Hereford Fire Station Planning Application
Aylestone Voice replied to Aylestone Voice's topic in Open Forum
The consultation response on the Council's website are gradually increasing. I am looking forward to see the response of the Council's Conservation/Historic Buildings Officer. I think that will give us a view as to whether any "fix" is being applied by management. -
Hereford Fire Station Planning Application
Aylestone Voice replied to Aylestone Voice's topic in Open Forum
There is not much in the replies from Councillors that is surprising. Those on the Planning Committee are properly reserving their opinion until they have a report at the meeting. Those not on it are really washing their hands because they really cannot influence the decision. If planning permission is granted then there would still be a slim chance to scupper it by the Council backing out of the deal which would be a Cabinet decision -
Decision notice. The Bullying of Disabled Council Staff

I have finally seen Bobby in action! To be fair to the Chairman - the event was aimed at a Q & A on the future development of the city and I can see why he ruled Bobby out of order. -

All planning applications on Council property have to go to Planning Committee - so no one called it in -
Whats with all the power cuts in St James?
Aylestone Voice replied to twowheelsgood's topic in Bartonsham
No Bobby you are incorrect. I have it on good authority that Western Power have concluded that as the vast majority of the residents in St James/Bartonsham are all hippies they can easily cope with candle power thus saving decent electricity for the rest of us!!!!! -

Has Guy ever talked about the Sportsman's Pub site at Widemarsh Common? -
I have not watched the video - is it Guy Taylor?

P142554/F Sorry I cannot get it to link to the Council site I also thought it should be a new topic

I should have known you would add your "hero" to this thread

Probably the case that Thorn is cheaper to run and cannot be sold whilst Brockington can Also moving all the IT servers etc. and reconnecting it all would cost quite a bit I guess I see no reason why it could not be converted to apartments as it is unlikely that there is an office business locally who would need a building of that size. I guess we will have to trust them to make the right decision

If this thread is about the Civic Trust Question Time on 17 September please remember that you ask the others questions as well. They will be:- Lucy Hurds - Lib Dems Liz Morawiecka - Here for Hereford Antony Powers - IOC This is a chance to ask serious questions about what they see as the future for the City and County. That is not to say that Councillors do not have to answer for the decisions they have made but for me what is done is done and lets look forward to a better future. I am not so much bothered about grass cutting as I am about what the LD's, H4H and IOC see as appropriate future development for us including the thorny by-pass issue. We know what the Tories want as it is in the Core Strategy. Also we could ask which party would carry on with privatising/outsourcing services and how they would control the runaway train that is spending on social care. If we are going to decide who is the best party to lead us after next May's elections then this is the time to start asking such questions.

It was the home for West Mercia Police before it went to South Herefordshire District Council As to its future I believe there is a covenant which would prevent any development in the grounds and also which restricts the price at which it can be sold

Proposed Residential Development to east of Aylestone Hill
Aylestone Voice replied to megilleland's topic in Planning
Aylestone Hill - refused Marden - approved Bartestree - refused -
Bobby - well said in your own inimitable way. I have been to all the home games this season, standing on the Meadow End where I have since 1965. The football is not of the highest quality but it is honest endeavour and much better than the tripe Davey, Pitman and Foyle served up. If I see you tethered to the floodlights have no fear there will be no rotten eggs or tomatoes from me just freedom for you. I just hope for your sake that if they do tie you up they manage to get you facing the pitch and not the OLM!!

Police Seize Cigarettes From 'Kurdish Owned' European Shop

Ubique - it is a well known fact that the HT "reporters" are not allowed to leave their office and do all their work from the internet!! -
They are just trying it out and it does not affect the operation of the FM in High Town

I would urge people not to support any event in which Keyte is linked and in this case he is part of Blake's Herefordshire Recruitment. He is primarily responsible for the predicament that HUFC finds itself in.

Titchmarsh excluded! = excellent

What is local? If I recall correctly when S & A Davies were a potato rather than soft fruit enterprise when they need to fill their orders the spuds came from eastern Europe but as they were packed in Marden they were deemed to be local. If you insist on local produce don't buy apples from South Africa, bacon from Denmark and wine from France!

Planning application P142315/F (why I just cannot copy and paste the link I don't know) I did some of my formative drinking in the British Oak usually before popping off to Edgar Street to see HUFC.

Tory party using council website for party political matter
Aylestone Voice replied to gdj's topic in Open Forum
Sorry - it really does not bother me. Surely there are bigger things to argue If it helps someone get a job then good luck to them -
It's wet outside so I thought I would start a new topic! Does anyone ever pay a ticket for parking on double yellow lines in the city? I would have thought that good a defence would be - I will pay when you start enforcing the double yellow lines in Bewell Street which are always clogged up with taxis. Every day that road is blocked and nothing is done. Surely this is more dangerous given the need for emergency vehicle access on a narrow road than parking on double yellow lines in Commercial Road. But is there one law for us and another for taxis?
-
Ah, but if on the shop doorway there was a sign stating that they do not give change on any purchase - how legal would that be?
-
Indeed - the Aylestone branch of the "vegetarians united liberation front" will have to find another Friday night local! That is until this new idea, just like O'Neills did, goes down the pan and it reverts to a pub with the original name of the Hop Pole!!

In fairness it was not the Council who cut down the lime trees in Edgar Street
