I had 2 appointments today at the hospital and it went like clockwork - just luck of the draw I think. Sorry that was a bit harsh. However it does say on the op letter that the time is subject to emergencies and in fairness the hospital does not know what is going to come through the door as an emergency. I hope the poor lady makes a full recovery. The car parking is an absolute disgrace but Jess is on the case so it should soon be ok. If the revenue from the parking was utilised by the hospital it would not be so painful.

Yes there was a comment on one of HT articles hinting that there could be an expose and definitely before the election.

Quite - why not use Your Herefordshire's Twitter and Facebook - I'm not sure if they charge. The Hereford Times' Facebook page allows you to leave a comment and that would be free. So many people use the internet now and I'm sure there would be the same impact by using the net - why spend money if you can do it for free!

£25 million I would say this will scratch the surface of the cost. I have read somewhere that the cost of some of it (or is it the bypass) will be met by the house developers they are hoping to attract to the area between the new road and where the exisitng houses stop. House building definetely is on top of the agenda on this one.

This was merely a box ticking exercise so that they can now motor on and submit the PA which is already done and dusted anyway - whatever the public think and say

"Projects which help councils deliver more for less by working with local communities and neighbourhood groups awarded share of £2 million. Herefordshire Council Project to develop better support for vulnerable residents by working with GPs, parish councils and communities to develop Wellbeing Hubs in isolated rural areas." HC is one of 24 councils to receive part of this fund. Each council will receive between £60k and £90k - lets hope it is put to good use and not used to produce a report!!

Looking at all the empty shops it makes you wonder why the new shopping centre was built in the first place it would have been more sense to build houses/flats whatever and then regenerated the original town centre. Anyway all this has been said a hundred times before. The point I am making and yes it is off topic the same thing is happening at Rotherwas because of costs there are no end of empty units yet they are proceeding with the construction of yet more units. I suppose this all has been the philosophy all along instead of putting right what has become a bit old fashioned/ neglected something new and shiny is constructed with very tempting rents/rates and so it goes on.

Whistleblowers are classed as trouble makers - not my words! They also question the ability of the staff above them so of course they are going to be treated as nasty troublesome people. As I have said before many senior people have the gift of the gab to get the post in the first place but not necessarily the ability to do the job. So they rely on their junior staff to do the work and most definitely NOT cause any ripples that might expose the weaknesses of their seniors.

Smartieno I do not think I misunderstood what you said about acts of kindness - you have no idea the acts of kindness people on this site do so please do not generalise. Truly kind people just get on and do it and do not boast about it. No I am not having a pop at you Smartieno but I do take exception to that comment.

If you use Company Check it's free call up Freedom Church etc you get the list of directors press a name and it takes you onto other directorships the person holds - lots of interesting names - they certainly get around!!

Ah the Rooms I can't remember for the life of me the nickname - it was something like sticky something because your feet stuck to the carpet. Monday night at the Rooms was the Auctioneers night and fair do's those were interesting nights! The Booth and the Grapes slightly off topic sorry. Hereford night life was buzzing then - happy days indeed.

Shame on the taxi driver there could have been a bit of negotiation. When I read tales of the things people do through kindness I find it very uplifting especially when such atrocities are being committed throughout the world. There are good kind people around and what this man does with his money is entirely up to him. His business only. The other day I drove from my house down the road and saw this woman (didn't know her from Adam) who had obviously caught the bus back home with her weekly shopping. She was obviously struggling. But I didn't stop and offer her a lift. Boy oh boy have I beaten myself up about this since. I am truly sorry and hope whoever does the forgiving will forgive me for this.

Probably not the correct forum for this comment. This accompanies the advert for a Part Time Team Leader at a Residential Home:= "Herefordshire Care Homes has a clear vision to provide the kindest care possible, employing only the kindest and most professional people." Who on earth writes this inane crap? Anybody who has worked in care knows exactly what is needed and to think HC are actually paying people to write this utter tosh. Unbelievable.
