Twowheelgood , Hi , do you know if Mr Socket / HCC meet the deadline of the 30/06/16 ?

Ragwert - it's just a thought ( but what do I know ) have these PCSO have the power to move illegally parked vehicles on - if they haven't the conversation between the illegally parked motorist and the PCSO will become heated and , I guess , moves upto another level . If they haven't the Powers hopefully the PCSO passed what they saw ( if they cud ! to a Police Officer who will spring into action..........

Whilst you all carry out the campaign to have pothole etc repaired to an acceptable standard ( which I agree with ) please try and educate cyclists to wear helmets - today I drove along the Tillington Road towards the village , riding in same direction down the hill to the bend where the Travellers used to live was a woman on a pedal cycle , I presume the mother of the child in the child seat behind her , neither were wearing safety helmets , the child was aged no more than 2 years old - I think that was very irresponsible of the mother , I accept that it's a free world but we all know that if there was a collision the child may well finish up,seriously injured with head injuries.

I for various reasons are a retired cyclist - one of the main reasons is the apparent danger of cycling on our country roads , I live 4 miles to the north west of the city , a number of motorists have complete disregard for cyclists , overtaking them with a few inches to spare . Another problem , as I see it , lands fair and square in the Council Highways Dept for not supervision the Utility Companies and others who dig holes in the road for whatever reason and do a bodge job when filling in , quick example is the trench dug across Whitecross Road through the Pelican Crossing by the Monument Roundabout . Very poorly filled in . But who in any sort of Authority cares - it's apparent to me that nobody cares . Keep banging your drum Twowheelgood , perhaps somebody in the Council or Councillor might listen and do something - just don't hold your breath.

Mrs Ubique received a tele call last Thursday from the Building Contractors at the Oval reporting that they were knocking down buildings or part of a buildings and had found a hedgehog nest complete with mother and 4 hoglets in one of the locations that was due to be demolished . They were given advice on how to safely remove the family and place them with the nest in a box and bring them upto the Rescue - this they did a short time later . It's early days but mother and children appear to be doing well . All thanks to the Contractors who were happy to stop work to rescue this family , They could have easily scooped the nest up and disposed it with the rubble . Colin I know that the post is off topic but felt that the Contractors deserved a bit of publicity for their kindness especially as there has been some awful incidents involving animals this past week locally .

Thank you Dilligaf , I now have doubts as to the Camp being named after Capt Bradbury VC , because until 1952 when the Boys Regiment Royal Artillery moved there from Rhyl the Camp had no connection with the Gunners . During WW2 it was used as a Camp to get unfit recruits fit , it was then used as a recovery Camp for the sick and injured members of thevArmed Forces. I am at a SSAFA meeting near to the Museum next week so I will make further enquiries and update this post . Thanks again .

Seeking local knowledge please' I was stationed at Bradbury Lines at the age of 15 years 1 month in January 1957 - until the Regiment moved to Nuneaton Warwickshire in April 59 . My question is , and I can guess the answer but unable to find any definite proof - was the Camp named after the below ? Captain Edward Kinder Bradbury VC (16 August 1881 – 1 September 1914) was an English recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. Bradbury was an officer in the British Army during the First World War where as second-in-command of L Battery, Royal Horse Artillery he led the battery during an engagement at Néry during the Retreat from Mons on 1 September 1914, where he was killed in action. For the gallantry at Néry, he and two other men were awarded the Victoria Cross.

I guess that nobody is volunteering for Mastermind with Hereford Wards as their special subject ?

Mrs U and I received our postal ,vote a couple of weeks ago , we both completed the paperwork and voted OUT . Posted back to the Town Hall a day later . I am therefore finding the hype at the moment very boring . It's to late for somebody to change my mind . What keeps flashing through my mind is that whilst Dave and George plus their MP followers are spending so much time and money canvassing throughout the UK who is running the Country ?

Two thoughts - 1. I will never drive on this road 2 . Again it will not effect me but when the 1500 houses are occupied on the Three Elms Kings Acre farm land another traffic situation will evolve - the traffic both going to the City and towards the Welsh border is very heavy now so I must presume that it can only get worse ( just returned from a lovely lunch at the Monument with my eye spy book of cars and HGVs nearly completed.!) Dippy - love your comment that appears under your posts - so true of a very caring lady .

Leominster 16:27 Morton on Lugg 16:36 Hereford 16:44 to 16:56 Tram Inn 17:06 BUT - IF Trespassing DOES occour, 4472 may well be late/very late/stopped even!.... So DO bare in mind these times, although 'real', could be out-the-window IF Looney tresspassers mess things up!!!.

.he also went on to say that all elfs and fairys would be made homeless if we vote out ! Follow Bobbys advice !
-
Now hope that the Police Officers plus others who told lies and twisted the evidence all those years ago are brought to justice

We fly the flag of St George 4m into the sky attached to a shed every day of the week . Can be seen for miles , we are sure that the pilots that fly helicopters and Osprey in the area use the flag as a marker . Think that it's disappointing that more householders do not fly the Union Flag or the flag of St George every day from their homes .

The City certainly need affordable housing to rent or buy . Surely a concern must be parking or lack of it on this site, the majority of households have / need at least one car parking space , for their own car or visitors / Carers visiting , even the older residents.

Happy Birthday Your Majasty . Attended the SSAFA AGM this morning at the Kindle Centre . The meeting opened with the playing of our National Anthem .

I can recall ( I think ! ) that Twowheelgood said that when travelling along this link road towards Edgar St traffic will only be able to turn left even though the motorist wishes to travel north along the A49 - is this still the cunning plan?
-
And o was going to mention the east west divided by the A49 - but I won't

Victor said ...... What if some group would like to apply for a grant for victims of natural disasters or individuals who seek to open a small business or an organised coach trip for pensioners..... In 2009 I applied to the Lottery Fund for £5000 to help my Army Veterans Association celebrate 50 years Anniversary of the Boys Regt. RA moving from Bradbury Lines , Hereford up to Nuneaton Warwickshire. I must say that it was a very hard slog for a layman with plenty of form filling etc . I could , of course understand why I had to answer loads of question , produce the Associations Bank Accounts , obtain references etc . I was lucky enough to know somebody who spent their professional life making application for high value grant . I have never considered my loss of hearing caused by noise induced hearing loss ( standing next to a Big Bang without being issued with ear defenders ! ) as a disability , I plus 90% of the members of my Association wear hearing aids - it's a disability which ticks a box on the Application Form. Were we awarded the Grant ? - yes the full £5000 , proud to say that all my hard work paid off . Of course , after the event I had to submit Auditted Accounts of the Reunion . Which I was happy to obtain .

Going on other comments in other posts I guess that it has to be said that this location is north of the river !
-
Clarkson .......couldn't agree more , the only North South divide is the river ...the problem is parents and the way that children see what they think is the correct way to live etc. ( I had lived both north and south of the river )

Not sure if the Council have powers to insist that the shop name is changed , unless of course the new proposed licensee is Polish "

So much for Acadamy education ! That's sad when we know that the Skate Park in Holmer Rd has been going well for so long and bringing so much fun ( and exercise ) for the youngsters of this City . Just hope that the kids in Newton Farm realise the benefits and fun and enjoyment this type of Skate Park can bring .
