Concerns' over top Cheshire East Council officials' conduct
Denise Lloyd replied to Denise Lloyd's topic in Open Forum
Sorry should have added I assume that this is the same Bill Norman surely there is only one who follows the Council like a bad smell. Strange they have named the 3 already prior to investigation. -
The one that seems most likely to give it a go is Jim Kenyon I can't see anybody else really up for it or up to it
-
Maths are the weak spot for Cons full stop!
-
So they have somebody waiting to go in there on 1st October 2017 - will be interesting to see who or what it will become -no doubt friends of friends
-
That was included in the Sanctuary 800 houses spiel so like the Urban Village it is put on hold for a little while

"In two weeks' time, Herefordshire Council is to sell the 43 farms it owns, leaving 32 families with an uncertain future. In all, the council will auction 59 farms and smallholdings as it attempts to balance its budget. Twelve tenants will have to leave their homes and businesses, with the others staying on until retirement." From BBC Hereford and Worcester today Ragwert looks like you will have to get your counting frame out yet again!.

Just tried to access a planning application whilst the application came up I am unable to see the documents with the following message "Relevant documents Due to an intermittent performance issue we are unable to load the documents. This appears to happen more frequently at weekends, please try again later."End of quote We pay the most to get the best

Whilst I congratulate the tenants who have submitted offers on their farms - well done and good fortune - these farms will not be sold at full market value will they? So is that really achieving the best value for the tax payer? Could this be the reason for the sale of Council Farms and reported in the Farmers Guardian today "for the next 3 financial years local authorities will be able to use any money from the sale of assets to pay for cost saving projects. Previous rules prevented councils from spending money on anything but new assets" Does new road building count as a cost saving project?
-
Why are there long term tenants - duh because the Council have not managed the tenancies efficiently
-
This from Elissa Swinglehurst's April report - "SMALLHOLDINGS SALE You may have read some stories in the press about the sale of the Council’s smallholdings. Here is an update from the Leader of the Council, Cllr. Tony Johnson Preparations for the disposal of smallholdings are now all but complete. In fact we have already had enquiries and offers from some existing tenants to buy all or part of their holding. The total value of the asset will be determined by the market but is likely to be in the 10s of millions. Those receipts will be available to invest in income producing projects or to reduce debt etc. The main point is that this valuable taxpayer owned asset will be used for the benefit of all and will continue to be farmed. At present that asset is a drain on the taxpayer since the rental income is considerably less than the cost of maintenance. We get complaints that the holdings were to give new entrants into farming an opportunity to learn the business. This obviously assumes that the tenants will, at some point, vacate the holding for a farm of their own or as a manager of a bigger unit. From approx. 35 holdings we have had 3 changes of tenant in the last 10 years. So much for starter units! Any holding with development potential will be retained for such development and associated increase in value." I could add a number of comments to this but I think I will leave it for others to do!!

I have known for several weeks about this and it may not be news to any of you guys but here goes. Two points I will make at this stage. Firstly I truly believe it was a great shame that Graham P did not manage to knock Johnson off his throne. Secondly Indies and IOC please this time do not try to compete talk and think carefully how you are go to play this. If you 2 compete we will end up with another Con in on the Ward. Get the strategy right this time!!

Hereford Link Road
Denise Lloyd replied to Colin James's topic in Edgar Street Grid and Courtyard Theatre
This may have already been posted but never mind it can act as a refresher https://youtu.be/3ffoJyMoK9M -
Please now somebody translate What use etc etc. Does it mean we employ experts to produce reports we glance through them but we do not take any notice of them because we know best. How many Herefordshire Councillors would actually understand the term "triangulate advice?"
-
Slim judging by the amount of time JN has spent in Herefordshire (his elected county) he obviously feels the same. It would be interesting to know just how much a MP along with his entourage costs to run each year - it all comes out of the pot of money that would probably be better spent on social care/road maintance. Are we really getting best value for money?

Bobby spot on x

Not quite sure what kind of reaction I will get to this but I will give it a go. With a Cabinet of 7 making decisions that will change Herefordshire for ever - no going back - are our 2 MP's doing enough to look after the county they represent? Two MP'S don't come keep cheap. Do we ever really hear from them? No 1 Ledbury Road/sale of HC farms/SLR/Link Road/bypass/ the list is endless these are county changing decisions and from where I am sitting this Council is on track to run this county into the ground and not only that destroying the appearance of the county. Surely the pecking order should be Norman and Wiggin stepping in and saying steady on chaps don't you think it would be better if you tried this or did this but you don't why? Whatever your views on Paul Keetch he worked tirelessly when the Foot and Mouth was playing havoc in the country - would either of these 2 do this? I think not but you people may see it differently to me.

A little light reading for the weekend https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiD4e_dze_SAhWBKsAKHZ12C_cQFggcMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.herefordshire.gov.uk%2Fdownloads%2Ffile%2F5210%2Fhighway_maintenance_plan_october_2016&usg=AFQjCNGe7_3FdxvjBZ5iUGNZcAoaocvrzQ&sig2=X0uzCsOE66ihC53KlW9rng

Wife of Hereford man to be deported to Philippines
Denise Lloyd replied to megilleland's topic in Police & Crime
Cambo not sure of the relevance of your comment above. The husband of Marinel is desperately trying to engage with Jesse Norman to try to get him to help him with his plight and if you would care to look at No 1 Ledbury Road forum you will see that a contributor is also trying to engage with JN for support. Dam it all is this not JN's role - to support his constituents -
Jesse Norman does not seem to be performing for his people at all at the moment - Marinel Bristow's husband is trying to get some action out of him as well

Wife of Hereford man to be deported to Philippines
Denise Lloyd replied to megilleland's topic in Police & Crime
This poor lady shoved into a detention centre and treated not much better than a common criminal. Is Jesse N really doing all he can to help this family or is he too busy trying not to rock the Parliamentary boat and preserving his career prospects. Has he got his eyes on other career prospects and follow George Osborne's lead? Whatever the reason it would appear that JN is not supporting his constituent. A couple of month's ago an online petition was started to stop a grandmother being deported to South Africa yet nothing for this lady - why? -
Do you suppose Johnson writes what he says or is it placed in front of him to read
-
Perhaps the pot holes are the modern speed deterrents - well if that is the case they're not working

I think it is commonly known by this particular Council as getting the best value for the taxpayer's money - pah Slightly off topic my bus pass arrived today although I had an email at the beginning of the week saying it had been posted 2nd class. Intrigued I turned the envelope over to see where it was posted from - Waterlooville - how naive of me to think these things are done and dusted in house

I am very surprised there is not an upper limit per redacted payment How do they keep getting away with what they are doing. The Indies and IOC really must start talking to each other and come to an agreement on who is to stand in each Ward. Whilst they may not see eye to eye they must realise the only way to get a foothold is to come to sort of agreement
