LOL Brilliant Megilleland!

There is something else I find really strange and that's the disappearance of the Chief Executive? Do we still have a Chief Executive?
-
Sorry I am so missing the context of this thread? Dippy you have nothing to apolgise for, if Mr Knght doesn't feel this forum is of any interst to him I am confused to why he took the time to register and inform us? GrowlTiger don't you dare desert the Voice we are honoured that you chose to join us and I for one welcome your contributions. Bobby I await your reprimand, which I welcome and concede you have the absolute right as the undisputed King of this forum to shoot me down but either Mr Greenknight wants to contribute or he doesn't? I'm guessing he doesn't so I would say thanks for the feedback Mr Greenknight we've taken your comments on board, enjoy the rest of your evening.

Dippy, what a brilliant idea! The last comments I saw from Councillors and followed with interest, was a thread on the IOC facebook page. There were comments from, Cllr Kenyon, Cllr Harvey and Cllr Mark Hubbard. Its a topic regarding the bullying of the disabled employees at Herefordshire Council. It appears to be an accusation that IOC or more specifically Mark Hubbard knew of the bullying of disabled staff and chose to ignore it, he states he doesn't remember being told, which I find strange? It's not likely to be something you would forget? That's my opinion but I would be interested to know what others thought? I also felt Cllr Kenyon's response to one of the posters seemed to be lacking in empathy, he seemed very defensive! https://www.facebook.com/itsourcounty I was also wondering if there was some reason why Councillors from all parties had suddenly gone very quiet, has there been an order from the hierachy to stay off the forums? Cllr Vaughan Powell, you read these threads and are highly respected for your honesty, perhaps you could comment? I and other posters value your opinions and your honesty.

Mr Knight, do you have a point because, I really don't mean to be rude but I am obviously missing it?

In the year 2009 the Lord came unto Noah, who was now living on the Wirral and said, "Once again, the earth has become wicked and over-populated, and I see the end of all flesh before me. Build another Ark and save two of every living thing along with a few good humans." He gave Noah the CAD drawings, saying, "You have 6 months to build the Ark before I will start the unending rain for 40 days and 40 nights." Six months later, the Lord looked down and saw Noah weeping in his yard-but no Ark. "Noah!" He roared, "I'm about to start the rain! Where is the Ark ?" "Forgive me, Lord," begged Noah, "but things have changed. I needed Building Regulations Approval and I've been arguing with the Fire Brigade about the need for a sprinkler system. My neighbours claim that I should have obtained planning permission for building the Ark in my garden because it is development of the site, even though in my view it is a temporary structure. We had to then go to appeal to the Secretary of State for a decision. Then the Department of Transport demanded a bond be posted for the future costs of moving power lines and other overhead obstructions to clear the passage for the Ark 's move to the sea. I told them that the sea would be coming to us, but they would hear nothing of it. Getting the wood was another problem. All the decent trees have Tree Preservation Orders on them and we live in a Site of Special Scientific Interest set up in order to protect the spotted owl. I tried to convince the environmentalists that I needed the wood to save the owls - but no go! When I started gathering the animals, the RSPCA sued me. They insisted that I was confining wild animals against their will. They argued the accommodation was too restrictive, and it was cruel and inhumane to put so many animals in a confined space. Then the County Council, the Environment Agency and the Rivers Authority ruled that I couldn't build the Ark until they'd conducted an environmental impact study on your proposed flood. I'm still trying to resolve a complaint with the Equal Opportunities Commission on how many disabled carpenter's I'm supposed to hire for my building team. The trades unions say I can't use my sons. They insist I have to hire only accredited workers with Ark-building experience. To make matters worse, Customs and Excise seized all my assets, claiming I'm trying to leave the country illegally with endangered species. So, forgive me, Lord, but it would take at least 10 years for me to finish this Ark." Suddenly the skies cleared, the sun began to shine, and a rainbow stretched across the sky. Noah looked up in wonder and asked, "You mean you're not going to destroy the world?" "No," said the Lord. "The British government beat me to it!"..

It's like a game of musical chairs, with Councils! Lol

Thanks, Stupidfrustration, I thought it was great idea myself, how clever of the Council to take it on board! I suggested this back in December on the empty shops thread copied above. I think they should donate a substaintial amount of money to the Voice for facillitating their idea! lol maybe they re trying to flush me out lol!

Herefordshire Council Hereford Council Budget for 2014/15 - Help us please!
flamboyant replied to dippyhippy's topic in Open Forum
Brilliant Megilleland ! Can someone tell me what happens to business rates, it's never mentioned and I have often wondered which pot it goes in? I'm afraid it's untrue to state that the Conservative administration are committed to protecting the vulnerable, when they have demonstrated such contempt to the rights of disabled people. Their response in the Hereford Times that political leaders are not required to know about bullying would contradict that statement! How can you be committed to protecting them when you're not required to know about them! If Cllr Johnson and the Conservatives were concerned about the vulnerable, why are they ignoring the bullying going on right under their noses! -
Is he paying? I'm free if he is, can't see any other reason for attending other than a free lunch!

What a bloody cheek they pinched my idea! Will I get a prize? Posted 31 December 2013 Rather than build a University why not convert the empty shops into classrooms turn our town centres into learning hubs? Radical I know but it could work it certainly puts more people in the heart of our city. Our aging population could help by passing on skills and knowledge to our teenagers. I can actually see this working, but I do have some very strange ideas. I like the idea of a learning village, with shops classrooms day care and perhaps some student accommodation. It might attract businesses, selling books, computer equipment, sports equipment, anything students might require all in one place. Just a crazy thought to get people brain storming! But there must be some other use for these empty shops because it's only going to get worse. Could the Council offer an incentive by dropping the rates for the first year? I don't think it's a good idea to simply leave them they are starting to look very scruffy. After all we are in an age of recycling, so let's stop building new and look to recycling our old buildings?

It's like a disease! Can you imagine the good uses all that money could have been put towards! These Councils could have provided something truly amazing for their most vulnerable residents! Has anyone any idea of how hard someone on the front line in Adult Social Care works? My wife worked in Adult Social Care for 4 years and the things she saw would make you weep! Some of these people are so lonely, frightened and vulnerable, she spent most of her time crying and the strain on our marriage was enormous! There were occasions when she didn't want to leave the client but had to move onto to the next person on her list! It broke my heart! She earned £16,000 a year and her boss earned four times that amount and staff referred to her as Atilla the Hun and according to rumour she hadn't a clue what she was doing! It was the most physically, exhausting job she'd ever done and she suffered constantly with a bad back and a shoulder injury but we had two young children and couldn't have survived without her salary. She constantly complained she couldn't spend long enough with the clients but was told that there was no money we had one car she needed for work so I cycled 5 miles to my job! This was in the days of the previous IT scandal when they were enjoying trips to god knows were! These people want to join the real world and stop paying these suits stupid amounts of money to facilitate the abuse of your frontline staff!
