  1. Interesting also is that the role has been filled so quickly -they don't usually have people lining up to fill these up there roles. Unless of course the new person is a friend of a friend - a case perhaps of not what you know but who you know in HC
  2. Nearly on topic Hereford Civic Society have produced their Summer magazine with an interesting take on how they would like to see the county developing http://media.wix.com/ugd/f03364_65f722f0aadd4df0ba357e52b0a2230c.pdf
  3. Here is the petition delivered to your door https://www.change.org/p/herefordshire-council-wye-valley-nhs-trust-herefordshire-clinical-commissioning-group-stop-the-closure-of-1-ledbury-road-respite-service?recruiter=71054929&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink&rp_sharecordion_checklist=control
  4. A lot of play equipment around the county including many pub play areas has been deemed not safe for use by children
  5. Schools are phasing out text books/exercise books and writing materials so hand writing and spelling will deteriorate even further
  6. Is God money grabbing?
  7. I think Glenda should be congratulated for sticking by what she believes in. That is half the trouble with this country people are afraid to put their heads above the parapets just in case they stand out as dare I say troublemakers. Nowadays unless you go with the flow and agree with everything you are considered an odd bod. Not being a Councillor it leaves Glenda in a much stronger position to speak out and good on her for that she has the courage of her convictions. Paul Neades when you have achieved what she has achieved during her political career you can criticise.
  8. Places like these should be a normal requirement and not a luxury for any county and should not have to rely on people fighting for funding. Sadly that is where we are. Anyway when developers apply for permission to build more than 10 houses they have to agree to a 106 schedule this is worked out per house built. There are huge amounts of money targetted for education. The money is not offered you have to apply for it surely it is something the Ward Councillors (I was going to say for the areas but it affects everybody) should be fighting for. If I am incorrect on this I will not mind being corrected. If we have to have houses in our own back yards I would rather see 106 monies going towards running these vital places than some of the hair brained ideas that have been put forward in the last few years. Perhaps the spending of 106 monies specific for education could be discussed at a future Council meeting.

  11. Friends of mine went to Weston Super Mare yesterday nothing startling in that you say but what was startling not a spec of rubbish about and somebody litter picking all the time. Why oh why can one county get it so wrong? Driving into town via Belmont it struck me how tatty the verges the hedges the lot looked there is no pride any more. Do these people in office not look around and say something should be done about this - they should have a weekly tour of Hereford - not sit on their backsides deciding how best to waste a bit more money on some frivolous vanity project.
  12. ALMA petition to support Hereford Council's decision to refuse planning permission for 135 Houses near the SSSI Lugg Meadows in Hereford. A very big Thank You to everyone who supported us. We have heard today that the appeal by Bovis has been dismissed. Thank you all again. 13. More words of wisdom Stop Paying A Church To Do What God Has Called You To Do! PimpPreacher.com New Orleans Bureau 07/20/2014 So you have just made home from church and feeling pretty good about yourself. In the service this morning you danced, shouted, screamed Amen 22 consecutive times, and most importantly you paid your tithes. In paying Tithes you felt that you’ve furthered the work of the Lord, and now your church has more money to perform the duties of the ministry. What if you discovered that the majority of the money you donated today, never made it to the Lord? What if you discovered that 85% of it will get consumed in administrative salaries and bills? How do you now feel about Tithing your hard earn money? There are some church members who never give a second thought to the money they sling into collection plates, others have said the Pastor could flush it down the toilet as far as they’re concerned. If they ever realized how much good they could actually do with Tithes by not giving it to a church, then all of them would fall out and become slain in the spirit For Real. Do you remember that Board Game from the early 70’s called Hungry Hippo? Do you remember how it seated four players across from each other, all trying to gobble up as many white marbles as possible? In this simple childhood game is the perfect analogy of what church has become. In the City of New Orleans, in some areas, you will find four churches positioned on