Yes these people who did not ask the right question will eventually be kicking themselves. Is Phil Edwards really an Indie or does he hunt with the hounds and run with fox?

Good informed comment on HT article on this proposed road from Adrian Bridges. Nice to see these defeated ones get back up dust themselves down and fight another battle. In hindsight some of these defeated ones could be more of a danger to HC than those that got elected especially the ones that have never been Councillors before - sorry off topic. Can tell it's a wet day!

Be warned not everybody will agree with me on this but I will say it. IOC need to tone down their stand on chicken houses at least for the time being, I stand on the fence on chicken houses but there is a risk that a large sector of the population will not support IOC on their battle against this road because of their stand on chicken houses.

Funny how different polling stations behave on election day. I think I was blessed with 3 very efficient clerks. When I went in to vote there were 2 elderly ladies standing near the ballot box chin wagging and a very elderly gentleman voting. Whilst casting my vote the clerks did their level best to break the two ladies up and eventually as I was leaving much to everybody's embarassment the male clerk got up and escorted the 2 ladies and now finished man out. And that is how it should be strictly business no chit chat. However on the other hand I understand the Con candidate for Stoney Street (Steve Williams) with a name badge on but no flashy Con thing on was actually in Clehonger hall most of the day. How strange that there was not any uniformity with this election,

Slightly off topic but still relevant the PA for 93 houses at Kings Acre has been refused one reason being it would interfere with the Core Strategy and the West by pass.

Saving The Working Boys Home *UPDATE*
Denise Lloyd replied to dippyhippy's topic in Hereford Voice Projects
Just received this email Dear Friends, Thank you for signing the petition Save The Old 'Boys' Home which, with the accompanying publicity, resulted in the fire service withdrawing their application. This does not mean, however, that Herefordshire Council will not come up with another scheme to wilfully destroy this lovely building, so be prepared to watch for a new petition and don't get confused if we have to start again. https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/save-the-old-boys-home Thanks again John Perkins I can see it is going to be free for all for planning now -
Dear Denise, Thank you for your e-mail to Jesse Norman MP. Jesse has previously examined this issue and has written a short paper outline his argument, which you can download here. In regards to the Powerhouse designation, this scheme has already seen significant investment in Hereford, with the development of the Old Market and the Rotherwas Enterprise Zone, and will support the foundation of a new technical University, leading to thousands of new jobs for Herefordshire. It will also see a significant investment in house-building, something sorely needed in the city. I hope this answers your query. Kind regards, Archie Macleod Caseworker for Jesse Norman My very prompt reply from one of Jess' boys. I should have asked for the 2 Jehovah's who've just knocked on my door to pray for us - they were so polite so non pushy bless them. Had a reply from our new Ward Councillor who "will discuss the matter with the relevant cabinet member, to determine the facts, and respond in due course". Not surprisingly I have not received a reply from the new Ward Councillor for Stoney Streeet I do not think his communication skills are extensive. Another ward left very exposed at a very crucial time. CPRE do a lot of good work on planning issues. They have a designated planning department and it is certainly worth having a look at their website. Another very worthy cause run on donations and subscriptions.

I did not read it like that. My name was not mentioned and I certainly did not feel the remark was aimed at any of us. It is an accepted fact that Herefordshire Council and Hoople have a bullying culture. It is accepted that Paul Cardin is privvy to certain information that none of us are so does he suspect that there is a paedo ring operating in Herefordshire? It would not surprise me we have most other oddities.

No not yet probably Monday or Tuesday of next week. There's no harm in bombarding Jess though is there and indeed your own Ward Councillor? They want the glory they might as well try to earn it

"People need to mobilise, initially by writing to their own councillor saying that they do not want the South Wye Transport Package as it stands and that they reject being designated an "Urban powerhouse for Growth" by people with no roots in Herefordshire and no interest in it beyond exploiting it for corporate chums and an indiscriminate growth agenda that will destroy quality of life. The planning application for the Southern Link Road will probably be published on Monday/tuesday with a limited consultation period. Please write now to Jesse Norman MP and to your own councillor, asking them to commission a study to model and appraise a new eastern bridge in isolation i.e. without the 3km section linking Hampton Park Road with Ledbury Road, along with an actual "package" of tried and tested solutions for dealing with short journeys within the city. Interestingly Parsons Brinckerhoff identified the majority of commuter journeys within the city as being less than 2km. It is essential to mobilise the public on this one if we are to stop this road. Your email and letter will count. Also by Amanda but endorsed by me ............" The above is taken from Hereford Transport Forum on Facebook. I will be emailing Jess and our new Ward Councillor Jon Johnson later today. Has anybody got an email address for the new Ward Councillor for Stoney Street please.

Forgive my naivety but how can a General Election be rigged and fiddled? I am aware that the unemployment figures are not accurate and I am also very aware that in Conservative wards there has been a massive tidy up over the last weeks - potholes ditches gullies footpath entrances all cleaned and trimmed within a whisker. A comment to this effect has been made on the HT has been so it is not me being paranoid. Ask any voter in Golden Valley South why they vote Con and they will say Graham Powell ask him and he gets things done. Cons will always be on the winning side because they have the means to get things done and win votes. I have mentioned before but page 119 of last weeks Hereford Times shows a photograph of two 2 prospective Con Candidates cleaning a bus shelter. What good timing to get their photo in the local press on the day of the election.

I This has been doing the rounds today I love it. Hope you do Jess

Absolutely well said. Now I'll say what has been bugging me all day IOC certainly buggared it up for Wormside the candidate that they put would have been totally unsuitable he didn't any positive policies and not really any idea. He relied on knowing a lot of people and being related to a lot of people. He was in support of the 150 houses that 98% of the village are against. Never seen him at a comunity event and he was put in at the last moment as an act of spite. Now look what we have ended up with thank you for that IOC. You may not have liked Jim Knipe etc etc but personal feelings should have been put to one side. I would like to know IOC your recruitment process I have already heard how some were recruited.

Time will tell on the influence of Freedom Church in this county.

Boring old fart that I am I watched Question Time last night and there is a lot of anger about this election I don't think it is going to go away quietly
-
I was going to say something along those lines but thought I would not atagnonise Roger anymore tonight

Glenda a champion/national treasure whether you were voted in or not. Keep up the contacts and the friends that you have made keep on doing good you don't have to carry the label of Councillor. You will be a very hard act to follow and I can see it all falling to pieces in your area and many other wards throughout Herefordshire. Something very strange went on with the voting throughout the county. I can make sense of the country voting but not of the county.
-
Absolutely agree with you if IOC had been more strategic in their placement of candidates instead of going for broke and flooding the market things COULD have been different. But that was yesterday we somehow have to find a way of moving forward and making this devastation work to our advantage.

Adrian S you ask Have Hereford got a future now? I think maybe it will follow shall we say a slightly more "religious" route
