  2. However as per Here for Hereford (who do not normally miss a trick) the SLR has to be on the basis that it is a stand alone project and NOT part of the bypass - read on "The Southern Link Road Cannot be Assessed as Part of the Hereford Bypass Posted on October 19, 2016 by Liz Funding for the South Wye Transport Package has always been on the basis that the road from the A49 to the A465 and continuing to the B4349 Clehonger Road, is a stand -alone project. This was made very clear by the Department for Transport in their meeting with Herefordshire Council on 13th October 2015 (see full meeting minutes here ) Herefordshire Council confirms that work on the Business Case for the scheme is based on this stand-alone assumption. Since Herefordshire Council granted itself planning permission for the Southern Link Road, Councillor Philip Price, Cabinet member for overseeing delivery of this transport package has repeatedly stated that this road is the “first stage of the Hereford Bypassâ€. This contradicts the Department for Transport who retain oversight of the project and will not approve the final business case for the whole package of transport measures in South Wye until final cost estimates have been prepared. It will be interesting to hear how the Southern Link Road is referred to at the Cabinet meeting 2pm tomorrow when Herefordshire Council seek to approve the use in principle of Compulsory Purchase Orders for land and properties affected by this “Road to Nowhereâ€. The meeting will also approve a further report to be prepared to “consider the business case for the purchase of properties outside of any proposed CPO boundary†so even those with homes and land not directly affected by this road scheme could subsequently face a CPO if the Council feel they have a business case."
  3. It will hit the papers now that it is on here! Somewhere in the back of my mind I am sure I have recently heard on the radio something about these types of schools

  5. The difference is probably whether the land is being bought as agricultural land or land with development potential. Mind you as we all know HC are not best at getting their sums right especially when it comes to costs of road building.
  6. One more I have just been sent this link which probably explains a lot https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjT8oX4uubPAhWCxxoKHWyBAhYQqQIIJDAB&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.theguardian.com%2Fbusiness%2F2016%2Foct%2F17%2Fdiesel-farms-set-win-lucrative-contracts-back-up-national-grid&usg=AFQjCNHm_71epa83mdrI34bGL_07OgZu_w&sig2=tUzId6HaHeSFkROsSLrCSw

  8. Thank you so very much both TWG and Megilleland. Herefordshire is very fortunate to have people like you who are prepared to give your time and knowledge for free. As you say it is a mystery that the Planning Dept have put this application up for consideration - perhaps their pending move was causing confusion but questions should be asked and hopefully our Ward Councillors will step up to the mark. Many residents have been and are being caused quite a bit of upset and worry and if this is just a speculative app that should not have gone this far well it is disgraceful
  9. Well the director/owner of the company is director of 71 companies so he has obviously set these companies and is a very busy boy can't somehow believe he is flying this venture solo. Well done you 2 - was this another reason for the big push on the SLR?
  10. Herewith a copy of a letter being passed to local residents - name and address withheld and permission has been given for me to publish the letter Dear Neighbour, Planning Application P162770/F Have you noticed that a planning application is before the County Council to build and run an electricity generating plant halfway between you on Brampton Road and ourselves on Stoney Street? The ugly block of the generator, in its cladding , covers not far short of the area of the Parish Church and will be topped by ten chimneys 13 meters (or 43 feet) high. It will burn gas to make electricity whenever it is fired up – 4 hours a day averaged across the year. The smoke it produces will carry nitrous oxides, not good for us but very damaging to fruit and forest trees because nitrous oxides mixed with any rain turn into Acid Rain It will be noisy always and will have flood lights fixed at 30 feet above ground. The applicant STOR 112 Ltd have only existed since 19 April 2016, have no accounts, won’t submit any until 2018. The man handling STOR 112 did not have British nationality until 19 April 2016 either. The Serious Fraud Bureau at police headquarters in London seems to find the case interesting. Do look up STOR 112 Ltd – they and the builders are private firms, making a profit at your expense – and then write to the County Council asking them to defer the issue while you can all seek information, (originally the Council notified just one person!) – perhaps even legal advice. Having this monster in view all the leafless winter months will surely cut the value of your home. THE COUNTY COUNCIL HAVE SET THIS FRIDAY AS THEIR ‘TARGET DETERMINATION DAY’ FOR THIS CASE – DEMAND A POSTPONEMENT WHILE YOU SEE HOW YOU ARE AFFECTED – AND RAISE ANY OBJECTIONS YOU HAVE. PLEASE ACT TODAY, TOMORROW MAY BE TOO LATE!
  11. An application has been submitted for an electricity generating plant in Stoney Street Madley. On viewing the application it was generally felt that this was a small fry operation but the enormity of it is just hitting home to many me included. To get a better picture of it I suggest anybody interested should read the objections and in particular the one from John and Anne Harrison. HC have set a target determination date for this PA as Friday 28th October 2016. It is thought the block housing the generator will be bigger than Madley Parish Church with 10 chimneys at a height of 13 metres - now that will be a blot of the landscape!! Number P162770/F Historic Reference Number Current status Valid Type Planning Permission Location Land off Stone Street Nr Madley Hereford Proposal Small Scale Gas Fired Energy Reserve Facility and Ancillary Infrastructure Parish Madley Ward Stoney Street
  12. I am not absolutely certain the above comment is as factual as it should be I have merely copied it over from FB
  13. P163069/F for those of you who would like to object or perhaps even support this vile blot on the landscape. No doubt it will be pushed through as being something Hereford really needs and viewed as a forward thinking project
  14. It's Our County 2 hrs · Cabinet approve Fisher German Report recommending Herefordshire small holding sell-off plans. Fisher German recently sold cabinet member Patricia Morgan's farming estate for well over its multi-million asking price.
  15. TWG well done where I failed you succeeded!

  18. Hoople Ltd â€@hoopleltd 2h2 hours ago Interim Head of Corporate Asset Management, Hereford, Public Sector & Government http://idi.to/3K2i #jobs #hereford At £350.00 per day a nice little earner for somebody. I think I am correct in saying this is Tony Featherstone's post obviously handling of the sale of the Council farms amongst other high profile asset disposals has proved too much.
  19. http://www.herefordtimes.com/news/14791383.Row_over_council_financial___39_errors__39_/ and still it rumbles on
  20. Easy mistake to make and I apologise if I have caused offence to any member of FC with my comments.
  21. http://www.herefordtimes.com/news/14780744.Concerns_raised_about_the_pressure_on_parish_councils/ Colin you could always have a say on here
  22. Never a good idea to upset local suppliers. Suppliers will be a little more cautious selling to anything connected to FC in future. No doubt their takings will drop on a Sunday. Never mind I expect Mummy and Daddy will step up to the mark and pay off the debts out of their takings in Cardiff - mind you it might mean a few less trips overseas. I thought Cornerstone was part of a larger organisation.
  23. http://councillors.herefordshire.gov.uk/documents/s50041006/Appendix%201%20-%20HC%20Phase%201%20Report.pdf No doubt this will be nodded through next week
  24. That is already £58000/flat cost but that is excluding the shop fronts - they will not be cheap flats then You may wish to correct my maths!
