  1. A planning application from Premier Inn for a 65 room Hotel in Blackfriars Street has been submitted. A previous application for retail and flats on what was known as the Old Market Gateway looks to have been shelved. https://www.herefordshire.gov.uk/info/200142/planning_services/planning_application_search/details?id=174776&search=blackfriars%20street
  2. A woman in her 50's was found dead in a house on Highmore Street last night with the death being treated as suspicious. A man known to the woman was in collision with a minibus on Roman Road last night,Police are searching the area this morning and is still underway.
  3. The Hereford County Hospital has been sold to car park operator NCP in the first deal of its kind, although other such sales might soon become commonplace if all goes well according to City financial experts. From March all patients at the Hospital will face the prospect of feeding bedside meters at a rate of £25 per day for the duration of their illnesses, with outpatients attending clinics paying a fee upon arrival at reception desks and then topping up hourly if their appointment is running late. A team of wardens will be employed to monitor the new arrangements, with those patients staying beyond their allocated times being wheeled off the ward into adjacent corridors then transferred onto trolleys until they or their relatives stock up on credit again. A spokesman for for the trust said, ‘we see this as an exciting opportunity to reform hospital stays root and branch, as it will actively help to flush out work-shy and shiftless malingerers. No-one will want to stay with us if it’s costing them their hard earned cash, and bed-blocking will become a thing of the past. That’s the beauty of the free market in action.’ Health Minister Jeremy Hunt is said to be watching developments with considerable interest. A departmental source commented: ‘This is exciting stuff and rolling the concept out nationally just may be the answer to this never-ending Health Service conundrum.
  4. Sometimes you're well out of order Glenda. This post being one of them.
  5. Remember that proverb look before you leap? Maybe reading up about Halo would be a good idea.
  6. Have lived and worked in many Cities & Counties around the Midlands, been in their rush hr traffic etc and believe me we in Hereford really don't have that much to moan about traffic wise except the traffic lights.
  7. A great pub Bill.We also like the Moon at Mordiford & Hungry horse in Grandstand Road.
  8. Between me & missus we have probably been here well over 60 times in the last 11 weeks including this morning after my accident and various illnesses after accident. The missus bought me to hospital/a&e drop off then parked in Morrisons most of the time with their pay and display meters not working half the time. We probably saved well over £250 not parking in the hospital.
  9. Gent had passed out due to low blood sugar
  10. Look on the bright side..At least it won't smell of p**s when you are using it
  11. OLM is the bottle neck here.Until British land & Herefordshire Council sort out the stupidity having traffic lights here & a parking system that quite simply does not work, this problem will only get bigger once the university and houses etc etc are built. Having a small sign just as you turn into the OLM saying car park full is pathetic. Why not have these signs in Edgar Street & bottom of Blackfriars Street so people know it's full.Oh and a right turn into Merton car park for people coming into City along Widemarsh Street
  12. The road is not the problem Glenda the lights are just like 90% of the fekin things in this City.Always are and always will be. I see plenty of moans and groans about the traffic situation on social media but not one moan on the social media sites of Herefordshire Council etc. Until we stop beating each other up about the traffic and direct our complaints en mass to those in power nothing will be done...Nothing.
  13. Probably stolen looking at the registration plate still on trailer.
  14. Well I was stupid enough to think I could get a car park space in the Garrick Multi story earlier. I came the other way into Widemarsh St with cars all Trying to get into Blackfriars Street to park in the Old Market so I turned into the multi story .....Bad idea, there must of been dozens of cars tring to find a space with no joy so we spent 15 mins trying to get back out. Ended up going around in circles in the Gaol Street car park, gave up and went home
  15. The link road lights in Edgar st,footie ground car park,Widemarsh St & Morrisons-train station junctions are totally unnecessary. What was wrong with just installing roundabouts ?
  16. Yep & the entrance needs two lanes to the ticket machines one for traffic turning left and one for traffic turning right.
  17. Traffic trying to get into Blackfriars Street to go to the Old market Glenda.Same problem in Widemarsh Street. Traffic lights need removing and a better way to get into the Old Market without having to wait for a ticket right next to the entrance .
  18. Its open now, just drove down to Morrisons
  19. To the side of Mortimer house in Mortimer Road. I think this is more Mortimer Road than Burcott road.
  20. A trampoline arena together with a cafe & five B1 business units have been given the go ahead on the old Joseph Ash site in Burcott Road. They will use and adapt the existing buildings on the site for the trampoline arena and build a cafe & five B1 use units.
