Yes indeed this is very important for the county of Herefordshire. Pity the HT did not grasp the mettle and send in a reporter - blogs seem to have become a thing of the past. Wake up HT and start reporting on things that really matter to the real Herefordians. Bring back Tanner I say.

Sorry I think I am missing the point but why are people feeding the rats? As for Councillor Edwards's short comings people voted him in. They will know better the next time.

INVESTORS EYE HEREFORD’S ENTERPRISE ZONE 15th Oct 2015 Midlands Storm Rannard A number of defence and security companies are eyeing investment opportunities at Hereford's enterprise zone following an industry event. More than 45 businesses met with representatives from the Skylon Park enterprise zone at the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) at London’s ExCel arena. It has now been revealed that up to ten businesses are set to enter further discussions regarding the availability of land and existing accommodation at the site. Bill Jackson, chairman of the Hereford Enterprise Zone, said: "This is very positive news for the zone and Skylon Park, especially as this was the first time that we have been represented at this prestigious event. "As the only enterprise zone in the UK to have a dedicated defence and security focus, we feel that we have a very attractive offer to these organisations." Skylon Park is currently home to more than 80 defence and security companies. Will this add fuel to the argument for the SLR?

I'm sorry lpusseycat but there is an enormous rat problem everywhere. I say better out in the wilds than outside your front foorstep. It is not helped by the amount of rubbish being flytipped everywhere and I have to say people who keep a couple of chickens in their back gardens. As we enter winter this problem will only become worse. A lot of the rat poisons are ineffective.

By coincidence this appears on Twitter. Appears to be fait accompli Marc Willimont â€@Marc_Willimont 1h1 hour ago #Herefordshire Council will hopefully adopt its new local plan this Friday at a Full Council meeting. http://www.theguardian.com/society/2015/oct/12/councils-face-pressure-to-publish-and-adopt-updated-housing-plans?CMP=twt_gu …

I was lead to believe the Core Strategy would be in operation after the Full Council Meeting on l6th October 2015. When I said that there were a number of recommendations/amendments these were brushed aside as minor details.

Well that payment will ease the pain of grief - sorry nasty but true - he quite obviously is not a very nice man so my sympathies will not be going out to him

In case anybody missed this in the HT Home / Hereford Times Column: No.1 Ledbury Road8TH OCTOBER 2015 The proposed closure of No.1 Ledbury Road has featured heavily in these pages, and my in-tray has been filled with correspondence from local people who are concerned at the situation. Only last week the centre was temporarily closed at no notice due to staff illness, causing great distress to those it serves. For those readers not familiar with No.1, it is a specialist resource unit that provides respite care for young people with complex health needs and disabilities. As well as providing vital support for the children concerned, No.1 throws a lifeline to their parents and carers, allowing them to rest and spend time with other loved ones. I have had the honour of being Patron to the Friends of the centre, where many children have formed long lasting and close friendships over many years. Affected parents and children, as well as the wider community, have been understandably distraught to learn that the centre is set to close. What no-one has been able to explain to me is exactly why it has to do so. Yes, the Wye Valley Trust, which has historically provided the service, is under pressure to cut costs, as is the local Clinical Commissioning Group. Yes, it is important, as the Council maintains, to keep local needs for respite care under review. And yes, there may be much more that can be done to use No.1 in an effective and financially viable way. But it is not clear that there has been much if any strategic discussion between the three organisations about No.1, let alone a creative effort to find common solutions. And I am far from convinced that the three have shown that properly trained new foster carers can be sustainably recruited to a level where they could replace the current respite care being offered at No.1. No.1 is run by well-trained staff, who really understand the children and their needs. It would be tragic if their skills were to be lost. And as the recent Council meeting showed, there is deep cross-party support for its continuation. As I understand it, there is a statutory right on the Council to provide respite care, and plans must be in place to call on cover staff where necessary. But the Council need to be met half-way by the Trust and the CCG to make it all work. Let’s make this happen. The children and families of No.1 deserve much better than this. Do you like this post? Labour Leadership Result - Jeremy Corbyn
Denise Lloyd replied to Glenda Powell's topic in Open Forum
I agree Corbyn has had some kind of bashing in the 4 weeks since becoming Leader of the Labour. Many others would have crumbled a long time ago. Take note you Corbyn bashers he has a strength of character that not everybody has. Cameron in contrast sounded almost hysterical yesterday in his closing speech. Whilst not everybody agrees with Corbyn's politics he is cool calm and calculating and his maturity will do him more good than harm. -
Poor Jesus did he suffer to have his name dragged down with these money making scam religions?

It would be even better if you could involve local producers - farmers/bakers/butchers/brewers of course. Possibly incorporate a Farmers Market so that Herefordshire can showcase what they do best - produce the best food. Brilliant idea something has to be done to discourage the kind of fiasco/rip off there was with the Hereford Cider Festival.

Beefy Boys Opening Soon...

The Council will not be so lenient if as Osbourne has stated just now the Councils are to keep Business Rates -
Sobering isn't it. I know that the whole point of the SLR is to free up land for housing but for whatever reason HC are not actually saying this.

Your Herefordshire shared Save No.1 Ledbury Road Respite Care's post. 2 hrs · Herefordshire Council have a LOT to answer for regarding this. Very upset. Staff and parents in tears tonight. Despite the very best efforts of the 1 Ledbury Road staff, the unit will be shut tonight and tomorrow, anything beyond that regarding the weekend is yet to be confirmed. Herefordshire Council gave a very pretty statement to parents and press that they had removed the 'cliff edge' of March 2016 closure but they haven't!! (Hey but that's okay because they added the disclaimer 'subject to staffing levels'.) Herefordshire council have had 2 YEARS to get ready for this, to have alternative provisions sorted & ready to go. This is really not fair on Ledbury road staff either. v On top of being over worked, they are left having to explain all this to completely despairing parents! It's not their fault that Children's wellbeing management are a total disgrace and not fit for purpose. Herefordshire Council need to resolve this and fast. In the mean time we'll be investigating how many of our children's human rights they are breaching More on this can be found on the No 1 FB page. HT take note