one single block, all trying to gobble up as many members as possible. As with the game Hungry Hippo, whoever collects the most marbles /members wins the game of Hungry Hungry Church. The problem is those who are really hungry rarely see any of the Pastors from those churches out on the streets late at night with plates of food. In a recent conversation with a Tither, she confessed that she paid $2800 last year in donations to her church, and some married couples she knew personally even paid more than that. I immediately started doing some calculations. $2800 / 12 Months = $233.33 $233.33 a Month = $58.33 Per Week How many people could the same church member have fed every week with the same $58? The plate of food below cost approximated $3.98 each to prepare, including a bottle of water. Working with the same $58.33 in tithes, that same church member would have been able to feed 15 homeless individuals in one week. A whopping 60 homeless people per month one tither could have fed, if she would have only taken the same Tithe money and purchased food with it. If one church member could feed 60 people per month with $233.33, then how many people could a church of 500 members feed? Pastor Fred Price Faith Dome when it opened in 1989 could seat 10,145 people. Now imagine if those same 10,145 people were committed to feeding the homeless and addressing the real poverty issues in South-Central Los Angeles instead of building Fred Price more buildings? If you really would like to help the Ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ, then stop feeding church, and start feeding people. TAGS why tithing is a waste of money why christians should not pay tithes
  14. Bobby I have e mailed the Jess and i hope you do not mind I have cribbed a lot of your workings!
  15. Lovely to see you've come back Ubique. I'm sure Here for Hereford won't mind me cribbing the following:= FURTHER PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON THE SOUTHERN LINK ROAD Thanks to diligent objectors, including members of the Here for Hereford group, the Council's Planning Officer has admitted that there will be a further period of consultation on the vexed question of the Council seeking planning permission (from itself) for its own Southern Link Road proposal. This consultation is not likely to take place before the end of August. Despite totaling 107 documents, the paperwork submitted with the planning application (No. 151314) is deemed to be insufficient. An updated 'Package Assembly' of sustainable transport measures, plus further reports on Archaeology, the Historic Environment, Landscape Sensitivity, a 'No Road Scenario', and a Water Framework Directive Assessment are still awaited. This list is by no means exhaustive, and as the Council points out: '...there may be some other documents that will require further consultation'. What was the cause of the Council's rush to seek planning permission when their case for the road was incomplete? The answer surely lies with the conditions attached to the provisional funding of the road which indicate that if planning permission is not secured by April 2016, the £27.6mn allocated to the Marches LEP for the road will be withdrawn. The Department for Transport has no intention of disbursing these funds to the Marches LEP, and a final decision on the road will be taken by the Department, not the LEP. Meanwhile, there is more time to study those 107 supporting documents, read the responses to the planning application (50 published, so far), and get ready for further public consultation
  16. Minister or Sinister? How To Know When Your Church Has Become A Cult. PimpPreacher.com 07/04/2015 - Originally Published: Atlanta, GA 10/28/2010 Everything is about CONTROL. The main tools used to control members areINTIMIDATION and MANIPULATION. The intimidation and manipulation are very subtle and disguised with a false sense of love and concern. It’s all a strategic COURTSHIP. THE SEARCH (LOOKING FOR LOVE) Most people come to church with a NEED. The need can be physical, emotional, financial, social, or spiritual. Having that need puts a person in a very vulnerable state of mind and they are searching for fulfillment of the need. CULT PASTORS are searching for vulnerable people that they can control and manipulate. THE BAIT (GETTING THAT FIRST DATE) It’s All in the Eyes and Ears THE FLIRT / MEETING FOR DRINKS When a person visits this CULT (church), everyone is very friendly. They are greeted in the parking lot, at the front door and during the service they are asked to stand and be welcomed (first time visitors please stand). After service they are invited to a little reception (meeting for drinks) where they can meet some of the leaders and perhaps even the CULT Pastor. They are asked how they found out about the church, complimented on their outfit, asked how they enjoyed service, offered cake and punch, if they haven’t