  1. Agreed I read the online version of the DM and felt quite concerned that it had been published. It is tragic enough for the family friends and indeed the police and other services who attended the incident without having this story published. Despite my own feelings about HC and the Planning Dept I feel a certain amount of sympathy for them on this. They are going to have handle this very carefully.
  2. Blue&GreenTomorrow â€@bluegreentweet 4 hrs £200m fund to develop #brownfield sites will protect #countryside, says MP http://bit.ly/1BdQ7Bh @BrandonLewis @CPRE Lets hope HC read and act on this to stop the destruction of our greenfields

  4. HEREFORDSHIRE has just had its biggest ever economic cash boost of £43 million and it appears to have gone unnoticed. The money was the result of months of hard work by officers and members working with the Local Enterprise Partnership to put a strong bid to the government for three projects – the Inner City Link Road, the road from the A49 to the A465 and the Model Farm at Ross. These projects are key parts of our plans for economic growth. The roads will facilitate the new houses, businesses and jobs we so badly need. Our goal of opportunity and rising income for all, especially the young, depends on growing the economy and so this money is wonderful news for Herefordshire. We have had to make huge savings over the last two years and there are more to be made. But this great news, coming on top of the success of the new retail development and the livestock market, shows that this administration is doing the right things. For groups set up specifically to oppose these developments it must be galling to see how successful and popular they are. No doubt, like Cassandra, they will now revert to predictions of future gloom and refuse to enjoy the successes. How sad. Meanwhile, from those of us with a more positive outlook, and on behalf of all Herefordians, I offer my congratulations and thanks to everyone involved in this latest £43 million success. TONY JOHNSON Herefordshire Council leader Letter in the HT this week from our esteemed leader. Little groups set up to oppose successes have had a mention. Is this really going to gain friends and support?
  5. Now I am a little confused - I have a dustbin so does that mean I can knock a few holes in the bottom of my new wheelie bin and try growing some potatoes in it. Please somebody tell me where the saving is
  6. Herewith Jess' reply to the consultation http://jesse4hereford.us5.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=86d147dbebde8f56c6a6fb342&id=126344654c&e=a07775b037
  7. Could come very unstuck on a cheeky bid!!
  8. Decidedly more interesting than Leader Johnson's letter in the HT
  9. Well it just goes to show how spoiled we are in Kingstone. The bin men and recycling men are tops. I have only had a sticker once but I was trying it on a bit. Even when cats and the such like rip open bags that are put out too early they pick the stuff up They are really polite and amazingly hard workers - I take my hat off to them.
  10. I don't know what happened there. However the Old Crowe Willersley is up for auction. Guide price £120k to £150k. Open day Sat 9th August 2014. An opportunity for those budding renovators wanting a challenge or two!! http://www.mccartneys.co.uk/pdf.php?vars=propertypdf-sales-mccrps-HAY140171-1407325243 Hope the link works I do not always succeed with links
  11. In the HT today this lovely haunted crumbly old house is on the market. It's up for auction guide price £120k to £150k. Open day Sat 9.9.14. For those budding house renovators looking for more than one challenge! Correct spelling Olde Crowe Willersley
  12. Yes despite call barring I seem to get loads of these. If I answer the phone I work for the Fraud Dept - the call is quickly finished or I am the cleaner and my boss has gone on an exotic holiday or I am a burglar. Keep up the good and entertaining work Bobby. Have you worked out your question for HCS Question Time yet?
  13. Retweeted by Here for Hereford Shirley Burnham â€@ShirleyBurnham 5 hrs @savelibservices Herefordshire chief exec is mentioned in this article http://www.24dash.com/news/local_government/2014-08-05-Age-of-Austerity-More-than-2-000-council-employees-raking-in-over-100-000-a-year … TPA Report here http://www.taxpayersalliance.com/thrl2014.pdf
  14. I would pay £35.00 per year for a green garden waste bin. Sadly our Council is so short sighted that we do not have this option. You can buy green bags at a huge cost and then it goes into the same cart as general household waste - ridiculous
  15. I fail to see where the saving is same amount of rubbish - why the black bins why not just put the rubbish in the black bags out on the street for collection like we do now except it is once a fortnight - duh - is it me? Whilst some people might put out several bags of rubbish many people who recycle and live on their own might only put one bag out per fortnight. It will balance itself out. Bags of dog poo and dirty nappies etc will pose a smelly problem poor bin men they should have a pay rise and face mask!
  16. From my exceedingly limited knowledge of the subject people do it whether it is legal or not and have done so for years and years.
  17. Closing date for comments 8th August. For those yet to leave a comment or two or indeed those of you who have already commented can do again if they wish should read the following link View 1 new Tweet Here for Hereford â€@HereforHereford 1 hr Please read before you make your response to South Wye Transport Consultation http://www.hereforhereford.co.uk/2014/08/south-wye-transport-package-where-is-the-evidence/ … . Misinformation by Council continues Expand It certainly gives food for thought. Oh you can comment by using Mr A N Other or Mr Anybody you wish to be. Here for Hereford have also asked without success for supporting evidence that no link road A465 to A49 is preventing growth at Rotherwas
  18. CPRE are compiling a countrywide map of brownfield sites suitable for development. If when you are out and about over the next few days and spot a suitable site please could you let the CPRE know. CPRE â€@CPRE 1 hr Out & about this weekend? If you spot a derelict site we can add to our brownfield #WasteOfSpace map, let us know! As you are all no doubt aware developers are currently targeting precious greenfield sites for housing developments but CPRE are certain that there are many suitable brownfield sites that should be developed before losing precious greenfields. Once the information is gathered they will present their info to the government.
  19. I do not know what man management experience Mr Johnson has had. I know he was employed by Lloyds or TSB for many many years but whether he managed people I do not know. Perhaps he is one of these people who truly believes what he is told. When his minions report to him that that everything on the homefront is just fine and dandy he says well done lads/lasses you're doing a good job. When he travels from A to B for meetings I would imagine there is a quick trim and tidy up on the route so he gets the right impression. I doubt he trucks around the county walks around town mingles with us lesser mortals going about our business. As for the HT does he read it or is it just reported back to him from the viewpoint of the person relaying the information. Who knows what goes on behind closed doors! NO I am not defending him he should mingle and talk to the people who pay his expenses.
  20. No I haven't I think I would probably chuck it in the bin. Who are ipsos mori?
  21. Meggieland good job you actually copied this piece it will not be on HT for long!
  22. Sorry misread it thought it was a PA - oh well and it says it will use Herefordian meat - didn't read it at all oops!
  23. It should be a condition of their planning permission(if they get it) that the meat is at best British but even better Herefordshire produced.
  24. Well thank goodness for that
  25. A lot of drivers in Hereford seem to suffer from colour blindness now
