Reading the BBC News this evening to learn that the Alliance between West Mercia Police and Warwuckshire Police is coming to an end . West Mercia Police have" decided to withdraw from the current strategic alliance " it has with Warwuckshire Police . It appears that Warwickshire Police disagree with the breakup stating that it has saved more than £35 million and that they were hugely disappointed. The Forces merged firearms , dog handlers ,IT and Control in 2013 . Just wondering how much it's going to cost WMP to " un merge " the Units . The break away is due to be completed by 8th October 2019

Might be posting something of no interest to others but .............. My Surgery is Kings St / Bobbkestock Surgerys., about 10 days ago I called at Kings St Surgery to book a Flu Jab for Mrs U and me ........advised that they hadn't decided how it was going to be carried out ..........that should have warned me that " Failing to plan is planning to fail " . Today I called into Kings St and asked when I can book an appointment . The Receptionist was at all times very professional and nice , started off by saying that she could fit us in at Bobblestock Surgery , that's fine , we can get there by bus but we will have a two hour wait for our bus home - that two hours will be spent in the Three Elms Pub trying to keep within Govt guidelines , so thank you but no . Kings St Surgery are no doing any flu jabs so what about Greyfriars Surgery at 16.45 , sorry no transport home so it's a 5 mile walk . Right Ho ! What about South Wye Medicial Centre at Asda , can you walk that far ! Yes we will take the appointments , OK we have to walk from and to the bus stop at the Old Market but it's a date . In a few weeks time the medicial profession will be moaning that there a a high number of over 65 who haven't had their flu jab - thereby increasing the Dr and hospital work load - Food for thought ...........perhaps we should have enquired at the Supermarkets !

Colin , I wish you well, I understand that gall stones can be very very painful . What I will add is that two weeks ago I had a cataract op ( on a Saturday ) I was really impressed with the Consulant and the Nursing Staff , came away after three hours overflowing with praise . In fact I emailed the Patient Experience Team with my comments the next day . I thought I might get an acknowledgement stating thank you and that the email has been passed to the Team but nothing heard . That's disappointing. Medicial,Staff superb, Admin staff failing . ( The last time I was an inpatient at Hereford Hospital was 1967 and that went ok )

On Wednesday 19th September 2018 I sent an email to my County Cllr relating to a white line defect in the Parish. To date I hadn't received an acknowledgement ( some say that I should have reported this defect via the Herefordshire CC website - I tried but it was a bit too confusing for me ) As I hadn't receive an acknowledgement for the Cllr I sent a copy to our Parish Council - received a reply from the PC Clerk stating that the County Cllr has been on holiday prior to the 19th September and will be back from holiday next Monday 8th October .The PC Clerk added that the County Cllr , like the PC Clerk does not ack emails whilst on holiday . I FULLY UNDERSTAND THAT - nobody on holiday should be expected to react to business emails on holiday BUT I would have expected some sort of ack. to my email . I accept fully that for security reasons the Cllr doesn't want the world to know that the home is void , but I would have thought that the council can work out a system whereby the sender of the email receives some sort of reply which doesn't suggest that the Cllrs home is void . Perhaps the email could be diverted to a member of Council Staff to reply or send the email to the Dept who will deal with it .I regularly communicate with a CC Supervisor , if this person is away the reply I get is ********** is away from the office until DATE .So I am sure that they could sort out a secure system for Cllrs on holiday etc without breaching security .

Perhaps Megilland can find out how many people have been fined locally for litter dropping ( I don't mean flytipping ) but discarding things like McD containers , betting slips , fish and chips paper and the like ?
-
Whilst it not in Herefirdshire Coventry MP Jim Cunningham has been fined for litter . He was served with a £100 fine for dropping a cigerette on Coventry Railway Station. Reduced to £50 50 if paid within two weeks. Question , who are the Agencey who can issue Litter Tickets , Police or CEOs or both or nobody ?

