be no ripping up - we'll be stuck with it and all the consequences for a very long time. Let's try the obvious first.
  24. Amanda, I've found your posts very interesting, even though I am male! In the short term, it seems to me that properly sequencing the traffic lights throughout the city, turning off some completely and implementing a 7pm-7am turn off on others will be a very quick and cheap thing to do. A bypass/relief road is neither. With a will, the whole thing could be sorted in 3-6 months and run for a 12 month trial period, the outcome of which should then shape the next move.
  25. So, who is going to draw this matter to the attention of the Council's returning officer? As an aside, expensive cars parked at the front of the 'church'.
