TWG just to clarify I take it that figure of £33918 is it plus expenses?

Sinful and just sheer greed. Without working it out just how much does T Johnson our esteemed leader now get each year in total?

Jim Kenyon/Jesse Norman - Jesse Norman/Jim Kenyon
Denise Lloyd replied to Denise Lloyd's topic in Open Forum
Has Jesse gone AWOL? Or is he playing the waiting game seeing what the opposition do and have to offer and then spring into action adorning the countryside with blue and springing up here there and everywhere? Or perhaps he busy perfecting the art of making the perfect chocolate cake! -
Theresa May Loves Fox Hunting, What about Jesse... Or Jim?
Denise Lloyd replied to Clarkester's topic in Open Forum
Dark days ahead for the fox! However I have seen the damage a fox does too often and to my way of thinking there is far too much emotive talk about a fox . I am not for fox hunting but they do have to be controlled and without hunting I'm sure they do quietly get controlled. To make this an election issue is ridiculous there are somewhat more important issues at stake Jesse used to be a hunt follower I do not know if he still does as for Jim I do not know his leanings on this issue -

I think you will find the video is no longer available. I think Jess felt a little uncomfortable with it. -

Well Glenda your face is fairly well known round and about so Anna has not done her homework very well has she? Minus points for her I think -
Is this going to be a 2 horse race in South Herefordshire? I suspect it will be unless the others can come up with something a little more inspiring. We have yet to see any manfiestos perhaps they are all still thinking. Hopefully in their quest to win nobody will be called a mugwump! We have had a Con PM for 7 years - a Con Leader of Herefordshire Council for 14 years and 2 Con MP's for 16 and 7 years respectively. Whose fault is it? Is it complacency? Are we satisfied with our lot? Or is it just fate?

With the sale of the Council farms (probably one of HC's single biggest asset - I might be corrected on that one) the Council's ability to borrow money will or should be reduced greatly. So where does leave that everything?
-
It is clearly evident that "no one in charge gives a damn" looking at the Council Farm sell off I strongly suspect the full report was not published because it was fairly damning and if it was not FG were not doing the job they were paid to. But there again that is very evident with some of the Council staff!

Jim Kenyon stands for South Herefordshire seat in General Election
Denise Lloyd replied to Denise Lloyd's topic in Open Forum
This might be a stupidly obvious question but I will ask it anyway. Does this mean Jim K now stands down as a Councillor? If that is the case there will be 2 very significant local elections - his replacement and Graham Powell's replacement -
Jim Kenyon stands for South Herefordshire seat in General Election
Denise Lloyd replied to Denise Lloyd's topic in Open Forum
This I received from Jesse - strange the things which he omitted - No 1 Ledbury Road - NHS - Council Farms - Care Services - State of the roads - traffic. Many of which are local to us but to me they matter an awful lot. Last week Parliament voted in favour of a General Election, which will be held on Thursday 8th June. I am delighted to confirm that I was officially re-adopted as the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Hereford and South Herefordshire on Saturday morning. Theresa May is rightly seeking a mandate of her own for strong leadership at this election. Amongst the party leaders, she in particular is getting huge support from across the political spectrum. An increased majority would give her a much stronger hand when it comes to negotiating with our friends in continental Europe, and in resisting calls for a second referendum in Scotland. But my first goal has always been to revitalise our local economy - to build a Herefordshire which combines high economic growth with a celebration of our natural heritage and farming economy, from the Golden Valley down to Ross-on-Wye. I hope you will agree that the past seven years have been ones of real progress towards that goal. Back in 2010 Herefordshire did not have the Old Market shopping centre on Edgar Street, the new cattle market off the Roman Road, or its booming Enterprise Zone at Rotherwas. There was no fast broadband anywhere in the county. The idea of a new university was just a pipe-dream, not a project of national importance backed by significant Government support. Now we have all those things, in place or in prospect. We have been an effective force fighting for the county's interests, by working together at every level, from the Council to Parliament. It has been my huge honour to be your MP - I feel the privilege of it every day, and I always will - and my team and I are ready to get campaigning. But I need your help, to win and to continue what we have begun. As in 2010 and 2015, I will be running a highly local, highly positive campaign. As you will know, negative campaigning is not my style. Two years ago we achieved a great result in Hereford & South Herefordshire. But now we need to do it once again. Now, as then, we will take to the streets, stuff envelopes, hold fundraisers and do much more to ensure that our progress does not falter. There is still a vast amount to be achieved for our county, and for our country. But whatever you can do, from door-knocking and leafleting to putting up a poster or making the case with your friends over a cup of coffee, can make a real difference. Please join me in this election campaign - email me via support@jesse4hereford.com, and together we can make it happen. As ever, Jesse -
I picked one section and chose one farm to look at - it is all such a mish mash some land rented out to a neighbour nothing straight forward all makes you wonder what has gone on and what is going on. You can choose a big house or a small house nothing really emphasising the importance of farmers and what farmers actually produce - food for the nation!

Here is the Farmer's Guardian article without the title and photograph:- Start ...... Decision to sell off the 59 lots was granted in the hope to raise more than £40 million for the council’s ‘priority services’. TFA chief executive George Dunn slammed the decision for its ‘poor management’ and said he was confused why Fisher German had suggested the majority of properties were vacant. He said many farmers with a farm business tenancy would be robbed of their home and business. “Most properties are occupied by tenant farmers,†Mr Dunn said. “The sale of the estate is being taken forward on the basis of a political decision made by a single party Cabinet without full council approval and against the recommendations of the Council’s own scrutiny committee and County farms working group.†Mr Dunn reiterated previous concern the sale had gone against professional advice to ‘retain but rationalise’ the estate and said it marked a sad day for the Council’s tenant farmers. Bad managementThe 1,618 ha (4,000 acres) of agricultural properties currently earn the council around £400,000 a year but have a liability of almost £3 million. Defending the tenancies, Mr Dunn said the liability was down to ‘a lack of planned preventative maintenance’ and the sell-off would not produce best value for Council tax payers but actually see previous bad management used as excuse to deliver a bad deal. But Stuart Flint, head of agency at Fisher German, said the sale, due to run until July 5, would be ‘fascinating’ due to its unusual size and scope. He said: “It is very rare for such a wide range of property holdings to be sold in a single process – and this sort of sale happens once every 10 years or so. “The diversity of what is on offer also makes it unusual as there are development opportunities, big houses, small houses, extensive farm building ranges, properties with river frontages and a very wide range of bare land acreages. “We are expecting interest from institutions, expanding farmers, developers and local agri-businesses, as well as ‘lifestyle’ buyers and people who see this as an opportunity to take on ‘a project’ in what is a really beautiful part of the world.†... end

I thought 24th April was to be the release date - does it really matter anyway yes too depressing for words and unbelievable really. I hope the farmers that have been evicted have found a suitable alternative will move forward and not dwell for too long on how they have been treated like shite by the people who are paid for by the people who have been shafted. Funny heartless old world and unfortunate time to market this land.