Herefordshire CC Press Release Herefordshire Council has launched a new publication to share news and information about council services with residents. Produced four times a year, Herefordshire Now will be available on the council website, with a small number of paper copies available through community outlets such as libraries and council buildings. The magazine follows on from the positive response to the ‘How your council tax is spent’ publication, which was delivered to every household in March with council tax letters. Residents told us they welcomed finding out more about the council’s priorities and how their council tax is being spent. Each issue of Herefordshire Now will include news about a range of council services, and information such as details of council-run courses and events. With a large number of people now accessing information on their digital devices, being online means that readers can easily link through to further information and see video content. For people who would still prefer to read from a paper version, copies of Herefordshire Now will be free to pick up from community outlets such as libraries and council buildings. The cost of printing the magazine (£499) has been met by the council for the first issue, however it is planned to cover this cost in future through advertising. Herefordshire Now is available at: www.herefordshire.gov.uk/news/herefordshirenow

From HCC News Environmental Health team, Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and West Mercia Police officers worked in partnership to carry out the planned action at Munchies and Maxii on Commercial Road, Hereford. Illegal cigarettes seized outside Maxii, Hereford Trading Standards seized approximately 8,000 cigarettes from a vehicle outside Maxii. Housing Enforcement entered under warrant, and found persons living in the first floor prohibited accommodation above Munchies, and a further enforcement notice will be issued prohibiting sleeping in the ground floor commercial areas. Enforcement notices are being issued by Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service against Munchies for non compliance with previous advice. One Iraqi Kurd male was arrested an suspicion of being an illegal overstayer since 2011; he was passed on to immigration.

I am meeting a man who is stopping at the Green Dragon at the end of the month with his wife . I will report back his observations . ( I accept that the refurbishment etc would not have commenced by then) As an aside the man I am meeting I last met on the 8th January 1957 , we were both 15 yr olds who had joined the Recruits Troop , Boys Regt RA at Bradbury Lines .

Daily Mail 11th August 2018 page36 ............ Headlines ....Reckless cyclists face tougher jail Sentances . Para 2 Ministers plan tommake Causing death by dangerous or careless cycling a crime for the first time. This would put cyclists under the same legal sanctions as motorists.
-
Come on Lads , to me it looks as if you are both trying to score unnecessary points against each other . Of course I might be seeing your comments incorrectly but I don't think so .
-
Another collosion by a cycle rider on the pavement . Only last Tuesday I was walking along the pavement by Yates , walking towards the hospital when for the second time in a short period of time a cyclist actually brushed against my shoulder as he rode in the same direction . Hope that the lady makes a full recovery and the Agencey that can take action against cyclists breaking the law do take the appropriate action ( I am aware that cyclists can ride through High Town between certain hours )

Sadly Gridknocker it brings to the for ......" Failing to plan is planning to fail " or as I heard many times when I was on strike during the Miners Strike a few years ago from the men and women in blue " Who cares who pays - I ain't "

Ladies and Gentlemen, ( Copied from SSAFA Herefordshire circulation to its members) The annual event in memory of Violette Szabo GC will be held in Womelow this coming Sunday, 24 June. Many of you will be aware of the bravery in World War 2 of this remarkable young lady. She volunteered to join the SOE to work behind enemy lines, was parachuted into France in 1944 but was captured later that year. She was exceuted in Ravensbrusk concentration camp in February 1945, aged just 23. She was awareded a posthumous GC for her bravery. She had family connections to Wormelow, and a small museum has been set up there in her memory. Every year near her birthday there is an event in the village, attended by civic dignitaries and members of the public, to commemorate her life and work. This year the event will meet at The Park, Wormelow (opposite the garage next to the Tump Inn) at 13.30. Their will be a small parade of RBL banners etc which will move off to the Musem nearby at 13.40. All are welcome to attend this event, which clearly has strong military and local connections.

Gridknocker , I agree .
-
I certainly agree that Medical building should be attractive and welcoming , my concern is that is there an increased financial cost involved ? Whilst , I accept that it would be very hard to compare costing of the design of the proposed building and the one that GK has posted can anybody give a ball park figure of , I presume the apparent increase in £ of GK suggestion ?
-
Gridknocker , when I read the No objections comments I came to the same conclusion as you BUT your written thoughts are bang on . Thought that Mr MILLN ( think that's his name ) Objections were again very well thought out and should give the Decisions makers something to consider ( no I'm not joking ) .
