Yep Cambo , so right , perhaps there is a motive , knowing that during those hours there will only be old codgers etc.in High Town who for whatever reason haven't got the time or the inclination to fill the form in , must say that I didn't find it easy ,and it was raining slightly , the Staff were under cover , us Peasants were seated at a table in the open , although the table was under cover , just . Having said all that I was able to give my support to saving 1 Ledbury Rd.
-
Checked the Council website .........the event is open 1000 - 1400 Cambo , date for your diary , they are back again on Wednesday 23 September in High Town

Well , I went into High Town and reported to the Council Consulation Tent . Gathered in the tent must have been 7/8 Council Staff all speaking to each other - I had to attract the attention of one of them so that I could be given a Consulation Form !. None of the Staff were handing out forms encouraging those walking past to complete the firm ( if they lived in the County ) . Once I had completed the form I again had to attract the attention of one the staff so that I could hand it in . Appeared a miss opportunity , poor briefing to the Stsff on duty ( or perhaps they were briefed not to canvas passing pedestrians .)
-
Cambo , I agree 100% with your sentiments - there certainly is a lot of organised work being carried out . I try and keep upto speed by reading their efforts on the FB site - they are preparing for a long hard fight .
-
I was advised today from somebody " in the know " that the Decision makers have already made up their mind , in the fullness of time 1 Ledbury Rd will close , this would fit in with Cambo's post regarding the Councils update on 1 Ledbury Rd.

Aylestone Voice - I was referring to Clarkester post , not yours , I guess that you younger posters are much quicker than me . Apologises if you thought that I was referring to you .

Good Morning , you must have been living in an igloo over the weekend ! All Dippy and others have been trying to do is ascertain what HAS BEEN DONE over the last 15 years to sort this house out . All we appear to be getting is political answers , say a lot but still leave many questions to be answered . Similar to when Blair said follow me to the promised land and I will make the world a safer place ! Plus of course it has become very apparent that the previous Ward Cllr does not like the present Ward Cllr who received the majority number of votes in May from the residents - why they voted him in or Glenda out is not known to me , nor am I really interested.
-
Dippy , I have to agree with your post 40 - I do not think that Glenda will accept responsibility for not following through the complaint to the end - she passed the complaint to the relevant Dept. in the Council and moved on . Now it's all about " attacking " the present Cllr - who if he walked into the Commercial I would not know him so I have no axe to grind either way .
-
A sad loss . RIP Cilla , Mrs U and I grew up with you , well , we were a couple of years your senior but we enjoyed your music and accent . Must add that the Grim Reaper is a bit of a bast.ard when it come to making decisions as to who, stays and who goes . We all know that the saying " only the good die young is very true "
-
Sent the story to the Hereford Times - think that Bill Tanner is leaving the paper but hopefully another Reporter will pick up the story .
-
Dippy - you are obviously a fan of Mr Edwards, but his track record is not good for sorting things out in the past few years, also bearing in mind he was not seen in Newton Farm or Hunderton for the last four years prior to canvassing for the election in May. You do not have to believe me just ask the people he represented then and now on Newton Farm. ......Glenda , you must accept that for what ever reason the residents of the Ward voted for him .
-
In my mind it appears that neither the Council or the Ward Cllr(s) did enough to have this bad situation resolved . As Dippy said , it was put into the " to difficult tray " to rot , hoping that it would go away . It hasn't , it's been left for others to hopefully resolve . As Roger said , it doesn't bo well for the situation in High Town . Now back to feeding 5 two week old hoglets which somebody took responsibility for and rescued them. Well , Mrs U is feeding them , i am the Runner !

Heard the word " Consultation " many times with this Council , does it make any difference to the end result ! As an aside - today is Minden Day - by tradition the most junior Officer in the Battery eats a rose head dunked in his/ her drink of choice . I will also have a drink to celebrate about 1400 hrs today. ( apologies Colin for sidetracking )

Surprised that the neighbours haven't been shouting from the roof tops to the Council and the Cllr. Plus of course the chance of squatters moving in .
-
Empty for 15 years - unbelievable in this day and age . Surely the Enviroment Health should be having some concerns, as should the local Councillor . Perhaps as it's been empty for so long that the local Housing Association should take it over and a local family should be allowed to move in after it's been refurbished to an acceptable standard .

The below is the Councils Press Release , short and to the point ! Very surprised that there are over 900 people being assisted , that's a very high percentage of the population of the County Helping people recover from drug and alcohol addiction 29-07-2015 01:00 PM BST A change in focus is set to help people with drug and alcohol addiction recover and live positive active lives in their local communities. Herefordshire Council has this week awarded a three year contract worth more than £5m in total to national organisation, Addaction to deliver substance misuse services across the county. The service will replace that currently delivered by 2gether Trust’s DASH project, which provides treatment and support to more than 900 people helping them get off drugs and alcohol and back into work or, training and involved in healthy activities.

Roger , I hope that you will advise Trading Standards re this incident .

Right , we know that this bike was not Bobbys , that's a relief ! He also has had a dig at Dippy and her group , The Whitecross Housewives so where is it going to end . What surprised me is the fact that the Police Community Support Officer had to seek the publics assistance to trace the owner of the bike on HV and not the HT. That suggests to me one or two happenings....... 1 . The bike was never reported lost or stolen by the owner - hence the appeal OR 2 . The bike had been reported stolen , description obtained etc BUT when it came into Police possession a proper search of the West Mercia IT system was not carried out properly

I can recall that in days gone past if the Authorities did not want the general public to walk along a certain footpath at night NO street lights were installed - in the main this ensured that more pedestrians used lit footpaths / pavements to walk to their destination - these routes were , in the main along roads so the added addition of motor vehicles assisted with the feeling of security .
-
One interesting fact I was told today which I believe is true is that First Midland drivers received about £3 an hour more than Yeoman drivers .
-
I must say that I am quite pleased that most of the First Midland drivers and the Companies single decker buses are moving on . Mrs U and I have , for the last 10 years used the bus from our village to the City at least once a week , we have found that since First Midland took over our route the drivers , in the main have driven at a speed which we considered to fast for the road conditions in a bus that we called a bone shaker . I accept fully that there are some very good drivers but ......... ( what is my expertise in judging the standard of driving - I am an Advanced Driver ) Looking forward to Yeomans taking over the route - should never have lost it in the first place .
-
Thank you Cllr Chris for your update ,. Mrs U and I wish you well in your deliberations . We have signed the Petition and will be following the proceedings with interest . This ill thought out decision must / should be overruled .
-
All very interesting - I live at least two and a half miles from the nearest street light - that's fine by me , I can see the night sky and whilst we were sitting outside tonight had the privilege of seeing a very big owl sitting on a nearby building.

I do say each to their own when it comes to choosing religion or not - I am a not person - perhaps it's because I have seen the results of what religion can do in some Countries around the World . ( as is being proved at the moment ) I do recall somewhere that this Church were recently asked to leave the Swansea University because of high pressure " Sales " . My fear , if that was true , is that this Church is warming up to pounce on the new Students who intend attending the new Hereford University. If i'm wrong , not the first time but just my feeling .
