  1. Cambo , I think you will find that if that happens the Chairman then has another vote , one presumes he/ she will vote in the same way as in the initial vote
  2. Dippy , thanks , super , just see Bobby sitting on a bench ,attached to the wall and floor , reciting this poem to a gathering of convicted thugs who have nothing less than respect and admiration for a man who has refused to pay his Council Tax.
  3. Dippy - what about a poem for Bobby plus a chant which we , as a group gathered outside the goal can shout - it ,of course might become "Commercial " so that any money raised will help Mrs Bobby survive whilst Bobby does his time. Quick question with a yes or no answer - once Bobby has done his time , handed back his iPad , Xbox and TV remote control is the debt cancelled ?
  4. From the HT after the Judgevwas told that the Defendant was docked 13 days pay over a similar incident which was not taken to court," said Mr Hunka. The Judge warned Langford not to expect anything other than a jail term. Oh! and Roger I do read and understand comments - if I have anything to add to the post I will . I do not critise other comments orPosters - however I do give my opinion of the subject .
  5. A POLICE officer appeared in court this morning, Friday, charged with having sex with two vulnerable women victims of crime while on duty. Roger said that sex on duty was common place in older days - my question is - with vulnerable women ? - I am sure that Roger is aware of the definition of "vulnerable " in legal terms ! If that happened in his day he should not be able to hold his head high because if he knew that Police Officers were taking advantage of vulnerable women he was failing in his duty as a Police Officer by not reporting the facts to his Senior Officer.
  6. From BBC Hereford and Worcester Police officers fail fitness tests West Mercia police officers among the worst in England iand Wales in fitness test failure rates, new data shows.
  7. The judge also asked if Langford had an exemplary record up until the offences but Mr Hunka Defending said he had not. "He was docked 13 days pay over a similar incident which was not taken to court," said Mr Hunka. Similar incident and he was not taken to Court - unbelievable !! What is sad is that nearly every day one reads about a Police Officer in Court - that makes it very diffucult for the very high percentage of good honest Police Officers doing a diffucult job
  8. I have often wondered too - I presumed that somewhere along the line the Councils found it cheaper in the long run - pensions etc. but heyho , it still appears logically that it should be cheaper in house, not just grass cutting but all the Services that the Councils put out for tender .
  9. Dippy said ......I would have thought they would have "Looked into a suitable spot to put one in" BEFORE the development opened??!! I learnt many many years ago " failing to plan is planning to fail " If I were a betting person I would say that the designers of the OLM "forgot" to plan in an ATM
  10. Flamboyant , I totally agree with you - in fact I put a similar comment on the Grass Cutting saga , perhaps not in so many words but the point was the same - Cllrs must listen to their residents and shout from the rooftops their disagreement . We also have a responsibility to bring to our Cllrs notice items which we and fellow residents are not happy with . Of course we must also praise the Cllrs when they do stick their heads above the parapet to fight wrongdoings.
  11. Twowheelgood -can only agree with you about their internet........for the last few years I have payed my monthly Council Tax via the Council Website , for whatever reason I have been unable to do it for the last two months and had to revert to Allpay telephone system which ,I must say was very easy - my thought is that Allpay must be taking a % of the Council Tax for their trouble !
  12. Cllr Bob, I have the greatest respect for you - however I must say that the Cllrs that disagree with what this Council are doing must shout from the tree tops their disagreement ,they must also tell their Parishioners what the Council intend doing and say what should be done. It's the only way that we can get this dictorial Council to understand our feelings. I know that my Cllr , who is of the same persuadant as you is realising that the majority of the residents are wanting the Cllrs to stand up and be counted. Having said all that , what do I know about politics and procedures - all I have know is if the Govt of the day says do this / do that I have done it without question - my life is now differentant as is my master ( Mrs Ubique ) I do what she says ! ( well not all the time )
  13. Flamboyant - thanks for that - unbelievable or not !
  14. This is from the Council Cabinet Meeting in Jan.14 (b) consideration be given to closing the customer services centre at Franklin House and offering a combined customer and library service at the Broad Street site; I have learnt that apparently this is not an option because the. Library is a Listed Building and the Council are prevented from carrying out the required work . So , it appears that they have take , / or will be taking the decision to close the Customer Services at Franklin House because they appear to have " promised" it to the NUH . Again if this is true and the only contact the Public can have with the Council is via a telephone or computer is , in my opinion ill thought out and very wrong. A good number of the people that use the Customer Services on a face to face basis are the less fortunate in Society who , in the main can only explain their circumstances properly by sitting down at a desk talking to a nice person . .
