Old Market - What's With All The Wood?
Biomech replied to Colin James's topic in Edgar Street Grid and Courtyard Theatre
I like wood, but yeah, it doesn't quite look right, it's missing something. But I also drove past and my initial thought was what it would look like after some time, normally goes green or a dirty grey unless treated properly - and we all know that you don't find "properly" and "Hereford Council" in the same sentence Absolutely agree, I've been asking this question ever since they went up but - no surprises - I never get a reply. Watch.... All councillors on this forum; what are those grey slats on the end of the OLM for? Will they be replaced with windows? Looks pretty aweful -
Is it free standing? I don't like the look of that, I won't be using it, much rather one built into the wall.

What's the bets that they put lights on that junction modification on Kings/Bridge Street next? lol
-
Having just driven down Edgar Street, around to Commercial Street and back.... Jesus Christ! Have you seen how many more traffic lights there are now? They are all over Edgar Street now, All down Blackfriars and another 2 sets on New Market Street. And you can bloody bet that after sitting on red lights for people to cross, you'll catch the next set at the roundabout - a mere 10 meters in front - just as they fade from green to red and have to sit and wait some more.

Cannot Purchase Hot Food In Hereford City After 1.30am

I don't care how they've done it, as far as I'm concerned they have a monopoly and it's anti-competitive- 291 replies

Old Market Brochure
Biomech replied to Colin James's topic in Edgar Street Grid and Courtyard Theatre
What they mean is farmers and industrial business owners. There's no money in Hereford. That's why most of my money comes from clients in Oxford, Birmingham, Manchester, Cardiff and London. Same for local business owners, they consult to clients outside of Hereford, local industrial types win contracts from outside of the county. (wood and metal fabricators, most of the people down Rotherwas, etc) And I don't believe for a second that within Hereford (not Herefordshire) there are more rich people than poor/benefits/smackheads/scroungers people -
Old Market Brochure
Biomech replied to Colin James's topic in Edgar Street Grid and Courtyard Theatre
There still won't be, the OLM largely consists of shops we already have moving in. H&M, Next, TKMaxx, Fat Face ,River Island.... All of the brand new names and lack of current shops moving in that we were promised - that was all bullshit -
Maybe they should do something about it then

Buckingham Pub To Become A Tesco Express
Biomech replied to Colin James's topic in Broomy Hill & Breinton
Vodka and Malteasers! I'll have to remember that one. I, too, can see why they would go in there and I think it would be very convenient to all of the people living in the surrounding area. It's quite densely populated and apart from that little old shop, it's quite a walk down to Whitecross roundabout. Not to mention that the newsagents at the top of the Monument hill has gone, much to my dismay last week as I pulled in for a drink ready for a long journey :P -
No doubt they will just let him go, that's what usually happens, 50 previous; bailed/cautioned again

Serious Armed Robbery Near Hereford Subway *UPDATE*
Biomech replied to Colin James's topic in Police & Crime
Thumbs up Roger, because I've ran out of my quota :P I know we've had problems, but they do seem to be causing a spike in crime. Murder, armed robbery, ATM skimming, muggings, theft, illegal tax imports under the counter, etc etc -
Serious Armed Robbery Near Hereford Subway *UPDATE*
Biomech replied to Colin James's topic in Police & Crime
I thought that might be the case dippy. Personally, I'd just run across the road, but I was thinking about those slow old hunched over old people. I agree, there are times when subways, paths, streets and roads need to be closed. The trouble with Hereford is when it happens, there's no alternative. Imagine if the new bridge had to be closed! -

Purely out of interest, how are people supposed to cross the road? -
You can see better to the left so that is good, the down side being that most of the things blocking your view are the parked cars down bridge street and they are still there. So yeah, you get a better angle to see, but it seem's unnecessarily narrow and bendy. I'm sure you could get a tank through there, but I have seen buses struggle

Noteworthy Hereford and Herefordshire personalities
Biomech replied to megilleland's topic in Open Forum
Really wouldn't surprise me as they scrape the barrel -
Hhrrmmm, the club WILL fall. This has been know by those in charge for a very long time now and yet nothing has been done to resolve the issue. It's almost as if they WANT it to fail. It's on a prime piece of land right next to a new development with plans to further develop....... just me thinking out loud, but this could be very lucrative for a certain set of people... Has there EVER been any talk about an alternative site for HUFC?

But you are, in fact, you're paying them to drag it down. I get that you're a big supporter and I'm not knocking that. I'm just saying that it isn't a great club, they have a history of bad management, they don't play well and now they are getting the fans to pay off their debts. If someone with a good management background was coming in to take over with better club management, better use of the grounds and better players, and they needed a little boost to get going, I'd support you. But as it stands, the fans are just throwing money at a failing club in order to allow it to continue to fail. To me that's just nonsensical You know what they say; "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different outcome"
-
... unless, of course, you want to pay my tax bill as well?
-
But they are always hundreds of thousands in debt, what are you expecting from this? Postpone administration for another week? If it takes the fans collecting every week just to keep the club going, it's clearly a dead horse. Take that money and invest it in a local league, amateur or youth football schemes. Just think what that money could do to help local football instead of paying off the clubs debts. It's almost like Tesco's failing to pay their tax and all of the shoppers gathering to pay it for them! A company has failed to pay the tax it knew it had to pay because of bad management, and they are getting you fans to pay it for them. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that is out of order. Don't let your passion blind you, this is ludicrous!
