  1. Bobby , brave and understandable post , Thank you.
  2. Yes , you are correct re size , thinking that the Council have done this for two reasons ... 1. If you are colour blind you should be able to see the difference in size ! 2. A bit of sycoligy , put more in the green bin Was going to say 3 . Cost , but having read so many articles about this Council whereby cost didn't come into the plan thought that it wasn't a good reason - the bins coming from Germany for some reason?
  3. I have had my black bin for 8 weeks - only another 7 weeks before I use it ......!
  4. Bearing in mind who made the suggestion the Decision makers MUST take it into consideration - but will they ?
  5. As a layman who knows very little about anything - it amazes me that the Council haven't learnt about the advantages of Direct Labour - doubt if they are to young to remember the advantages . Surely if you are paying the Piper you have 100% control over him/her , could go on with what appears to be more advantages to the Council but Lunch is served at the Gun Pit ! Should of added that when I say that I know very little about anything - that's not strictly true - I do know a bit about some things but when one reaches my age it's of no use at all .
  6. Stupidflustration said This is the second time he has voted "no" for sending in our troops - My suggestion is that on THIS occasion even the most adverse to war people can be shown the argument that in this case - we should be helping out. I agree 100% with you
  7. Interesting to know where the tests were carried out , if it's Edgar St by the Tesco Island it's understandable . Most , if not all of the Greenest City's and towns have bypasses so. The " offending vehicles " are not passing through the City / towns . I know nothing about this BUT I did live in London during the smog period pre 1957 and must say that the air quality has improved since then so in my eyes it's an improvement ! Rubbish I know but it was worth saying.
  8. The below is part of the reply I received from my Cllr - as I posted earlier -it's a done deal - not the correct decision but a done deal. When one reads some of the replies that Cambo received from Cllrs one guessed that the result was tablets of stone and nothing would or has changed their minds , thought that Cllr the Brig. Jones was quite snappy in his reply , easy decision when you are on the H and W Fire and Rescue Committee drawing very good expenses ! My Cllr is not happy with what is happening but I am not realy sure what the opposition to this planning application can do ? Dear UBIQUE " ................and the cabinet member has said that he will not change his mind over decision; is this predermination of a planning application? To destroy this building with such historic merit is disgraceful. I do not believe that there has been an exhaustive research into alternative sites.
  9. Megillland , from what I have been told by a Cllr the inference is that it's a done deal . I have asked this Cllr if I can put it on HV . if I get permission I will.
  10. Are English Heritage on the list of objections ? That wil give a clue - as an aside I forwarded the EH Objection to my Cllr , the Cllr replied to me , I am just clarifying with the Cllr if I can put her very interesting reply on HV .......
  11. Cambo , well done to receive this positive supporting reply from English Heritage - EH have included so many reason why this application should be refused and has got to make the decision makers think that they should look further than Bath St , I sincerly hope .
  12. Thanks twowheelgood for your explanation . I can now repack the bone china.
  13. Further to my last - I know nothing about Planning Objections - what happens next - will somebody come to my home for a cup of tea and a chat or is that it , they have my objection and it's taken into consideration when deciding what to do - approve or disapprove ?
  14. Pleased to report that my name is on the list - that's from about 3 weeks ago , and I am near the bottom of the list so I presume there is a lot more to be added -
  15. Did mine via the Council website some three weeks ago , surprisingly I found it very easy to do .
  16. Bobby - I am sure that "she" is a very caring person who ( in the main ) has your welfare at heart . Stay with "her" she has probably seen you through many legless evenings !
  17. Called into the Rose Tinted Rags by the County Bus Station this morning , as soon as I opened the door I could feel the warmth of the group of 10 ladies who were sitting at work benches sewing , they all appeared so happy ,it was so apparent to me that they really enjoyed doing what they were doing - and because they enjoyed their work they were benefitting from it. The reason that I called in was to collect tickets for the forthcoming fund raising event next Saturday - initially the very nice lady in charge presumed that I was there to purchase bus tickets . This was the first time that I had any involvement with this Charity - if you can call buying tickets involvement , as you can guess they impressed me . ( Mrs UBIQUE and I have another commitment on Saturday but I am so please that I took the time to visit Rose Tinted Rags and give my donation ) Well done to the Gridknocker and Bobby - hope that it's a super success .
  18. The outdoor gym is a very good idea - however , in view of the flood warning I am surprised that there are no buoyancy aids and life belt nearby.
  19. Well done Megilland . Notice that he is an ex Gunner - the fact that he served in 3 RHA explains a lot !
  20. Tried to satisfied Bobbys demand - and failed , I am sure that somebody will do it .!
  21. Just a thought re the cycle thefts in the City - I may well have missed the articles in the local paper but I cannot recall any press publicity reporting that on average at least three cycles a week have been stolen . If there was publicity with a description of the cycle the general public would be aware and perhaps on the lookout especially if they are offered for sale . Cycle owners may well take extra precaution to secure the cycle . Of course the surgeries may help but I am also sure that most cyclists know how to protect their cycle but for whatever reason do not.
  22. Cambo - you are a Star , as are your friends - thank you .
  23. Prior to returning to Hereford I lived in Torbay , Devon . In 1995 the below named had over 130 convictions for alcohol and anti social behaviour . For his lunch and dinner he used to enter a well known Pizza resturant and grab a pizza from a customers plate . It took until 2007 to ban him from Torquay and Newton Abbot - so he moved to Exeter where his behaviour continued . He is now banned from Exeter City Centre so he has moved to Plymouth where , I am sure , the same anti social behaviour will continue . What is the answer - I haven't a clue - well I have but my opinion means nothing. Skinner has been issued with a Criminal Anti-Social Behaviour Order by Exeter Magistrates Court. He must stay away from the city centre for six months. Breaching the order is an imprisonable offence. Skinner, 43, became infamous in Torquay and Newton Abbot until he was banned by ASBO's in 2007. He has been living rough in Exeter but is now understood to be on the streets of Plymouth.