  15. From. http://www.rudi.net/ Future High Street X-Fund to supports town centre regeneration; more town centre above-shop flats to be allowed Bidding is imminent for a £1m fund to help improve town centres. The Future High Street X-Fund will award the money to one or more winner localities after bids close in December, housing minister Grant Shapps has said. The independent expert panel of judges will include representatives from Alliance Boots, the Association of Town Centre Management, Civic Voice, Locality and Yellowdoor (Mary Portas's retail and brand communication agency). Developers will also be allowed to create two flats instead of just one above shops without planning permission, the communities secretary, Eric Pickles, will announce. As the government prepares for a major new initiative on housing, Pickles will say that the "commonsense" reform, designed to increase the number of homes in town centres, will be in place by 1 October. Under current regulations, only one flat can be created above a shop without planning permission. This will be increased to two flats above shops and financial and professional services premises. The change is part of the government's response to the review of high streets by the retail guru Mary Portas. Grant Shapps, the housing minister, said in March he would go further than the Portas review to relax the one-flat rule to help make town centres more vibrant. Pickles said: "These are commonsense planning reforms that will deliver more affordable homes in areas where there are good transport links whilst ensuring better use of existing developed land. "Cutting this red tape should be a shot in the arm for the high street, increasing footfall and providing a boost to regeneration." Greg Clark, the planning minister, said: "The government is determined to make the very best use of existing buildings to provide more homes as quickly and simply as possible. "Ensuring unused space above shops can be used in a better way is one of the many changes the government has introduced to streamline the planning system and to cut unnecessary bureaucracy."
  16. Item 14 on page 6 of the same Agenda 14. Asset Management Strategy : Hereford Fire Station To advise the Policy and Resources Committee of a proposed arrangement to provide the new fire Station in Hereford and seek approval to proceed with this project through to completion. The appendix to this report includes exempt information. If there is to be a discussion of the details in the appendix the Committee will be asked first to make the following resolution: Exclusion of the Press and Public In the opinion of the Clerk to the Authority the meeting will not be, or is not likely to be open to the public at the time item 14 is considered for the following reason: Item 14 is likely to disclose information relating to the financial or business affairs of the Authorit
  17. Bobby - guess we are two minds thinking alike - however I draw the line at your use of the broom handle . Before anybody says we are mad to vote as we undoubtly have - well we have , and if the result goes the way we think it will we will consider it a vote in the right direction , it's then up to the main political Parties to , perhaps rethink their policies , they have 12 months to bring in policies acceptable to the voting Public.
  18. Bobby said ....."If UKIP don't win this then Im f.uck.ed and it'll signal my bloody end! " Bobby , once again I am with you on this - for a number of years I have used the Postal Vote system - works for me and I am sure that more would vote if they just took up this easy option.
  19. In the early 1990s the Govt. of the day ran a Campaign (with Grants ) to convert the unused accommodation above small shops in the town centres to flats . This worked at the time but for whatever reason appeared to have stopped . Perhaps "they" should consider restarting this initiative . If it can put a roof over a homeless person or family it has to be the way ahead .
  20. I can just imagine a warm summers evening sitting in High Town with the gang ( you know who you are!) a few drinks , good music , good company - what more could you want .
  21. Another interesting story from Bill Tanner about planning and the Council forking out our money on paying costs after losing the Case in the High Ct. http://www.herefordtimes.com/news/11227119._Closed_doors__council_planning_decision_overturned_at_High_Court/?ref=erec
  22. Just hope that the Council re consider their decision - a number of minor junctions entering main road now have very restricted visibility due to lack of cutting of the mouth of the junction. Just wondering if the Council would be liable if there was a collision ? I now have to open my drivers window and listen for anything approaching - still risky as I have to wear two hearing aids . This form of action does not pick up the sound or lack of sound from cyclists.
  23. Fellow Posters, I am amazed at the research that you are doing - it's so remarkable what you are turning up - it's reminds me of my childhood at the seaside looking in rock pools and under rocks , it was always a surprise what you see when you delve . That is so true now. Think that there is a few more rocks to lok under! I want to say a sincere thank you to the researches on this post - pleased to say ,to many to name , you know who you are, however I must say one name , Dippyhippy , without dippies foresight into what was proposed none of this would of happened . There my well be a long way to go but I know you all have the energy , intelligence and willingness to continue to the end.
  24. Just a question - Do any of the eating houses in the OLM allow customers to drink alcohol within their "fenced off " area , if so I think it would be hard for the Council and the WM Police to object to this application .?
