In answer to Dippy's post 'is it possible to post to much?' I don't know what motivates my fellow posters to post or why some posters suffer a burn out and go off the radar to re-charge. I can only speak for myself. I've been asking myself why I post and I've come to the realisation that I post to vent my anger and my frustration! Yes I'm mad and I want everyone else to be mad too and for that I apologise. I wasn't born in Hereford but I love this city and I love the people I've met and the friends I've made and I can't control my anger when I see the destruction of our beautiful city. No I don't think anyone on these pages posts to much if they post with the intention of bringing the Council account for every mistake that saw someone lose their livelihood so some self serving imbecile could climb the ladder and shout from the top it's for your own good we are doing this for you!

For all the Councillors sat on the Employment Panel shame on you!!! Do your research before you appoint people, are you really that stupid!! Where is the freeze on increased salaries and how many front line staff did you dismiss before you decided on these new posts! What in gods name made you believe these two men are worthy of your trust!!! http://herefordheckler.co.uk/trebles-all-round-as-runaway-council-managers-trouser-a-wedge/ https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/payments_to_council_officers_scr#comment-51324 -

No one on this forum will berate you if you have a different opinion to theirs, everyone has a different opinion at some point for one reason or another, feel free to speak candidly. Biomech I thought we were supposed to tell you off... It's a given Lol joking I love your rants they are honest .. Dippy an ode to the King might be appropriate ?

Excellent idea Dippy, people could boost views and posters by popping the link on their Facebook page. It does get a bit daunting though when nothing seems to change!

Petition: Reverse Decision To Reduce Grass Cutting

Cllr Preece can you request the Health and Safety Risk Assessment for the grass cutting/ verge and hedge maintenance. I'm guessing they won't have one but it should make interesting reading if they do?- 427 replies

Petition: Reverse Decision To Reduce Grass Cutting
flamboyant replied to Colin James's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
I was driving to Abergavenny on Monday night and travelling down the Belmont road, there is a pedestrian crossing adjacent to Tesco. I could not see the light on the left hand side when travelling towards Abergavenny because it was obscured by the overgrown hedgerow. This is extremely dangerous! I heard there have been a couple of accidents at this crossing so it needs sorting ASAP! It's fine if you know the area because you know the crossing is there so you look to the right for the lights. If the lights on both sides don't need to be visible what's the point of them! I spent 20 minutes trying to contact the bloody Council today to try and report it but couldn't get a response from Customer Services so I had to give up! I will try again tomorrow but if Councillors are reading this forum get it sorted please before you have a death on your hands!- 427 replies

Petition: Reverse Decision To Reduce Grass Cutting
flamboyant replied to Colin James's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
My neighbour cut the grass verge, gathered all the cuttings up and placed them in green bags. FCC refused to take the grass because it wasn't in Council green bags which cost 70p each! He rung the Council and they said sorry either purchase green bags or take the cuttings to the household waste site! There were ten bags! So not only will he not be spending £7.00 to have the grass removed he said he won't be cutting the grass again! THERE WAS STEAM COMING OUT IF HIS EARS!- 427 replies

Petition: Reverse Decision To Reduce Grass Cutting

Cllr Andrews thanks for the individual replies. It will be, in my opinion, a huge task to maintain momentum in relation to grass cutting. Anyone attempting to organise these groups will need to ensure that any future elected Councillors buy into this plan. Cutting the grass now will set a future precedence for years to come. This is a massive undertaking and organising groups to maintain grass was not something I took into account when I voted for my local Councillor. During the next round of elections is this something I should look for in the manifesto? I want my Councillor to concentrate on representing me and my issues I don't want him out mowing the grass or organising groups! I do not believe local Councillors responsibilities should include grass cutting schedules!- 427 replies

Petition: Reverse Decision To Reduce Grass Cutting
flamboyant replied to Colin James's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
Isn't it time to take a stand? Cllr Powell go back to Cabinet and tell them to look at these pages. Stop trying to organise community groups to cut grass and let's all put our heads together. There are some very intelligent people on these pages and I strongly believe that there has to be a way to bring the wrong doings of Herefordshire Council to the attention of Central Government. Megilleland, Twowheelsgood, Biomech and GDJ to name but a few, put your heads in gear and help us formulate a resistance to this incompetence! Why not form community groups to stand outside Brockington Towers with placards requesting a full investigation into Herefordshire Council. Invite the BBC along if you make enough noise it will be discussed in Parliament then you will have a chance of changing things for the better. Either Central Government will admit Austerity measures are wrong or they will investigate the administration. We need to stop convincing ourselves there is absolutely nothing we can do, that's bull! They want you to believe there is nothing we can do!- 427 replies

Petition: Reverse Decision To Reduce Grass Cutting
flamboyant replied to Colin James's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
I'm sorry I disagree that we should give in to what is essentially blackmail and start forming groups to cut the grass. As stated in an earlier post when the Council stop increasing the salaries of Senior managers and prove they truly do have the Counties interests at heart I will do my bit. There is considerable evidence to support that restructures to cut the wage bill resulted in salary increases in many departments that saw reductions in front line staff! Is anyone paying attention? To clarify - 3 front line staff earning a combined wage of £52,000 lose their jobs a saving of £52,000 'excellent we are heading in the right direction' yes? No! 3 managers then all receive a wage rise of £8.000 = £24.000 and then they create 1 new post with a salary of £35.000 total savings minus £7.000 !! The result, the Council close a service because they've dismissed the front line staff! Claiming they can no longer afford it! I'm not quoting an isolated incident it's happening every single time there is a restructure someone usually a Senior Manager gets a wage increase! Justified by the additional work he/ she will have to do! No they are lucky to remain employed! Now we will be blamed for the deterioration of our communities because we didn't volunteer to cut the grass! It doesn't make you a hero if you cut the grass it makes you a mug and a coward for not standing up to the mismanagement of our services! Councillors should be demanding answers to the statements above. How many directors, managers, staff received wage increases since 2012. How many new posts have been created since 2012 and who authorised all of it? Those figures should be published per department so the public can judge what is essentially a gross mismanagement of public funds. If you find 1 salary increase in a department where someone lost their job then you should launch a full investigation! If one member of staff was made redundant and the entire saving wasn't re-directed to children's or adult social services then someone's head should roll! Councillor Powell this is not a personal attack I truly believe you are between the rock and the hard plate! My warmest regards to you..- 427 replies