completed a visitors card during service they are asked to complete one during the reception (GOT TO GET THOSE DIGITS) and then they are asked if it’s okay if someone gives them a call later on during the weekTHIS BEGINS THE COURTSHIP. RUNNING GAME The Cult will have a team of people (we will call them the GAMERS) who are assigned to COURT you (THE PROSPECT). The courtship begins withCOMMUNICATION. Good communication starts with paying attention to what is said. The Gamer will ask strategic questions about the PROSPECT, their family and their life. Once they hear something they can identify with the prospect (YOU) they will begin telling the prospect how wonderful the church is (disclaimer: they will always say “we’re not a perfect church, but we love God and our Pastor loves the people of God, we are a loving churchâ€). The Gamer will tell a story about how they were so lost, broke down, and hurt BUTbecause of this ministry they were able to get their lives together and they don’t know where they would be without this ministry (not GOD, but the ministry) this will of course include many examples of how the Cult Pastor is very sincere and loving. This call will conclude with an invitation (FIRST DATE). This first date may be an invitation to come to the midweek service, a fellowship, or next Sunday’s service and the prospect is told to ask for the Gamer as soon as they come through the door so the two of them can sit together. The members are moved by what they HEAR they are compelled to say YES TO THE FIRST DATE. After many dates the prospect becomes a member of the CULT…and SO BEGINS THE RELATIONSHIP. THE RULES Once you join the CULT. You have to learn the rules. The rules are taught in the NEW MEMBERS CLASS. It is here that the brainwashing begins. You discover that EVERYTHING IS MANDATORY. You are given scriptures such as “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.†(Hebrews 10:25) – This translates into mandatory attendance to every service, gathering, class and activity. You start feeling obligated to be at every meeting because great emphasis is placed on being loyal to the Pastor, group and its teachings. You are told that this is your NEW FAMILY. You life becomes totally absorbed with services and group activities. You will be so physically and emotionally exhausted that you can’t even think for yourself. – TWO WORDS: MIND CONTROL. THIS IS WHEN THE RELATIONSHIP CHANGES AND IT’S NO LONGER A LOVING COURTSHIP BUT NOW IT’S A DOMINATE RELATIONSHIP OF ABUSE & CONTROL ISOLATION - (“Do not be unequally yoked’ 2 Cor. 6:14-18) 1. The leader will try to isolate the members by insisting they do not have any friends or associations with anyone other than the church members (cannot visit other churches). 2. Relationships are based on membership. If a person leaves the ministry, you need to isolate yourself from them. If they are not a member you do not befriend or remain friends with them. Even disassociate yourself from family members unless you are recruiting them - trying to get them to come and join your ministry. 3. There will be total control over almost all aspects of the private lives of members. This control can be direct through constant and repetitious teaching on “how to be a true Christian†or “being obedient to leadershipâ€. Members will look to their leaders for guidance in everything they do (travel plans, school plans, marriage plans, job plans, etc). 4. You find the members saying “Bishop said or Pastor said†more so than “GOD SAID or the WORD OF GOD SAYSâ€. Written By “Just Sayin†Reply Report Edit Delete Denise Lloyd

  18. Movement in reserves statement Reserves represent the authority’s net worth and show its spending power. Reserves are analysed into two categories: usable and unusable. Usable reserves • Result from the authority’s activities • Can be spent in the future • Include: – general fund – earmarked reserves – capital receipts reserve The level of usable reserves, the spending plans of the authority and other sources of funding will determine how much council tax needs to be raised. The movement in reserves statement (MIRS) analyses the changes in each of the authority’s reserves from year to year. It should be clear to see what has caused the movement in each reserve. The statement shows: • opening balances – these should be the same as the previous year’s closing balances • total income or expenditure for the year – this should agree with the comprehensive income and expenditure account • statutory transfers between reserves – these are made as the result of regulation • voluntary transfers between reserves – these are made as the result of the authority’s decisions • closing balances – these should agree to those on the balance sheet. Transfers between reserves should not result in a change in the overall level of reserves. 