  1. Some more hedgehogs saved well done to one and all concerned and well done to Mrs Ubique without her expertise these hedgehogs would be even more in peril.
  2. And a bit more loyal eh? It is really quite sad I would say that Corbyn is probably one of the most sincere of the pile of them. Because of his sincerity he does not do the rough and tumble of his treacherous once time so called mates. How things have changed in just one week when they were all so respectful in memory of Jo Cox. Such short memories such a shame
  3. Will a new Party emerge in the next few weeks? Labour is buggared so if/when there is an election the Cons will win again.
  4. And of course the promise of a General Election sooner rather than later. Local opposition please start gathering your troops and get it right this time!! Ragwert I think I will have to listen to the radio you listen to all I hear is negativity on my radio
  5. I woke up at about 2 o'clock this morning put the radio on and heard more or less what I needed to know. Dozing/waking for the next few hours I woke up at sometime to hear a male being interviewed who let slip the f word - in the context of f... the benefits. It was auto bleeped out and nobody commented on his slip up. I wonder was I the only one to hear that but it did make me smile at the time. Sad old git that I am! David Cameron is not somebody I care for but over the 6 years he has had to tackle some enormous challenges and nobody can criticise him for lack of effort. I do not blame him for wanting to get out of the viper's nest and spend some time with his wife and family Good luck to him he tried.
  6. Please no
  7. Maggie May no sorry I wish I could explain perhaps one of the Councillors who voted it through would like to come on here and explain it. They after all were obviously privy to all the information prior to voting.
  8. Willows are amazingly resilient it was apparently split down the middle but had it been out in the open countryside it would have probably recovered and lived on for many years. That tree was one of the few pleasant things in that particular area.
  9. More problems with the sums this from Here for Hereford ↠What is the True Cost of the Southern Link Road to date? Is there a £7 Million Hole in the South Wye Transport Package? Posted on June 21, 2016 by Liz The South Wye Transport Package (SWTP) Outline Business Case submitted by the Marches LEP to Central Government described the following components as key elements of the project:- New link road linking A465 with A49 (the Southern Link Road); Pedestrian crossing improvements to Belmont Road and A49 in Hereford urban area; Cycle and walking provision on and off road at A49 and A465; Residential cycling schemes in Belmont and Bullingham. This Outline Business Case also provided a breakdown of the Capital costs for the full South Wye Transport Package as:– A465/A49 Southern Link Road £29,729,000 A465 public realm scheme (to reduce severance and promote active travel) £3,000,000 Cycle & walking schemes in Belmont area £1,000,000 Cycle & walking schemes in Bullingham area £1,000,000 TOTAL COST £34,729,000 Funding for the scheme was approved by Central Government on the basis that the Department for Transport would grant £27 million and Herefordshire Council would match fund the remaining £7,729,000. In February 2016 Herefordshire’s Full Council Meeting agreed its Medium Term Financial Strategy (MTFS) for the period 2016/17 to 2019/20 ( Herefordshire Council MTFS 2016/17 onwards ). The MTFS document listed the various capital programmes the Council seeks to fund, up to and including 2019/20. This includes the South Wye Transport Package (SWTP), which is to be funded across the years as follows (page 14 of MTFS):- 2015/16 £1 million, 2016/17 £1 million 2017/18 £12.3 million Future Years £12.7 million Total of £27 million. This means there is a shortfall betweeen the MTFS budget and the South Wye Transport Package (SWTP) Outline Business Case of £7.729 million, the amount Herefordshire Council committed to provide to secure the £27 million Local Growth funding from Central Government. Will the Government withdraw its’ £27 million grant for the South Wye Transport Project without the contribution Herefordshire Council promised to secure the Local Growth Funding? Could this explain why the Quarterly Monitoring Returns that Herefordshire Council officers have submitted to the Department for Transport show a cost of the SWTP project of £32.601 million with Herefordshire Council contributing £7.9 million. This is despite the Budget for the SWTP agreed by Councillors in December 2015 and again in February 2016 excluding any contribution from Herefordshire Council.( 160504 Q4 Quarterly Monitoring Report 15-16 submitted by Herefordshire Council to the Dept for Transport1.1.2016 to 31.3.2016 ). What is the actual budget that officers are working to in Herefordshire Council and what is the project cost the Department for Transport are funding? If it is the £27 million agreed and adopted by Councillors, how will the full scheme be delivered, including the sustainable transport measures, on top of the cost of a road, now extended to the Clehonger road? If Herefordshire Council’s budgets are the correct figures, with the SWTP project funding cut by 22%, it would make sense to proceed with as many of the sustainable transport measures possible, ahead of any road building work. The sustainable transport measures will generate bigger benefits to existing residents, have a much higher return on investment and provide better value for money for tax payers than road building.
