This has all gone very quiet lately. Are they still on track for starting up next year that is 2016 with all their finances in place?
-
I do so miss the up and down arrows. Nice little move for Ms King taking all the training and knowledge gained from HC onto another post. I am amazed that HC haven't got a clause in their employment contracts whereby an employee can't strike up somewhere else straight away. Cor blimey 40 years ago I worked for a company where if you were say a Contract Engineer you could not go and work for a competitor for quite a period of time.

Pearls of wisdom from Here for Hereford - an extract from the Inspectors report on the Core Strategy (for some reason I am unable to copy the whole extract but it gives the general idea) Here for Hereford 1 hr · NOW IT CAN BE TOLD – LOCAL PLAN WAS NOT SOUND The Planning Inspector did not find Herefordshire Council's Local Plan to be sound, and even now (29/9/15) it is subject to more than 70 modification references before it can pass the tests of legal compliance. All that Council talk of how essential the Hereford Relief Road was to the Local Plan can be condemned as wishful thinking. The Inspector state. ""Here for Hereford 1 hr · port Plan [C46a] as planned infrastructure, the funding is not secure and it is not part of Highways England (HE) Road Investment Strategy for 2015 – 2020... The route has not been modelled or identified in detail and there is a high degree of uncertainty about whether the HRR is viable and can be achieved within the plan period... (#63): Notwithstanding this, inclusion of the HRR in the policy [sS4] would not be unsound as it remains a valid aim of the Council to bring this forward when possible as a means of improving the local transport networkâ€. This opinion: “would not be unsound†should surely be challenged as the Inspector goes on to say (#91): “... the submission Plan policy HD3 relating to movement failed to emphasise the importance of achieving and promoting sustainable transport to help address demand. MM016 adds text to the Hereford movement section to ensure that the focus of the policy … is to facilitate sustainable transportâ€. These words from the Planning Inspector encapsulate the focus the Council should have on its transport policy - FACILITATE SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT. Thank you, Madam Inspector."

Hello Ben
-
Never is indeed a very long time. You have already been missed Dippy and I am very glad this unholy mess has now been sorted out. Dippy you have written so much to be very proud of. One of your greatest moments has to be The Old Boys Home without you highlighting the plight of this building it would be rubble by now! I'm glad you are ok and haven't walked away forever!
-
Sound reason for abstaining then
-
3 abstentions - is that because they have no opinion/no knowledge/don't care whether it stays open or closes or what? Bring back named voting I say. Well done Glenda for attending you are a seriously good egg
-
Now I'm cribbing off other sites Tesco Belmont is one of a number of stores that will scrap 24 hour opening after Christmas.
-
Rebecca sadly I did not go but I have got the Planning Committee Meeting marked so come hell or high waters I will attend that! But not to demonstrate I am like Amanda suggests Herefordians are not prone to public displays of whatever! I thought the Hereford Times would be doing a blog of the meeting they really need to wake up and stop cribbing their stories off other websites!

"Usual questions from the usual suspects." Interesting turn of phrase - it's a good job that there are people who are prepared to ask searching questions of the Council

Because Greenknight you have not stepped out of line and received a warning from Colin so it is something to be relieved about. Colin well done for sorting this sorry state of affairs out and I hope some form of peace and harmony will now be restored. You Colin and Dippy play such a vital part to the success of this site and hope in time Dippy will feel able to contribute once again. People are such extraordinary creatures I would not have the inclination to hack into somebody's elses account nor the knowledge. Colin can you just answer me a question how many people have access to an individual's messenger service apart from the send and the recipient(s)?

Swiped this from another page but it did make me smile- I wonder if he was tested for Swine Disease after his little adventure. Pauline Black -
Herewith list of members of the Planning Committee. I have not broken them down into parties but I am pretty sure that they are predominately Cons so the opposition will have their work cut out opposing this one!! I trust there are some excellent speakers being lined up. Mind you in my experience excellent speakers don't always win over the opposition. Councillor BA Baker Councillor CR Butler Councillor PGH Cutter (Chairman) Councillor PJ Edwards Councillor DW Greenow Councillor KS Guthrie Councillor J Hardwick (Vice-Chairman) Councillor EL Holton Councillor JA Hyde Councillor TM James Councillor JLV Kenyon Councillor FM Norman Councillor AJW Powers Councillor A Seldon Councillor WC Skelton Councillor EJ Swinglehurst Councillor LC Tawn

I expect Bungospoon is doing a solo = wonder what the best Christmas tune would be that epitomises the work of FC

Hopefully it has been well promoted in New York and London. Let's hope it sells millions of copies and the proceeds can then be donated to something really genuinely charitable.

Snort but there again the poor piggie couldn't snort he was already dead -
Copied from JLP on Facebook Barbaric Herefordshire Sep 20th Editorial from Public Libraries News. I understand that as well as (a) keeping only one council library in all of Herefordshire, (b) hiving off a large part of the surviving one to other services and © closing that surviving library for an indefinite period due to asbestos, the good Conservative councillors of that county are also wanting to (d) cease supporting their Record Office (which opened at a cost of over £8m just this year), Museum and Archives over the next three years. One hopes that the DCMS will have a quiet word and point out that cutting to just (part of) one library would either mean that the council itself would be legally challenged or that the DCMS itself would be open to challenge for not intervening, either of which would have to stand a very good chance of winning. However, I note with some ironic amusement that it was the Conservative MP for the very same area who was Chair of the DCMS Select Committee that gave the Secretary of State, John Whittingdale, such a soft ride over libraries in the recent hearing over his responsibilities. Mr Whittingdale probably laughed about it all the way back to his office, before dismembering the BBC distracted him once more.

Excellent Chris nice to see a few pertinent questions being asked of our Council

Thinking about it I have decided to change my ratios for Herefordshire to 25% very wealthy/25% wealthy/40 - 30% struggling but managing just and 10-20% really desparate. I maybe totally wrong
-
Roger are you saying that there are more wealthy people in Herefordshire than there are people who are just managing. Looking around I would have thought it was 50/50
