  1. Got to keep sweet with developers and to pursue monies owed is not the done thing. I wonder how much more has not been paid over the say last 6 years. FOI?
  2. Yet another charity doing rather well
  3. Because a lot of the Council are Masons and as far as I can see to date they have not given a flying fig for the history of Herefordshire!
  4. Yes I saw this last week went to look into it and must have been distracted. Are the Masonic Hall and the Masonic Housing Trust related to the Masons? Must get my pecuniary interests sorted in my mind first!
  5. Yes I know what you mean it did not quite get to the heart of the matter. A farmer has to love what he is doing to do it and it will be heart breaking for these farmers. The 2nd part was better and the Government adviser who was interviewed - David somebody whose surname I did not catch - made the point that Councils had been advised to hang onto the farms. Shame they did not interview George Dunn of TFA but perhaps he feels he has done all he can for the farmers.
  6. Anybody know who the landlord(s) are
  7. BBC1 Sunday 11th December 2016 at 1820 hours Countryfile featuring the plight of HC Farms - bit more bad press for HC me thinks
  8. K Butt well that is odd the person I was talking to specifically asked me whether the shop that has opened in that block is Polish or Turkish or whatever creed. She is usually pretty accurate
  9. Well to be perfectly frank and maybe a little naively if in this country I wanted something along the lines of Polish food I would go to a correctly named Polish shop and hopefully be successful in my mission. I do not know if these so called Polish shops stock Polish food or not I have not frequented one! By the same token if I wanted Turkish food or even authentic Turkish delight I would go to a appropriately named Turkish shop. Especially if they sold genuine Baklava. That is me and the way I do my shopping! So as far as I am concerned it is my take on misrepresentation. We are all entitled to our opinion you know! The shop that has opened where Friar Tuck was is that Polish Turkish or what? Just in case I need to shop there I would like to know what I am entering prior to going in!
  10. People who come to this country and then cannot behave in an acceptable manner should be returned post haste to their original country. Same goes for people from the UK who go to live in another country. I am trying to think of an instance where a British person has opened a shop using say a Chinese logo or whatever - I can't so why are these people being allowed to do it - surely it is misrepresentation and why are Trading Standards allowing it - why? Not wishing to sound racist but if a British person opened a say Kurdish shop and it caused unrest surely then that person would be accused of being racist I just do not understand that it is being allowed and worse than that that it is causing unrest with out Polish community who I have a lot of respect for
  11. TWG if you do not know where the 106 monies go to then there is not much hope for the rest of us! My understanding is that the Council in their wisdom say to the Ward Councillor how much of the 106 is available for parish and then the money is applied for and if passed eventually after spending the money and presenting the invoices the 106 is paid over. Hope that is right but if not please correct me. It is a very dark area for many!
  12. Well done I just came on here to ask what had happened and pleased to see this. As a matter of interest who was the Councillor who voted to refuse refusal might as well name and shame! I must admit Cllr Greenow comes out in strange places I know he was very supportive and very understanding of the objectors to the WHD development and spoke very well then.
  13. https://wirralleaks.wordpress.com/2016/12/06/the-common-people/ The words Grant Thornton immediately caught my eye and the surname Norman. I will read some more later
  14. It would appear that it was not something that happened today so obviously not breaking. The guys who run these shop must be useful in some way because they just keep popping up somewhere else in the city. Off topic slightly just been talking to somebody who also holds HC in high regard and he brought the subject of charity shops in town up. I was surprised (or was I) British Heart Foundation (if that is the one on the corner opposite the Kerry) occupy their premises rate free and because they are a charity do not pay tax yet they buy in new furniture to sell so they are really more like a normal shop. A lot of charities do do a wonderful job but this does not seem quite right morally somehow.
  15. I am unable to copy the breaking H & W news published a couple of hours ago so I will type it out "240,000 cigarettes have been found hidden inside boxes of disposable barbecues after a police raid on two shops in Hereford" i do not know which shops are involved
  16. It is like people who live next to a Church and object to the church bells or people who move to the countryside and don't like the noise the farm animals make. The list is endless. There is no answer these people will object whatever

  19. "NEW homes and an apartment block are to be built near to Herefordshire Council's former Brockington headquarters. The council's planning committee approved the scheme – which includes two four-bedroom and two three-bedroom detached houses as well as a three-storey apartment block – on land east of Brockington House and the former council chambers. The committee heard there were a number of individual and group Tree Preservation Orders affecting the site, which is also within the Hafod Road Conservation Area. Councillor Terry James highlighted a particular tree planted some time ago in memory of a young council officer who tragically died. He was given assurances that all possible would be done to locate the tree and either retain or replant it. Cllr Anthony Powers added: "I was surprised to see this was still council-owned land, which is why it's come to committee. I understood it had been sold and the capital receipt was in but obviously not." The scheme was unanimously approved." The above taken from the Hereford Times 7.11 16 which is no surprise and as long as it is sympathetically done will be a good job done. However what does surprise me is Anthony Power's comment that it was at the time of the meeting still council owned property. Is it normal practice for planning to be applied for prior to paying for the property? A classic case of pass it or you don't get your money
  20. For building new roads or mending the pot holes?
  21. Yes that is the one TWG commented on the fact that there were 4 quarters but they only mentioned 3. It was either ipusseycat..... or Maggiemay who posted it originally but I am sure it was a lot more lengthy and glossy and it was still work in progress
  22. This leaked document I am sure appeared on HV a couple of months ago - I might remember where later on - it made for good reading then and the money will come from ??
