  1. Appears that the Council have listened to Biomech ...... Council sign in Whitecross Rd when driving towards the City from Whitecross Traffic Island stating " Road Closed from 1900 hrs" ( on the given dates )
  2. Dippy said " Bad hair days will be on the rise! " ... Not for me !!
  3. Whilst I think that what is happening is wrong and a dig at the UK - the wise people / grown ups have had at least 3 years to rebel but it's all been left to the last minute.
  4. Just a thought after a nights sleep - I would suggest that the UK have more carpets in our homes than anywhere else in the EU so is this another dig at us by the EU ?
  5. Is there a brush on the end of Dippys handle ?
  6. Does that mean three more wheelie bins ?
  7. Dippy - we are only taking our LEAD from you so please stop plugging it!
  8. Found a Which article which states that my 2200w machine costs £28 per year to run and a 1200w costs £12 a year so when my Electricity bill is about £1200 a year doing what they are doing ain't going to make much of a difference to anything or anybody.
  9. Wondering who the sucker is ?

  11. Oh Dear - just checked my Bosch , it's 2200w , purchased with the bigger "engine" especially to suck up dog hairs , and it does !
  12. Denise - you have convinced me - I will try and buy British spuds - perhaps the stores selling , in the main foreign spuds should be named and shamed . As an aside , I saw a notice on an A board outside a Chippy in Commercial Rd " Mixed Meat and Chips " my mind then tried to work out what meat was being used.
  13. Not before time , hope that IOC and the Independants are going to fully work out their plan of action to win the vote and further down the line - failing to plan etc etc
  14. From the Council website Herefordshire is shaping up for the most action packed August Bank Holiday weekend ever with several events happening all over the county. The most notable being the Flavours of Herefordshire Festival and the official opening of Old Market The Flavours of Herefordshire Festival will be holding its ninth annual free family foodie fun festival. The event will feature local producers, growers and retailers along with celebrity demonstrations and children’s activities. The event is expected to draw around 35,000 visitors this year with parking for the event located on the King George V Playing Fields and accessed from Hinton Road The Old Market, which first opened its doors back in May of this year, is officially opening with a series of events over the four days of the weekend. The management team is forecasting 50 – 57,000 visitors to celebrate the opening of Hereford’s newest shopping and leisure facility. There are events happening elsewhere in the county including the Weobley 29th Annual Art Exhibition, Sun Inn Ale Festival, World War One at Croft and Ledbury Carnival . See what else is happening in the county on the Visit Herefordshire website. The events in Hereford City will be fully signposted but you can check out where to park ahead of the weekend on our parking map. If you want to check out the latest traffic information you can use our map of road works and traffic. For those of you wanting to travel into town without the car we also have a map of cycling and walking routes.
  15. Roger , that link you supplied tells a story , the link shows a photograph of one Inspector , one Sgt , two PC's , the remainder if the policing team are PCSO,'s or Specials ( that's an old fashion name ) they apparently cover a very large urban and rural area - not boding well for the future when , I presume more cuts need to be made for financial reasons.
  16. Wondering if the Protection Officers who are attending with their Principal will be armed ? If so wondering if they require UK Firearms Certificates - I know that it's tongue in cheek question but .......... If push come to shove it will be a very dangerous location to be in if one does not know who who a good guy and who ain't . I accept fully that there will be a number of UK Police Officer carrying firearms - and so there should be - but foreign Police Officers in the UK - not good - in my humble opinion - some might say - what do I know - nothing !
  17. Notice that the Police strength has increased by 2500 Officers since it was first announced - I suppose that as the time draws nearer the Plan and deployment does require tweaking , it would be very embarrassing if protesters found a weakness in the plan . Would not like to give an estimate as to the cost. Below from BBC website........ Policing the Nato summit in south Wales next month will be "completely uncharted territory", said the officer running the security operation. Assistant Chief Constable Chris Armitt said 9,500 officers from across the UK would be drafted in, including 1,500 from south Wales. The 150 visiting heads of state and ministers will require armed protection. Around 10,000 support staff and 2,000 journalists will be attending. The visitors will be staying at hotels from Swansea in the west to Swindon in the east, and at locations including Bath, Bristol, Gloucester and Chepstow. The focus of the summit on September 4 and 5 is at the Celtic Manor hotel in Newport, but events are also taking place in Cardiff. 'Discreet' ACC Armitt has been seconded to Gwent Police from Merseyside for the operation, and has been in post for eight months. He said the 67 heads of states and the foreign secretaries who are both subject to armed protection under international agreements meant the summit would be uncharted territory for UK policing, but added the armed policing would be "discreet".
  18. Roger , thanks for the update - once again it appears that the HV beaten the HT for the publication of this story which must be of interest to a lot of people. One wonders why the HT do not send a reporter to the local Magistrates Court -or get a copy of the Court list - there must be a number of cases of interest to the locals - disqualified drivers / curfew imposed to name just two.
  19. Just realised that the first time my black bin is emptied is on my birthday ! ! Presume that's my pressie from the Council -
  20. Just had my black bin delivered Must not use it until the 21st NOVENBER - sure that there is a very good reason why I have to wait 3 MONTHS before I can use it - Is there an answer ?
  21. Earlier this evening there was a piece on BBC Midlands News regarding this Farmers Market , appears , at the moment a one off but it looked very colourful and successful . Prior to Colin's post I had not seen any publicity relating to the market . Certainly very good for local food producers .
  22. And the store benefit from extra income ?

Don't you get the feeling that ( at last ) we will soon be putting boots on the ground for humanitarian reasons , ISIS are savages , a disgrace to the human race . Once again religion of some sort raises it's ugly head and an evil leader decides that if one does not agree to his religion they are killed . Very concerned about the Mosel Dam being in the hands of ISIS - damage that or do not allow repairs to be carried out and the dam bursts it's walls will be another human disaster. All I hope is that should we agree to send Troups to protect the innocent people caught up in this disaster that it's under the UN mandate rather than just us and our apparent best friend ( USA )
  25. Dippy , for info , they are , at last spending money on our road ! Works on Whitecross Road, Hereford 31 August to 3 September 2014 Whitecross Road will be resurfaced from the entrance to Homer Street to the entrance to Plough Lane as part of a £40 million investment in Herefordshire’s road network over the coming year. The work taking place requires heavy plant and machinery and a large enough space to ensure staff on site can work safely. For this reason a full road closure is required. Works duration Works are scheduled to start on Sunday 31 August 2014 and to finish by Wednesday 3 September before the start of the new school term. To minimise disruption all works will start at 6pm and finish at midnight each day. If weather conditions are good, it may be possible to complete the works a day earlier.