4 A guide to local authority accounts A guide to local authority accounts 5 Statutory transfers are adjustments that are made to usable reserves to: • remove transactions that are required by accounting standards • add transactions required by statute. For example, accounting standards require depreciation to be charged to the general fund to represent the cost of assets used in the delivery of services. Statute requires that all capital transactions are removed from the general fund. Depreciation is therefore taken out of the general fund and replaced with the minimum revenue provision (MRP). The MRP represents the authority’s estimate of how much it should contribute to capital expenditure each year and is approved by members at the start of every year. Voluntary transfers include the earmarking of reserves. Members may choose to earmark reserves, putting aside cash to deliver specific longer-term objectives, such as the replacement of vehicles, plant and equipment. The purpose and usage of each earmarked reserve should be clearly set out. Challenge questions 1 Are the movements in the two types of reserves shown in separate tables? 2 Do the opening balances agree with last year? Have any restatements been clearly explained? 3 Do the figures in the MIRS agree to the comprehensive income and expenditure statement? 4 Can you trace the figures in the MIRS to the relevant notes? Do the notes adequately explain the major movements? 5 Are the purposes of the material earmarked reserves consistent with the authority’s objectives and the authority’s decisions? Unusable reserves • Derive from accounting adjustments • Cannot be spent • Include: – pensions reserve – revaluation reserve – capital adjustment accoun Statutory transfers are adjustments that are made to usable reserves to: • remove transactions that are required by accounting standards • add transactions required by statute. 19. I am surprised the twitchers are not submitting one but they like a lot of charities rely on public support. The majority of their members are retirees. Herefordshire Wildlife Trust I don't know anything about this society I don't think. The reps are all good but I am sure they used to block out people's addresses I'll have a look later.
  20. Ten or eleven objections posted today - much to read later. CPRE objection not as lengthy as usual but brief and very much to the point. Good old CPRE they do so much good work unlike some charities..
  21. DENISE LLOYD â€@DENISEL37953929 2m2 minutes ago I've just sent a letter to the Chancellor to demand more funding to make cycling and walking a better choice. http://takeaction.cpre.org.uk/ea-action/action?ea.client.id=21&ea.campaign.id=39390&ea.tracking.id=twitter … With the cut in funding for the railways does anybody believe there is a possibility that funding for road building will also be cut?
  22. To anybody who has read and inwardly absorbed all the bumf associated with this planning application do you know if a study has been carried out to see how much extra traffic with especial reference to HGV's will be encouraged to take the Belmont to Madley crossing the Bridge Sollars bridge route and naturally visa versa. I have yet to do my letter but I am building up to it. Mind you be warned not one of my letters of objection has been taken into account in the Kingstone planning fiasco so I maybe a bad omen.
  23. Roger I think you need to get out more if you think most pensioners are well off I know some very well off pensioners but by the same token I know some very poor struggling pensioners. Most pensioners that I know have applied for their bus passes and why not if it's there use it. It might be safer for them to sit on a bus than try to drive into town
  24. Jonny I would rather see pensioners get some concessions that some of the youngsters who know how to work the sytem and have absolutely no intention of ever working for a living. At least the majority of pensioners have worked through their lives and paid into the system and a lot have lived trhough pretty hard times. If I had the choice my taxes would not go to the slips of girls who get themselves pregnant and have everything handed to them nor to the lazy young lads who claim benefits and then buy fags and scratchcards. They get a job for a day then say it is not for them and back on benefits. Who would you rather your tax be paid to? Jonny you should spend a bit of time talking and listening to these OAP's and just see what kind of life a lot of them have led. Off topic sorry Colin Oh and we mustn't forget the tatoo's on benefits there is no comparison between OAP'S getting a free bus pass is there?
  25. Don't forget the people of pension age get a free bus pass how on earth are they to get about? No trips out for the older population leads to isolation and depression. I hope the council are working hard to pull something out of the bag - afterall as we are repeatedly told by Johnson we have an ageing population in Hereford.