  10. Yes indeed TWG there are some real dodgy surfaces and characters in the Clehonger/Kingstone I did not know your route covered this way. There have been a lot cyclists out and about this week - tis that time of year just need the weather! Well done both of you no doubt you are both some of the better mannered ones on your bikes. Hope you took a photo of the pavement being resurfaced!
  11. No doubt NPS are some of Robinson's cronies and used to going massively over budget safe in the knowledge they will still be paid and thank you very much. I do feel very sorry for the genuine hard working staff at HC it must be very demoralising to see all this going on and remain helpless to do anything - a job is a job. However the vote goes next week I hope beyond hope that Councils are put back in order with salaries in line with the county's average and honest people without hidden agendas are employed but that is fairy tale world isn't it? The opposition parties really do need to start getting their acts together and challenge challenge challenge
  12. Good opinion in HT of this week hope this now works https://mail-attachment.googleusercontent.com/attachment/u/0/?ui=2&ik=470d858353&view=att&th=155591306ecb14e4&attid=0.1&disp=safe&realattid=f_ipi95bck0&zw&saddbat=ANGjdJ9zD0pmAOjhF5-MXNFYYobeVBZfboF3UnJUeoX5z9ZGEE-dHoFkmTIleEmKQh1_nDmAzxPLP-CQdBDqBlb3qCfxYthKzlAp5xCOrbLTOReLZ12zHOlf32RZFzHeRPPBA2MIaoc3SNhJ9FRbji3D9bl8OObQYdu_lWaSxNURFyu7Huw697wZb6wPnnoyiFYE4ygEJbr72n9HI1PgAKB6Px_J91hX19E_BeIYQiwpQVODsphxu-77okSFj-EKmNZoQSnmE-V4_7Ap9OkkgO7dO4pvVpa4jzfuIVmxE0SiMShA0tjzQj3h9E71LTzpyB5wzZTW0AQ3YFvq80Nrb-eT_pmajVtHPGspiheuz8ngM3mQH56WM_oASms1gvUU1DWKIpTwMZhiajDUJybUqeFucsGuqQfNCAPMWB4dHsSC1qpDZN5-xBLO9QE1AQdEGl9b_4nMLyeOgclnulrraYfFRmJ4Zm57UparCYPT64WExtIHhxJKEGczI_J6FhxZtCPXX3yg_BK8Xc6KWZTrJcCPHdi9QD-CxGthHqSr_jm4blFrBq5dFEaz1j6DVkXAxLO8tO-J655RdEoWVYwbcEBX9FxAX5H2QwVN4w8bVxY89Uw1Lz9b4T4qfdX2WMnVDrkpvWjr63uBMUtxitpG Good seems to work ok
  13. Call for Hereford Link Road Rethink We've written to Greg Clark MP, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, asking him to call in Herefordshire Council’s decision to approve the controversial Hereford Southern Link Road. In his letter to the Secretary of State, Campaign for Better Transport's Stephen Joseph set out the many grounds on which we objected to the link road, not least that it is a waste of public money, creating a lot of harm for little or no benefit. In addition it will result in considerable loss of best and most versatile agricultural land, lead to the loss of ancient woodland and destroy an Iron Age settlement, and increase pollution, yet do very little to relieve traffic in Hereford, given that only 15% is through traffic. There are positive alternatives to the new road: "... other more sustainable and less damaging alternatives to a new road were not properly considered. Given that 85% of all traffic is heading into Hereford itself and not through it, there should be plenty of opportunities to reduce this through a series of measures to improve the infrastructure for pedestrians, cyclists and public transport. In doing so, this is likely to make the centre of Hereford a more attractive place which would strengthen the local economy." Its clear that the Link Road conflicts with the National Planning Policy Framework principle to “actively manage patterns of growth to make the fullest possible use of public transport, walking and cycling, and focus significant development in locations which are or can be made sustainableâ€. The full letter is attached below. Campaign for Better Transport is just one of many groups objecting to the Hereford Southern Link Road, alongside Natural England, Historic England, the