http://www.herefordtimes.com/news/14144475.Hereford_factory_to_make_all_manufacturing_staff_redundant_on_Christmas_Eve/ Shocking news. Many years ago Denco made a load of people redundant just on Christmas my redundancy came later. A load of us went to the Kerry Arms on a Friday lunchtime to drown our sorrows I think we were supposed to go back but nah we stayed and stayed. One guy Tony Issom (wonderful man and sadly no longer with us) lived in Peterchurch caught the bus home went to get off the bus caught his foot landed on his back in a ditch and there he stayed until the morning. Ah the good days.

Whilst I do not always agree with the decisions that the Planning Dept come to I have a lot of sympathy for them. They are the ones who train to become Planning Officers they are the ones who know the rules and regulations and yet so often their well informed decisions are overruled by just Councillors. Another council committee in desparate need of a major overhaul Was there an investigation into the Greenow fiasco?
-
I think what is riling so many people is the way the decision was reached and the way the tenants have been treated, No farms no beautiful countryside .

More interesting reading Meggieland you always have the ability to delve deeper into the wonders of the internet. I expect every council in this land curse the damned internet!

Hello it is fine for me I see the Buttermarket is still on there - try again if not put in your search Property Asset Register Herefordshire Council -

If you are still there Dip here is the Property Asset Register which I do not think is 100% accurate https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwitstjRsNnJAhXKchQKHcpRAScQFggjMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.herefordshire.gov.uk%2Fmedia%2F5029703%2Fasset_register_current.pdf&authuser=1&usg=AFQjCNEJ_hXzFF10XCvEEizNNtrng-fVEw&sig2=rbMgPr_rffHccCAxdIsvfQ

Similar to Dave Greenow's planning experience the brother to Nick Nenadich has had his planning approved by the Planning Committee DESPITE the planning officer's recommendation to refuse. It always pays to know just the right people doesn't it? http://councillors.herefordshire.gov.uk/documents/s50029685/152475%20-%20Sutton%20Lakes%20Farm%20Suttton%20lakes%20Hereford.pdf

One more if you haven't got a Sunday paper to read! https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=52&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwi019j25tjJAhXLuhQKHRwsAe44MhAWCCMwAQ&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bahs.org.uk%2FAGHR%2FARTICLES%2F54n2a7.pdf&authuser=1&usg=AFQjCNH5NV1ocj1g0AKVzoAlIBgX1XTKZA&sig2=FSXcKTovAY4jut4jOECvxQ I would imagine if somebody searched through the history of Hereford's council farms there is at least one that was bequeathed - might be totally incorrect

Here is the background history of Council farms which I found in an edition of Dorset life Council land-owning in Dorset dates back over a century to 1911, when a farm was purchased near Marnhull in a bid to stem the exodus of people leaving the countryside to seek their fortunes in the city, but it was after the Great War that the need for council-owned farms grew in importance. In 1918, the British Army stood at almost four million under arms; David Lloyd George promised that the soldiery, after four years of hard fighting at terrible cost, would return to ‘a land fit for heroes’. Within a year of the Armistice, the military had been reduced to 900,000 and the government had a duty of care to find work for the significant number of now unemployed and, at times, vocally discontent former soldiers who had served their country with pride. The fear was that if these men weren’t cared for, Bolshevism and riots might break out on the streets as it had in Russia. and also a very extensive report produced by Gloucestershire County Council http://www.tisonline.net/ContentUploads/CaseUploads/Update_June_2008_1662008101955.doc

Transport Consultation Herefordshire Council

Here for Hereford 10 December at 18:24 · ments, also on that web page. It's a big ask just before Christmas, and we hope the deadline of 31 December 2015 will be extended in to the New Year. The Council meeting on 18 December might report back on the deadline, on job creation figures at the Rotherwas Enterprise Zone, on bus subsidies and figures for carbon emissions. Watch this space for more information, and email the Council (mathew.howells@herefordshire.gov.uk) if you have any difficulty in completing the Consultation Response Form which is a bit tricky. Talk about bastardisation of a beautiful building. Another well done Herefordshie Council

Smart a.... comments like that won't win you or your party any votes. Good job your leader and some of your fellow councillors have conducted themselves in a more sophiscated manner
