  1. What I will say is that if you come across a Veteran or a Member of our Armed Forces who need help / assistance please direct them to one of the Military Charities . To qualify for assistance a person has received one days pay. The Charities are non judgemental - all they want to to is help , the help and assistance also extends to their family. Herefordshire County Council have signed up to the National Military Covenant - part of the Councils involvement is to allow SSAFA and The Royal British Legion ( TRBL) to hold Military Charities Help Desk on Tuesdays ( SSAFA) and Thursdays ( TRBL ) at Franklin House Customer Services between the hours of 11.00 and 15.00. No appointment necessary , just turn up . I know that since the Military Charities Help Desk has been up and running 15 months ago lives have been changed for the better , so please be the Charities eyes and ears - there are still a number of Vets both young and old who need help but for whatever reason do not apply for it. The 24hr Tele Nos. are SSAFA local Tele No :-01432 273932. ( 24/7 ) . Tele No. TRBL 0808 802 8080. 24 / 7 SSAFA 0845 130 0975. 24 / 7 Central Office ************ 12/03/16 ******Nothing has changed SSAFA is there to help Serving members of our Armed Forces plus of course Veterans and their Families.
  2. I believe that you have given out to much information Ragwert. This sad premature death is treated as a Sudden Death with a Coroners Inquest in the near future, the Coroner is the person delegated to decide case of death etc. so I believe , strongly , that we should all wait for the true facts to be officially released.
  3. So sad for his family and friends . RIP.
  4. Thanks Bobby for your opinion . Many years ago I decided that I wanted to be OUT - I am still of the same mind !
  5. Will be interesting following these developments how much " enforcement " the Council officers put into this paint job ?
  6. Passed through this junction at about 0845 today , travelling from Stretton Sugwas direction , intending to turn right into Three Elms Rd . No queues , all drivers acting responsibly, easy peasy ! Certainly appears to be a junction where consideration should be given to switching them off either completely or at selected times. They are now working .
  7. Ragwert - think that the HT will soon be wanting you to join their Team as the Crime Corespondent , plus the WMP will be asking you to join their Press Office - good reporting .
  8. Twowheelgood suggestion is so easy to implement, however as the Cabinet didn't think of it ,carried out expensive Consulation ,Visited Cities over the world it's not going to happen.
  9. Until recently I had not heard of the Community Trigger - having read posters say the Authorities have done to nothing to resolve their complaint of anti- social behaviour etc it may be worth reading on the Council website how to use the Community Trigger . It will be very interesting to know if anybody has asked the Community Safety Partnership to review the response to anti - social behaviour incidents - plus their reply. The Community Trigger The Community Trigger gives individuals and communities the right to request a review of their case of anti-social behaviour or hate crime, if they are not happy with the response from the relevant authorities. You can apply for the Community Trigger if: You have reported three or more incidents of anti-social behaviour in the past six months to the local authority, the police or their housing association You and four or more individuals have complained separately about similar incidents of anti-social behaviour in the past six months to the local authority, the police or their housing association The anti-social behaviour incident must have been reported within one month of the alleged behaviour taking place and the application to use the Community Trigger must be made within six months of the report of the anti-social behaviour.
  10. Hopefully the posters who were previously not happy about allowing these youngsters into our Country and now the County have had second thoughts and realised that it's the correct thing to do - I sincerely hope so.
  11. It's a nice change to complement the Council for a initiative - they certainly haven't rushed in coming to this decision . I am sure that the majority of this County will accept these unfortunate people - there will always be others who will come up with reason why we should not accept them into the County.
  12. Nick ,Congratulations, that's really good news and so deserved . The Force will certainly miss you when you decide to retire .
  13. Steve , may I suggest that if you have the evidence that a retired Police Office tipped them off you should inform the Authorities - my thoughts are that a Serving Police Officer in the know told the retired Police Officer who , for whatever reason , if your info. Is correct told the store .......
  14. Bilbobobby Thank you for the clarification
  15. Re my last reply to this topic - having re read the posts I understand that Herefordshire CC have not yet "adopted " or agreed to this initiative in the County - please correct me if I am wrong !
  16. That's good Slim
  17. It will be interesting to have some sort of monthly update as to the number of PSPO are issued . BILBOBOBBY _ hope that you can assist ?
  18. Well done Ragwert , hope the Colin can mark the photo with either your name or HV as copyright ! ( just in case the HT want to use it )
  19. Reading Rogers post on list of incidents etc which happened in the underpass , the Flood complaint of 6 years ago just proves that the Authorities responsible do not really give a rats behind as to the maintenance etc of this important means of pedestrian access to and from the City .i would also suggest that the Councillor that covers this area is also failing in their duty by not ensuring that this underpass is kept in good order.
  20. One of the problems is that there is no safe alternate route other than hopping over the barriers "protecting " the A49 . The barriers are in place to prevent pedestrians from crossing the A49 , guiding them to the underpass . I use the Underpass regularly during daylight hours , sometimes a man is singing Eastern European songs whilst playing a guitar , I have no fear of him . When it rains a large puddle forms at the Eign Gate end covering both the steps and the ramp , the puddle can be as deep as 3 inches so I am surprised that the Highways Agencies ( or whatever they are called now ) haven't placed life jackets near to hand . Seriously, this underpass does need smarting up otherwise the younger fit residents of Hereford will start hopping over the barriers and dodging the traffic to get from A to B .
  21. From BBC Wales website tonight . Five Cardiff taxi drivers have had their hackney licences suspended for refusing short fares. A city council spokeswoman said drivers cannot refuse a fare that starts and ends in the city and the authority wanted to "flush out" those who breach the law. Following complaints, the council has been carrying out an investigation since September 2015. Mystery shopper exercises are continuing to catch drivers at fault. Information cards are being given out and people are urged to take note of the badge number or vehicle registration of drivers who refuse fares.
  22. I read opinions on the EU every day and I can't decide which way would be better for our economy. Honestly, I don't think anyone knows - both sides hold genuine beliefs that directly conflict each other. What I will say is that the ill informed and variably educated electorate is allowed to choose our government every five years so I don't see why we should treat this any differently. Believe for a lot of us it's a gut feeling as to which way to vote.
  23. On the BBC news website there is a list of Cabinet Minsters and Conservative MPs who have declared where they stand on the forthcoming vote , of interest Bill Wiggins is going to campaign to leave the EU . Interesting few months ahead I think !
  24. Having read a few of the Saturday papers my mind has not changed - I will vote OUT in June .