county Wildlife Trust and the Woodland Trustas well as local groups Here for Hereford, Hereford Transport Alliance and the local MP. Meanwhile at the same time as Herefordshire is under fire for approving this damaging road, the council is also cutting vital local buses. All this from a Council that sets as its goal to "work together within an outstanding natural environment, bringing about sustainable prosperity and wellbeing for all." 14. No money for so much that is so essential in the county but can pay a high salary for Hoople Ltd â€@hoopleltd 28m 28 minutes ago Herefordshire Council post: Commercial and Contract Manager, £45–50k/annum. For more details: http://bit.ly/1UcakUt
  15. Well it is hard to separate out of this forum now and I am quite sure the GrahamPowell/Peter Robinson thing is sheer coincidence so I don't quite know how it became so mixed. Talking to somebody today about various things the name NPS Group t/a NPS Property Consultants came up. I am absolutely certain we had a short discussion on this company sometime ago on HV it could be another one of those arms length companies. Herefordshire Council were dealing with them at one time I wonder if they still are.
  16. But prior to the event there was this massive tidy up and resurfacing of some of the roads and only last year
  17. It is people like that have stopped me getting my state pension for 3.5 years - good to know my pension is going to a worthy cause - makes my blood boil!
  18. More houses more likelihood of people like that milking the system. With such leniency it will just attract this type of person.
  19. The cycle event last September was enormously popular last year. Part of their tour was through villages west of the county and many people laid on events and turned out to watch. Which in turn brought people to the area and money was spent. Such a shame that HC just cannot or do not want to see what is popular and loved in the county. Perhaps the Hereford Times (who do like a poll) should carry out one asking the people of the county what they love about the county and what they hate.
  20. Looks like it and if you are going to play politics you have to make absolutely sure that there is absolutely no chance of a leak or two.
  21. I have been out to day doing my bit for Queen and country and upon my return I have 2 messages thus:- " Have been told that Neill and Hughes are preparing a case to exonerate their fellow mason Robinson and Have been told that PR has been diaried into meetings in a few weeks time , so I guess his masonic friends , ie Tony Johnson and Alistair Neill think they have found a way of exonerating him" To confirm the Robinson is Peter Robinson who had a problem with his adding up. This must not be allowed to happen.
  22. Note to HC and I know you guys keep an eye on this - Please reassure me that there is ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE WHATSOEVER that Robinson might get a payout from HC or Hoople
  23. The SWAP Audit was for HC. Yes I noticed sometime ago that Hoople were advertising events at Churchill Gardens but did not realise they had moved there nice. HC are not good at changing their address either they are still based at Brockington
  24. I absolutely agree with you Adrian
  25. I understand that senior officers at Herefordshire Council are still refusing to release the report which they received several weeks ago from South West Audit Partnership Ltd regarding the £9m error made by the chief executive of Hoople Peter Robinson. The public have a right to know how the guardians of the money have acted. Yet another report that we are being refused sight of - transparency transparency transparency ............................
