  1. Re 1 Ledbury Rd , just had email from the Petition organiser to say that it has now reached 1000 signatures .
  2. Bobby , I have signed the petition ,will now add comment .

Saw this in Tillington today - I post it without comment !
  4. Paul brings up a very relevant point re the independence of Independant Councillors - I was under the apparent misguided impression that Independant means just that - ie not answerable to anybody . Appears that Voters are only told certain information and that doesn't surprise me . Sometimes we have to stand up and be counted !
  5. Well , this cycle has been looking for an owner at least 24 hours from when Colin posted it - appears still without an owner . Would have been more interesting if the PCSO had drip fed a bit of intriguing information which would then encourage us to seek the answer. ( only repeating the shorter version of Bobbys post ) Very surprised , or am I , that this has not yet made the Hereford Times , perhaps it will be their front page headlines on Thursday .
  6. Thank you Glenda for the update . So the County Council run the Election and the City Council then receive an invoice from them .
  7. Glenda , I do respect your reasons ( whatever they are ) for standing down from the City Council . However it's a pity that you were unable to make your decision prior to the May Election . Every day we read about cuts in Local Authority funding , Recently Bobby put on a very sad Post relating to the severe financial cuts at Blackmarston School and here we are forking out money to hold this Election . I fully accept that the cost of this Election would not have solved the funding shortfall at Blackmarston School but it might have helped . I wish you well in your retirement.
  8. Good point Glenda - but I presume that the Drug Dealers have moved onto another location to do their dastily deeds , a location know to one and all in the area ?
  9. Dippy , your post , once again , was from your heart , as an older person who thought he had seen and heard most things your post brought a lump to my throat - BOBBY - if there is anything Mrs U and I can do to help please tell us ,we WILL be there by your side , rest assured.
  10. Perhaps HHL will refurbish it back to its intended use ? It must have been felt , in the past that there was a need for this building . ( it's tongue in cheek comment before I receive incoming ! )

  12. Very worthy cause Vicar ( de - flocked ) - just proves that you should have eyes in the back of your head or lower down !
  13. Just my thought - this school must be of concern to somebody in some sort of power - it appears that there are to many heads stuck in the sand who are thinking " it's nowt to do with me " they must stand up,and be counted - especially after Bobbys recent post relating to the Special School his grand daughter attends . One school has money thrown at it and another is struggling for money - appears to be an injustice .
  14. Battle won - but not the war !
  15. From Greenknight - Good Morning Bobby.I have kind of lost touch with the mysteries of the education system so any suggestions here come from an aging old fool who can only comment based on practicalities and as we all know these are not often recognized in financial economics. GREENKNIGHT - that's two of us ! So I also have emailed my support and advised my MP Bill Wiggins as I am sure that the students are not just from the City but further afield. Bobby , another well written and very topicial article .
  16. Feel as if I have been living like a hedgehog my wife has been caring for , and just come out of hibernation . From Cloudberry - It's good to see some more Reps are added now. It appears that the Council, are light years behind in adding the Objections et al to the Application , think that they have only added Objectiones etc up to,11 June ! My Objection has not been added to date , please don't ask when I did it - but I did .
  17. FOUND. Copied from BBC WALES A religious relic known as the "Holy Grail" will be reunited with its owners after it was stolen during a burglary. The Nanteos Cup, a wooden chalice named after the mansion in Aberystwyth, was stolen from a house in Weston Under Penyard near Ross-On-Wye in July 2014. It had been loaned to a seriously ill woman because of its claimed healing properties but burglars struck while the woman was in hospital. It was found following an appeal this month on BBC One's Crimewatch Roadshow. The cup is claimed to have been brought to Britain by Joseph of Arimathea after the death of Christ and then taken to Nanteos Mansion by seven monks from Strata Florida,
  18. Last night BBC H & W gave the location as Priors Place , ( think that was the name ) which is by the mini island Homer Rd / Newtown Rd , as Clarkester reported . My first thoughts were that it would be by the leisure centre , if it had been it would have been the excuse the Council needed to slap double yellow lines along the whole road .
  19. I presume that each time Mr Chung puts in a Planning Application the Council receive a Fee so the Council are very happy . You only have to walk past the borded up property by the Black and White House in High Town to realise that the Council are lacking in energy to sort out burnt out property , as well as all the empty houses in the City which with a bit of foresight could be brought back into use and therefore reduce the housing list. So these disused toilets are very very low in the Councils list of must do's . I have read that some Councils are now turfing their flowerbeds to save money - will we be next ?

    Grass cutting

This lunchtime Mrs Ubique and I were set up in an FOP at the Monument Public House . We were in a position to observe the Whitecross Roundabout , we were also able to enjoy our drinks , mine a super pint of Abbot Ale and Mrs U a very nice glass of Shiraz . During our observations of the Whitecross Traffic Island we saw a BB employee riding a sit on mower ( We presume BB latest purchase ) cutting the grass around the island , every now and then the driver dismounted and picked up non grass items , paper , card ,drink cans etc. prior to driving the mower over the grass . We have criticised BB previously but what I saw today proved to us that BB are perhaps trying to get their house in order , it's really quite simple- so well done to the ride on mower driver working on Whitecross Traffic Island today about 1400 hrs. Thank you .
  21. Roger - re the Asda Island Traffic Lights ........many times a day you can see an Ambulance blue lighting it's way through the traffic from its Base towards an incident or to the County Hospital via this Island .....the powers that be think that is , I presume , acceptable. I do also believe that there is a system / programme for traffic lights which can , over a distance turn all traffic lights in favour of the Emergency Vehicle ( s ) on an emergency call .
  22. Grid Knocker- slight amendment to your Para 1 - it was in Washington State , USA where I visited the joint Fire Service ( who also are the First Responders for Ambulance requirements) Police Communication Centre and Base . My friend was a Volunteer Fire Fighter who suggested that it was very cost effective and worked very well. I do agree with your Para 2 , we must not take our eye off the ball in connection with the Working Boys Home..

  24. SOUTHERN LINK ROAD PLANNING APPLICATION ( From HCC website ) The planning application for the South Wye Transport Package - Southern Link Road has been submitted and will be considered and consulted upon by the council’s planning team. As part of a package of measures the Southern Link Road will reduce congestion and delay in the South Wye area and enable access to developments such as the Hereford Enterprise Zone. The active travel elements of the South Wye Transport Package will reduce growth in emissions, reduce accidents and promote physical activity. The new Southern Link Road is planned from the A49 to the A465 (with a link to B4349) The planning application (reference number 151314) for the route will be available to view shortly on the council’s website where the way to make representation about the planning application is also set out. It is anticipated that formal consultation will commence towards the end of next week, following validation and registration of the application
  25. That's the air cleared - now ( hopefully ) onward and upward .
