Not having a sub to the M J Co Uk I can only get the first couple of sentences to this article Herefordshire quizzed over recent resignation By Dan Peters | 27 September 2016 Opposition councillors have called for Herefordshire Council to explain the circumstances behind the resignation of its suspended director of resources. The council has been tight-lipped about the case of Peter Robinson, with chief executive Alistair Neill pleading with councillors not to talk about the authority’s investigation into the former Bristol City Council finance director. and this one Council silence over resource director’s status By Dan Peters | 06 July 2016 Herefordshire Council has refused to answer questions about the status of its director of resources Peter Robinson amid claims he has been suspended.Emails to Mr Robinson have been generating an automatic request for them to be forwarded to his colleagues for weeks. The response read: ‘Peter Robinson is currently away from the office and emails are not being monitored.’ Anybody out there with the full report of either of these? -

In case readers of this forum are not aware HC in their wisdom have now made an appointment albeit temporary http://www.herefordtimes.com/news/14775712.Interim_finance_director_approved_for_Herefordshire_Council/?ref=mr&lp=20 -
Flicking through the hefty document that Maggie May left a link for of which I am quite sure we were not supposed to have sight of I see HC are pledging to continue their financial support of Holme Lacy/Worcester Uni
-
Following on from TWG's comment alongwith mine on the HC Farms forum I was not totally sure that Holme School of Ag was still open. A quick look on their website it seems it is very much open and working alongside Ludlow College of Ag and the University of Worcester. http://www.hlcollege.ac.uk/College/hereford-university-centre.html# Why does the new university and the Univ of Worcester not just join forces surely it would be a cheaper option. I do not understand the need to spend spend when is it really necessary?

With over 600000 youngsters expected to join the farming industry(either in a conservation capacity or a food production capacity) in the 4 years leading up to 2020 and with such excellent agricultural colleges nearby have HC in their capacity as caretakers of what is fundamentally an agricultural county missed one hell of an opportunity? Not forgetting the planned Uni - you had it all on a plate to do something to make this county wonderful again!!
-
TWG i absolutely agree with you I should have put Herefordshire Council I normally do when referring to the shower that are supposed to look after our souls. Only just received my HT it was indeed a slightly odd letter obviously HC are about to do something more to upset the public. Could not quite work out whether he was speaking personally or on behalf of Hereford Council

TWG/Dave Whitehead Am I naive in assuming Mrs Chave is as in Chave and Jackson. Yet another bequest that HC have treated in the correct manner! Adamski because this building is in a conservation area and is Grade II listed there are certain limitations as to it's future. But there again it's past upkeep should have been within the guidelines of a conservation area and a Grade II listing but I will say no more on that subject. MaggieMay the document you managed to land in your lap is only in draft form and more than likely not for the general public. Good find thought! Only briefly looked through it last night and all I can say at this stage is I wish I was on the same stuff that the authors of the document are most definitely on. Just how much has this novel cost to produce?

Yet another asset of the county has been put on the market. How did the Council come by these properties - were they purchased as an investment when they were going cheap were they bequeathed or were they bought to be used when the Council is as cash strapped as it is now. Anybody know? Whatever the reason the less assets on the books the more the interest on the cash borrowed of which there is plenty. Moor House Hereford a beautiful Grade II listed mansion. There are prestigious estate agents in Herefordshire yet the Council continue to source out of county professional services so even the selling fees do not stay in the county https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ui=2&ik=470d858353&view=att&th=1574781c3ce81ba6&attid=0.1&disp=inline&realattid=c9febf08f0f5a5e_0.1&safe=1&zw

Some interesting new comments are being added on the HT article http://www.herefordtimes.com/news/14731904.Opposition_leaders_on_Herefordshire_Council_call_for_more_transparency/ If anybody who knows how to open the link referred to in the one comment I would not mind some pointers -

You could spend hours lost in the disjointed labyrinths of the Council's website trying to find who the monitoring officer is - I did, and I couldn't. yes indeed TWG I found a Claire or from memory there is Dwayne or Duke or something who is partner in a law firm from the Northern direction and is doing a lot of work for HC .Pete Boggs - well I do so hope he is under investigation he was handling public money - our money - and I doubt whether he was working alone Perhaps Glenda could throw some light on all of this speculation - I often think speculation is a whole lot worse than the actual truth sometimes. In fact why don't the people we pay to do a job stand up and make an honest no holes barred statement - -

"chief executive, the leader of the council and the council’s monitoring officer – with support from outside investigators." to put names to the officials responsible for the investigation - Alistair Neill Tony Johnson and can't remember his name -
Everybody eventually runs out of rope in the end you mark my words! So many of these Councillors seem to be sooo afraid at the moment shame. Whilst I have reasons not to care for Mark Hubbard he did stand up and speak out but even ones like Jim Kenyon seem to have become suppressed WHY and HOW?

Passed 8 votes to 5 oh well despite everybody's best efforts
-
Planning Committee for this today good luck to the speakers but I rather think this is yet another done deal
-
"but hey, it worked well at Kington didn't it?" just in case people do not read the HT no it is not working well in Kington despite all the raz ma taz at the opening and the appearance of various Councillors

Problems with adding up must be endemic in Herefordshire - can't believe I put £24000 the figure should read £500000.00 that is FIFTY THOUSAND POUNDS -

No letter so will have to wait until next week. HT Opinion has now put the ball firmly in the court of the oppo's to start asking some very serious questions so we will wait and see. 5 months full pay no production has cost us the tax payer £24000.00 plus. Can HC really afford to pay up for these cock up's time and time again? Who is employing these people? -

Consider this a person on £120k pa plus other benefits is accused of malpractice - he is innocent he resigns and walks away with a payout - but if he was innocent why would he resign and not stay and fight for his good name or alternatively he is guilty but he could take people down with him (and his accusers know this and the damage he could cause) he accepts a payout or hush money and resigns Did this also happen with Norman? -
Enforcement Officers are dropping like flies at HC and typically they are having trouble recruiting reinforcements No it has certainly been very quiet on the FC front no doubt they are continuing to get their foot in every single lucrative door they can
