It's far more likely that it's political, I've submitted press releases to them before that have been ignored and later picked up by the national press. If it doesn't fill their agenda or pockets, it seems that they don't want to know. Then it wouldn't be news :P Ah Jess Phillips, no guessing who her mother is ;) She has a history of writing articles about her friends, I would hazard a guess that she knows the winner.

Perhaps by traffic free they mean that traffic can't go in the lane? A solid border means cyclist only, a broken border means cars can use it as well ... obviously though, that has nothing to do with colour :P
-
I don't see how it couldn't be if it's all done and dusted - besides, it's a public interest piece. The HT refuse to report on details even when the BBC do it and I'd have a bet that the BBC know a lot more around the legalities of journalism than the HT does.

Stephen Hawking Visits Hereford - Gets Stuck in Pothole
Biomech replied to Biomech's topic in Open Forum
Interesting that the only result on Google is the exact same article from Worcester news https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=stephen+hawking+hereford&rlz=1C1ASUM_enGB507GB509&oq=ste&aqs=chrome.3.69i57j69i61j69i60j69i59j69i60j69i65.4382j0j7&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=122&ie=UTF-8 Interesting what tweaking someone elses post can do aye. -
Stephen Hawking Visits Hereford - Gets Stuck in Pothole
Biomech replied to Biomech's topic in Open Forum
Oh for christs sake, one of the greatest minds in the history of the human race appears in this **** hole of a city - nothing on the HT It was picked up by Worcester news, but there is, as of now, nothing on the HT website. Journalism at it's absolute worst -
Ok he didn't get stuck in a pothole, but he was here. Very disappointed that I didn't know and get the chance to see him. But I still bet he had problems with the roads and streets :P

I was going to ask the difference, but had a quick look online. It appears that cycle lanes can be coloured either green or red - but why do we have both in Hereford? Why is there no consistency? Clearly green would be the better option, but I see red in town and on some suburban roads and then I was down near Sainsbury's the other day and the cycle lanes are all green. So what's up with that?
-
Holy ****, I thought you meant the pavement, I drove down today (4 ******* hours to do 3 jobs in town, getting really ******* sick of it)... and it's the entire road! It seems.... stupid, bright read ffs, why? Do people not know that there's a road there?

Standard HT procedure, no comments, no names.

I'll buy it for £1 :P

Well they don't advertise very well, perhaps they could do with a marketing consultant :P

Correct me if I'm wrong, but May the 9th is the day after the May Fair leaves right? So how's this all going to work with Fair lorry parking, rides, construction equipment, workforce in the road etc etc? I;m guessing that no one has thought about the logistics. And, as I point out in another thread. How are all of those oversized fair rides and lorries going to get out of the new Kings Street pathway?

What's the deal with the central reservation on Newmarket Street? I was under the impression that it would all be yellow bricked/slabbed, but only a small part is and the rest is black tarmac, I though maybe that was a foundation but the tarmac comes up to the top of the curbs. Does it sink or get pressed cold? Or did they just run out of yellow bricks

At a guess, The Merton? I'm sure something similar happened before Christmas (although I can't be sure) I've always wondered where the women of the night are, I've never seen any around :P

That's extremely worrying.

Old Market - What's With All The Wood?
Biomech replied to Colin James's topic in Edgar Street Grid and Courtyard Theatre
hehe, made me chuckle -
I absolutely agree. No one indicates, uses roundabouts properly and certainly in Hereford there has been a big rise in running red lights, Compulsary 5 year retests I say.
-
In America, you can turn right on a red light if it's clear. I think this is a good idea. You basically use the traffic light junction as a normal junction, give way and pull out - right only - as you're not crossing lanes. Obviously over here it would have to be left only and you'd have to find some way to let people know that A: they can go if it's clear and B: that they can;t just pull out. People need to know and understand that above all else. Because you just know you'll get idiots thinking they can just pull straight out

Might put my bike back in the garage. ... he had to be flown out by helicopter due to his injuries. www.herefordtimes.com/news/11135534.UPDATE__Collision_involving_car_and_cyclist_in_Hereford_this_morning/?ref=var_0

What Roger said, no one wants to touch it with a barge pole. Investors don't want it because HC are killing the High Town with their new OLM HC don't want it because it would distract from their moving of the city centre to the OLM (why else would they fill it with shops that we already have after promising not to.)

Which one?

I heard on the radio that the fans have enough to pay the HMRC next week, deadline is Monday? Then what? Because with such a delay paying, the next bill can't be far off. And let's not forget corporation tax is only paid on profit, so unless they have to pay some other tax I'm not aware of, they are still pocketing money. Perhaps one of the people more interested in HUFC could clear that up. Assuming, of course, that that isn;t the problem - they've made the profit and pocketed ALL the money.

Old Market - What's With All The Wood?
Biomech replied to Colin James's topic in Edgar Street Grid and Courtyard Theatre
Maybe they are intending the wood to age and discolour. I don't know it was intentional but in the same way that the Statue of Liberty changed colour. But hey, getting actual answers out of people around here is damn near impossible. -
So, who's going to answer my repeated question about why a **** hole of a temporary accommodation is demanding over £800/month in rent when some of the nicest new houses ask for less than that. Myself and Roger have speculated, and I'm pretty sure we're spot on. But how about an actual answer?

I predict that the ground is being idly left with no real effort from those involved to save it. The ground will be bought up by developers within the next 10 years. I predict that the HUFC ground will be moved and such an announcement of news will occur within 1-5 years.
