NFTO back new cycling events coming to Herefordshire in September Cycling Weekly July 9, 2015 0 Comments Share Tweet Share Share10 National B-ranked Hitter Road Race and sportive to form part of the Herefordshire Festival of Sport image: http://keyassets.timeincuk.net/inspirewp/live/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2015/04/NFTO-630x421.jpg Steele von Hoff (left) and Eddie Dunbar show off NFTO's new kit in London Hereford-based outdoor clothing manufacturer and cycling team sponsor NFTO are backing a new National B-ranked road race and mass participation ride that will take place in the area later this year. The Cotswold Hereford BMW Herefordshire Festival of Sport, which will take place over the weekend of September 19 and 20, has added a day of cycling events to run alongside its existing running activities for 2015.Its two-wheel programme (September 19) includes the Ride Herefordshire sportive that offers the choice of a Mini Sportive aimed at families, as well as 40km, 90km and 161km routes across the stunning Golden Valley region. Parts of these courses will feature in the festival’s showcase event, the Hitter Road Race, a brand new E/1/2/3 event. Organised by the NFTO Race Club, it is hoped the race becomes a regular on the British Cycling calendar. “Being part of both the local and national cycling scene, we are in a rare position to be able to attract a top sporting event to the county,†said NFTO founder John Wood. “It’s unheard of to have a local club organise a race of this scale and we’re extremely lucky to be working with a group of partners and people without whom it would not be possible “With an unprecedented amount of prize money on board and with top 10 places receiving a reward, organisers believe the competition will be tight. Designed to attract the best domestic teams and possibly some big international riders, the race will certainly be ‘not for the ordinary’.†The sportive has been organised in partnership with Mind Herefordshire, the mental health charity, and Fit & Healthy, as part of a “Thumbs Up For Wellbeing†campaign. Very little has been said about this but there is a Fun Day at Peterchurch. The races 91k and 161k in the morning and the hitter in the afternoon a total of six passes through the village of Peterchurch 8.15am to 530pm. There will be a lot going on and all those cycling enthusiasts will no doubt enjoy watching professional cyclists at work. I understand Bradley Wiggin came and inspected the roads and said that he would not ride on Herefordshire roads in their present state resulting in many of our roads being resurfaced. I think there is a similar event in Leominster
-
Were Jesse Norman and Bill Wiggin really representing the people of Herefordshire when they voted FOR a reform in Tax Credits resulting in £4.4bn being cut from tax credits meaning over 3 million families losing over a £1000.00 per year from their income. With Herefordshire being one of the lowest paid counties and many people relying on zero hour contracts and minimum pay this is not going to encourage people back into work.

Colin is going to go mad at us lot and we will all be banned. Anyway I was not going to say any more on this stray thread however I will just say that to be told that I am being laughed at does not bring out the best in me. Two wrongs do not make a right but I will just say that Chris Chappell made the comment - "For at least 12 months, councillors and officers have had a good laugh tabloid its content. Sorry Colin, but you want me to tell the truth?" so I think I can be forgiven for allowing human nature to take over and retaliate. I do apologise to the hard working genuine honest Council employees and Councillors and they know which ones they are. I did not mean to cause any offence to them. When you are elected as a Councillor I think it so important to stick with the principles you were initially elected for. End
-
Or indeed any other Councillors or Council employees who lurk around the shadows of Hereford Voice for their evening's entertainment to accompany their nightcap.
-
Chris Chappell I think it was me who said about Graham Powell cycling home on the GWW I believe I said he would be cycling in the wrong direction for home and would have a very long trip home - if I was so inclined I would find the message. Chris Chappell I am pleased that you and your fellow Councillors have found Hereford Voice so amusing. Perhaps if the Council became more transparent there would not be the necessity of Hereford Voice and we would all feel that we had value for money from our Council. Chris you do amazingly good work don't go and spoil it. PS I am probably one of the few on here who actually knows of the village in which Graham Powell resides

How ridiculous it is a shopping centre including a cinema and many eating houses. People go there to spend money nothing else

Bungospoon do you think that the author of the book has personal experience of porn. Was she exposed to a pornographic situation in her personal life/her professional life or did one of her acquaintances enjoy a little porn? So often people who write books like this have personal experience so feel compelled and indeed write a very good book. It puzzles me where Jesus comes into it - pornographic material was not in abundance during his short life and I personally do not like to see his name used in vane.

It's official it has got worse. Flytipping in Herefordshire has increased by 30% whilst in Birmingham 15%. Heard once only on the news a couple of days ago.

All so that we do some real good and offer homes to the poor migrants but no alas of course it is FC and they do not things like unless there is some ***** ***** in it for them
-
There was a planning application for quite a few houses it was passed and then the developer pulled out. It might have been asbestos or the cost of building a road from somewhere to avoid using Baggallay Street. Have a read up the PA. I think it is also somewhere on here.

Cambo through your Council and for that matter Income Tax I would think you donate quite a bit to this business
-
Bungospoon if you hang around there will be plenty going for a 1p on Amazon no doubt

I was talking to somebody the other day who is just about to start at Swansea Uni and strangely enough got onto the subject of Freedom Church. She said they were nothing but a nuisance hanging around outside Primark trying to get trade. They know exactly which shop to target - a students haven

Labour Leadership Result - Jeremy Corbyn
Denise Lloyd replied to Glenda Powell's topic in Open Forum
Don't rate the Jess but with this comment he has really gone down a level or two - infantile and a form of bullying Jesse Norman â€@Jesse_Norman 3 mins 3 minutes ago Q: Is "Corbyn" short for "Cor blimey let's put him in the bin"? 0 retweets1 favourite Reply Retweet Favourite 1 More -
Well I am in total shock and disbelief - never surely not

Cambo such a wise head on such young shoulders. I just can't believe that people would go to the lengths of using somebody's elses name just to drum up support - sad gits. I also admire their computer prowess. Off topic totally Luke I think it was try the 4 7 8 sleeping programme!
-
I thought Maverick was Paul Cardin incognito well there you go
-
Sounds all very cloak and dagger to me and really rather sad - there are some sad old gits around nowadays - glad I'm in this instance totally innocent - so I too can sleep tonight - I wish
-
Well done you people. Mind you it should never have got like this in the first place. Whenever I do some hard pruning I always think of the last person who has really irritated me it's amazing how much easier the work becomes! No doubt you all spent your time thinking of Bill Norman wallowing in his ill gotten gains whilst you were slaving away on a Sunday morning.

Labour Leadership Result - Jeremy Corbyn
Denise Lloyd replied to Glenda Powell's topic in Open Forum
Well that is politics or politicians nowadays they do not listen to people and that is exactly why Corbyn got in. -
Herefordshire Council have just posted the following: "In the interest of public and staff safety Herefordshire Council have made the decision to temporarily close Hereford Library and Museum with effect from today due to the discovery of trace levels of asbestos found in the building as a result of planned building work due to take place at the site. More information can be found here http://bit.ly/1K0VJAR Opportune here goes a move to the Hereford Records Office

LEA Pool To Be Demolished For New Affordable Housing
Denise Lloyd replied to Colin James's topic in Hinton
I understand Affordable Housing is a term used for houses for first time buyers along with the old type of Council housing.
