  1. Jesse Norman Chair of the Commons Culture Media and Sport Select Committee and also something I did not realise until just now is he is Patron of No 1 Ledbury Road. We know he is very well read and has written numerous books and he must be quite an enthusiastic sportsperson I wonder which sport he has a preference for
  2. Another observation if the equivalent of the HT in Coventry considered it necessary to report that their Council's solicitor had left the building why has the HT not yet reported Bill Norman's departure. Wake up Hereford Times!
  3. Ms Forde has played a key role in the ongoing Ricoh Arena legal dispute betweenCoventry City FC owners Sisu and the council. A city council spokesperson said: "We can confirm that Christine Forde, the assistant director for legal and democratic services and monitoring officer has decided to move on from the authority for personal reasons and left the council on 31st August, 2015. Very observant Mr Ubique but I would say Ms Forde would not want to get herself embroiled in yet another Council with a lawsuit or 2 hanging over them
  4. I can't help but think that Hereford Voice has become the new HT. It is picking up on far more news worthy items than the HT but give HT a couple of days and they will have cribbed off HV.
  5. Torbay and Wirral Council Whistle Blowing, Workplace ... https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/ That will take you to some of it. Naturally there is loads more on this gentleman. I assume it is HC's take on employing the best of the best.
  6. I would imagine his next opportunity will be that of consultancy. He has set his pension up with a nice little bit in the bank. Now I just wonder whether his leaving is coincidental with a true great leaving in the shape of Bill Tanner. Is there some huge pile of pooh to hit the fan and is Bill Norman leaving at a very opportune moment to avoid any cross fire. Or am I a letting my very vivid imagination run away with me? Yes indeed it will be very interesting to see which others are going.
  7. Here is the petition delivered to your door https://www.change.o...ecklist=control
  8. But will he reincarnate himself as a Consultant at double the money? It is now we will miss the cut and thrust of Bill Tanner.
  9. Going right off topic sorry Bill Norman redundant - no doubt he will have a nice big payout sorry another nice bit payout
  10. I don't think this excuse for a festival can be discussed in the same breath as the ones mentioned above!!
  11. Sorry to go on and on .............. about this but if Balfour Beatty can tidy up after this "event" why can't Herefordshire be kept tidy and who would have paid Balfour Beatty to do this tidy up?
  12. Very interesting indeed - thank you
  13. The Barrells did they not raise one hell of a lot money for LOCAL charities with their bash over the weekend or did I dream that. I have a feeling it was in the region of £28000.00 split betweeen 3 charities one being the Megan Baker Trust - I am sure I saw it in the HT today. The company that laid the Playing Fields "festival" on were not a local company not promoting local produce and not promoting local music talent not employing local people and not spending the money they made locally and probably did not donate anything to charity. Did they do anything right? Chris you say Balfour Beatty did the clearing up yet the festival organisers when attempting to blow their own trumpet said they worked through the night to do the tidying up. I have a lot of time for the work you do Chris Chappell but I think you have missed the point on this.
  14. So Adrian - Tommysmith who I imagine is a Councillor incognito said that Balfour were responsible for taking bookings for KGPF. So they get all the flak flying around and yet the Council pocket the rent that would have been charged. I bet that ran to a pretty penny.
  15. Excellent Mr and Mrs U excellent reading this and hearing how 2 people are doing something really nice and not expecting any funding from the public. They are just doing it out of the goodness of their hearts. Uplifting and informative. I am a born and bred country girl but have learnt something through this forum. Thank you Mrs U. How do you cope with their fleas?
  16. Emphasis on Gourmet Sausages??
  17. Tommy Smith the Council employ BBLP so they are responsible for BBLP actions. Jim Kenyon - Local producers contacted the organisers of this "festival" and were told that the food had already been sourced. There is no getting away from the fact that this was a tacky overpriced excuse for a festival using the good name of Herefordshire. Many people were drawn to this event because they believed local producers would be involved. I think the Council would be doing the county a huge favour if they ensured that this money grabbing excuse for a company were never allowed to hold another event in Herefordshire. We deserve better than this. Incidentally I emailed the National Farmers Union this morning suggesting that they sort a Real Herefordshire Sausage and Cider Festival to try and restore some faith in what Hereford can actually do. It is not just this county being picky wherever this organisation have held events there have been complaints.

  20. By the sound of it I think the organisers are very fortunate that there hasn't been a massive food poisoning incident. The one saving grace is that it hasn't been scorchingly hot. Trading Standards/Food Hygiene/Environmental Health you name it they should be alerted.
  21. AV It was advertised as Herefordshire Sausage and Cider so just by the very wording it should have been selling HEREFORDSHIRE SAUSAGE AND CIDER. Do you not think there has been a slight misreprentation of facts. I doubt very much whether the meat sold was bred in Herefordshire and doubt further that it was even bred in the United Kingdom.
  22. This is really awful to be overcharged to be searched to have your food conviscated to be served questionable food at inflated prices. People could have gone to Waitrose and bought enough to eat well for a week and have change. What department in the Council is responsible for taking bookings for the King George's Playing Field and do they actually do any research before accepting the booking. This has not done Hereford any good at all. People who attended should start writing to the Council and complain loudly. Swansea also had the same Festival and the Facebook comments are just as daming.
  23. I thought it was Eventbright or Eventbrite but then somebody mentioned Danter sounds all very dodgy to me. I hope the Council had their money prior to the event! Strange that Cllr Hannah Lerego has spoken so highly of it. Everybody has their own standards I suppose.
  24. I will send an email to the local NFU (National Farmer's Union) tomorrow so that they too can ask a few questions.
