  1. Sorry Meggieland I just wanted to know if anybody knew anything about Paul Thomas an IOC candidate standing in Wormside and I thought where I posted it was the correct place. I'm still none the wiser about Paul Thomas!
  2. Email it to Jess and Bill Wiggin -
  3. I see there is a Paul Thomas IOC candidate standing in Wormside. Does anybody know who he is
  4. Blair guilty of Iraq let us not forget that. But also guilty of the Foot and Mouth fiasco. Many people will probably only remember the money it cost the country and the people who benefitted magnificently from it. But oh the tremendous suffering of the animals and the people who were involved was unbelievable. Only people who were involved in farming at the time will know the true price of that.
  5. Blair's a real bad un with marriage problems/Milliband is not bad but just weak/Cameron - no words can describe him. So now we are scraping the bottom of the barrel Clegg/Farage and Bennett. Will it be a case of eenie meanie mo catch a xxxxxxxxxxx by his toe or what is the answer = import Sturgeon and Lloyd
  6. Here beginneth my epistle "Whilst recently visiting Istanbul I used the Tram system for travelling around the area. Since then it occurred to me that Hereford could possibly impliment a similar system without too much disruption and a fraction of the cost of putting in a road without using prime agricultural land. The route would use the Great Western Railway line which is used at the moment by pedestrians and cyclists. (give brief route details and what power is used to run it)The beauty of this system is that cyclists and pedestrians can still use the route safely. The GWR crosses the river so the tram would lift a lot of the motor conjestion from the peak time hot spots. Since returning home I have posted my thoughts on Hereford Voice(an open to everybody forum site discussing local topics that matter to people and Facebook (give links) and have been absolutely overwhelmend by the response that has been received. People are very supportive of the idea with much constructive advice. I am hoping to gain even more support and constructive ideas through the publication of this letter. Naturally there is a long way before the tram system is up and running but all good ideas have to start at the beginning." There I've made start I won't be offended if you don't use it/if you amend it in anyway but it's something to work on.
  7. Despite my own personal feelings about the "University of Hereford" it might be worth sending them a link. I rather suspect they have quite a bit of influence over the goings on in Hereford. But you do need to patent your idea Colin you wouldn't want others jumping on your bandwagon and claiming the glory!
  8. Yes I watched it. The presenter/Chairman was outstanding alongwith Ms Sturgeon and Wood and of course the Heckler. Farage bless him I am sure he has been planted as a wind up merchant. I was disappointed that more was not spoken about care of elderly/vulnerable and of course people who rely on food banks. Of course the real winners of this election will be the developers. I bet they are already rubbing their hands together and clicking their heals all the way down to the bank. As much emphasis should be placed on where these houses should go. There is no doubt that houses are required but they should go where they are needed and preferably on brownfield to start with. The brownfield issue was brought up by Farage but was not really expanded on by the others. I think they take the I'm alright Jack view.
  9. And hopefully on line too!

  13. Widen the Greenway or whatever it is called cycle path to Rotherwas traffic sorted job done for less than it would cost putting in overly expensive roads and chewing up that most precious commodity - lovely prime agricultural land..
  14. Love it positively inspirational. Send a link to Hereford Civic Society they'll love it and it might hit their next magazine
  15. Thank TWG for that bit of knowledge - mind you they're nearly all out canvassing now so it's a bit like shutting the door after the horse etc etc
  16. Do Freedom Church own a lot (and I mean a lot) of properties in Hereford?
  17. Simply Stunning is vacating to make way for a restaurant (chain) yawn. But far sadder than this Treasure Island/Styles for Life and Hooked on Books have now shut up shop. They have placed a half page announcement in this weeks HT - such a shame.
  18. No I have seen it can't be anything too significant otherwise there would be a PA so one can only assume that there has been a leak!
  19. A very noble idea but I would only part willingly with some cash if the very highly paid council officials were thinned out and the whole setup was audited and brought back into line. I read somewhere but can't remember where just how much of my Council Tax is going towards the Council pension fund. Now I don't begrudge people getting paid well if in my mind they actually earn it. Judging on recent performances I am sorry I do not feel the top tier have earned loads of cash and an excellent pension fund. So if by bringing these people back into line it saved x amount I would part with x as long as it went to the cause of my choosing and I had proof of that. I had reason to go to the Town Hall today the first thing that hit me was that it is stifingly hot in there they could save a bit of money on that for a start!
  20. I hope the tapes are securely locked away
  21. When will we know who is standing where
  22. Thank you Meggieland for that quick look told me that Worcester Council handle the pensions for Hereford.
