  1. It doesn't matter what angle you come at it from - the temperature of food is what is at issue here and the temperature of food has no bearing at all on levels of violence, unless you're grasping for something like a hot grease burn from burger to the forehead.
  2. Oh BUSINESS RATES f*** me.
  3. Wait, am I being stupid, or is that actually saying WH Smith pays £250,000 a year to rent the building?
  4. For what it's worth, I saw people parking in the centre isle of New Market street today using it as a loading bay lol Also, there's no a massive red P sign on the Debenhams allyway bit - what's all that about? It seem's to imply "Parking", but it's no where near parking access Oh and I also thought today about yellow boxes, people repeatedly sit in them, perhaps some don't know what they mean, it would be fairly trivial to retrofit them with yellow worded "KEEP CLEAR" words, surely that would help?
  5. The mile of cones is for the resurfacing that started last night. It was horrendous again today. Best bet is out Holme Lacy and round the back. MUCH longer but takes about 10 minutes. It was 45 minutes from Broadleys to Asda this morning

Is that what it was? I had a lot to do today and couldn't even get out of the estate. You just wait until they close that road for resurfacing (tomorrow?) for 2 weeks.
  7. I'm actually quite surprised how freely they use her his name on TV considering A: how PC TV is and B: What the name actually translates to
  8. To be honest, I don't think we should have to be sharing bins up and down the street because the coucnil can't be assed to run a proper service. I guess I could black bin bag it all but then it kind of makes a mockery of recycling. I'm meaning to check, I know if they miss you bin (which they do with mine regularly because they can't be assed to walk 2 meters) you can get a call out, I was going to check if you can get a callout for excess waste anyway - if so, we should all put in a pickup request every odd week that they're cutting ;)
  9. It's due this week, but I have this weeks recycling to go in as well, so when they empt it it's going to be fully again. I sure as hell won't be going to the tip with it, or do we have to pay them now for the privelage of getting rid of our own waste?! To be honest, it's been full to the brim so long I thought they missed it (AGAIN) and was about to put in a pickup request.
  10. What are we supposed to do about excess waste? My recycling bin is overflowing and I'm having to use carry bags full of rubbish around the house - but those bags won't fit into the green bin and I'm guessing they won't take it if it's placed on to or next to it. Any ideas what we're supposed to do?
  11. They've stated that their meat is British and sourced from within the country - no specifically Hereford or Hereford breed. You know, I've never thought about how our city, world renowned for it's beef, didn't have a steak house ;)
  12. Funnily enough, I was deliberately drowned by a fellow pupil at the LEA pool. Needless to say, there was quite the **** storm with the school. Roger, you have no idea https://goo.gl/maps/f3YNW
  13. Just for everyones information, when you send a "tweet" to another user; If you start the tweet with the user id, such as Roger did, the only people who see that tweet would be Roger, Debenhams and anyone who SPECIFICALLY searches for something that's contained in that tweet as well as... If the tweet starts with a user id, then in order for that tweet to appear in the regular home "feed" of a random user, the random user needs to be following BOTH the sender and the receiver (Roger and Debenhams) If the tweet doesn't start with a user id, then that will appear in the feed of anyone who follows the sender (Roger) and those who search for it. So starting with a user id limits the publicity. You can counter this, if you so choose, by starting with a normal word or even a fulls top, such as .@roger Or another way to look at it if I send the following, it appears to the following people; @Roger hello roger - me, roger and people who follow me AND roger .@Roger hello roger - me, roger and anyone who follows me hello @roger , how are you - me, roger and anyone who follows me Any of those will appear in the results of anyone who searches for "hello" or "roger" I use the .@user when I want to bring something to someone's attention AND I want other people to see it and chime in. So the tweet " .@Debenhams has a lot of smokers outside" would be seen by everyone who follows me who might agree and spread the word. Dippy, I'll leave out hashtags ;) Hope that helps
  14. I think the point of the railway station in Rotherwas is for out of city transportation of workers and visitors and to provide an industrial route for manufacturer materials and goods export..... if I'm wrong, then what the f*** are they doing? As for a gym, I don't see a problem with that, could be quite a good idea if done correctly, plenty of space and buildings. Anyone remember the LEA pool on Ross Road back in the day, when that was used for schools.
  15. I don't claim to know much about this type of twisted fiasco - probably not intended to either, But if it's run by the council then what's with the line "Durand Academy is a state academy - a school that is not under local council control " ?
  16. Personally, I would put that down to poor design and planning
  17. Nuh I saw one today That's absolute rubbish, 90,000 is half of the population of the entire county Some more maths, There are only 59,000 people living in Hereford 90,000 customers in 5 day is 18,000 people a day If we pretend that it takes only 2 minutes for someone to order, be served and coffee made, that would take 600 hours to serve people PER DAY (18,000 customers, 2 minutes each = 36,000 minutes / 60 = 600 hours) As for Debenhams - I don't recall even seeing a food place there, where is it? I did see (from outside) people seamingly wandering around the roof but couldn't see how they got up there As for the impact of a new store opening, let's put this into perspective, it's a shop and these people are working in a cafe, it's hardly Cheyenne Mountain or Cape Canaveral. A lack of motivation is common in many places in Hereford, even when busy there are a lot of shop staff who take things at a snails pace. I'm not saying people should be rushed off there feet, but moving with a purpose would be a start
  18. And out of interest, what happened to the subway? Did they fill it in or just cap the ends so future generations can find a secret tunnel?
  19. A few more things I noticed from today's venture; Why is it called Old Market when it's new and on New Market Street? heh Newmarket Street was heavy with traffic westbound. People aren't using the staggared crossing at the roundabout end - they are crossing the first half at the lights then walking in front of traffic for the second part instead of walking up the central area to the next crossing light Traffic on Edgar Street Southbound was great. Northbound was gridlocked up to Steels (4.30pm). The new lights at the Blackfriars entrance now allows for some creative navigation to get around the gridlock on Edgar Street (N)
  20. If it's privately owned and they produce results, I don't see a problem.
  21. I imagine it's more cost effective - until the council start(?) charging rates based on occupants and not units.
  22. I disagree. If you ran a business, would you want your staff standing at the front door smoking in their uniforms? Businesses have designated smoking areas and policies for a reason - it promotes professionalism
  23. Like I said, people have had franchises like coffee shops in book shops for years, but what we have here (on the OLM) is one unit/shop that houses 5-6 shops. That isn't something that has been common in the past but is noticebly coming into effect
  24. But when you go to the parking machine, how will they know which section you parked in?
  25. I think "shared space" is starting to make an impact in retail. There have been franchises within stores for a long time - like Starbucks in book shops. But looking at what is apparently OUTFIT on the OLM is Dorothy Perkins, Wallis, Burton... a lot of companies under one roof. I'm guessing that we're going to see an increase in this of the coming years
