  1. Well done, Cambo! I take it the lines of communication were cut at this point...??
  2. I did indeed Cambo! Two years is nothing, in the scheme of things. This is just an excuse. I bet that they never, for one minute, thought there would be this amount of opposition. I absolutely respect what Mark says about picking battles, but I don't think this one is quite over just yet!
  3. Unbelievable. At what point, do we say - enough is enough? When are folk going to wake up to what's happening here? Surely its not just us lot that can see this for what it is, are people really so apathetic that they are prepared to allow this sort of thing to continue? It beggars belief. These people have no shame, no moral compass, and absolutely no interest in Hereford or its inhabitants. They care only for making as much as they can, covering their own backs, and moving on to the next little earner funded by us, the tax payer! It is relentless. It has to be stopped.
  4. Hi John, glad you have asked this, it was going to be my question! Time is obviously pressing, so maybe we'll get an answer soon......??!
  5. What a day! Only just got in from work and I see there is a lot to catch up on! I have a feeling we may have to convene an extraordinary meeting of The Mendacious Oddities in order to plan our next move! This is most definitely not over yet my friends!
  6. Hi Two Wheels, the letter from Marcelle Lloyd Hayes, you mention above, is this on line? I have spent a silly amount of time trying to find it, with no success!
  7. Evening Cambo, no I can't hear her dulcet tones yet either!! Things are never straight forward are they?? Roll on Friday night.....its been a VERY long week!!
  8. I am really sorry to hear this. Mark has done so much for this city, we owe him a debt of gratitude. He, more than anybody, made me personally realise, that you CAN make a difference to where you live. He's an inspiration. We may not win all the battles, but at least we are now in fighting mode, no longer content to meekly accept all that is dished out. I wish Mark well, in whatever he does next, and I'd like to thank him, very much, for everything that he has done. (And the next time, some of us mendacious oddities meet up, you may find yourself on the guest list!)
  9. I think many folk think of prostitution as the "oldest profession in the world." Women on street corners, chewing gum, and smoking whilst waiting for a regular punter. Think about young girls, forced into this way of life. Think about a life where you have no choice, and certainly don't make any money. Think about there being no conceivable escape route from this life. Think, abuse. That is what this is. I am pleased that this establishment has been raided, and maybe this miserable existence may end for a few. Some people may be surprised that here in Hereford we even have issues like this. Sadly, we absolutely do. Their lives are lived under the radar of most folks. Any initiative that highlights this serious issue, and can bring those who profit from these vulnerable girls to book, should be applauded.
  10. I am.........speechless. Where, precisely, does this leave us now?
  11. I am so glad I asked for a link to be put up to this HT story, and so pleased that both Two Wheels and Megilleland obliged, as a little over 48 hours after this article went up, it has now disappeared from online. Beyond ridiculous. And it never got onto the most commented list, even though two other "stories" had less comments. What is the thinking behind churning out rubbish, that bumps genuine news??
  12. That sounds more like a medical term - and not a very pleasant one either!
  13. It's true! It's all completely true! I was there, I witnessed this incredible phenomenon! And, to coin one of Bobby's phrases, anyone who says I didn't see it, was probably sat in the corner observing how much red wine I had consumed!! John Venn's ghost - now there's a thing you wouldn't want to be messing with!
  14. GDJ! What a fabulous post! I almost fell off the sofa laughing when I saw the image Megilleland so kindly supplied! A really interesting read,"conserving and enhancing the historic environment." Sadly, our council seem to fall at the first point. It was they who have allowed The Boys Home to fall into a state of disrepair. It is their own negligence. They bend the rules to suit themselves. I am mightily cheesed off with this cabinet of ours. Whatever the outcome, they quite simply have to go. They need to be put on a "surplus" list themselves.
  15. Hi Sophie, what a dreadful thing to be happening. Apparently, anti freeze has a sweet taste, which is why many pets will eat it. Knowing the deadly effects - even to humans - this is an extremely stupid, cruel and heartless thing to do. I would hope you can spread the word about this, through this forum. Put a stop to this, and maybe catch the culprit.
  16. Thanks for the update Robert. It sounds like an extremely bleak picture doesn't it? I cannot understand why they find it such a difficult concept to grasp. Fix it properly, once - or do the same repair time and time again....but then, my understanding of "council maths" has never been that good!
  17. Amen to that! As the Mighty Grid Knocker would say!
  18. Oooh!! A protest! Sounds like my kind of plan Bobby!
  19. Next May, Cambo...all of this has got to change. Come the elections, this cabinet have got to go. People are sick and tired of the deceit and the excuses. The people of Hereford deserve so much better than this. I have said for ages, that difficult decisions will still have to be made, but for crying out loud, let's at least have some folks at the top table who will actually engage with those who voted them in. This is where I make another heartfelt plea to Mark Hubbard ........we need to keep hold of the good guys!
  20. I don't get this....how long would it take to erect a few bus stands? Then, inform the public that the station has moved just up the road? Job done. A fully functioning bus terminal! How hard can this be? This is an excuse, and a pretty poor one at that! Consider when the May Fair comes to town, and all the temporary measures that have to be put in place then, for just three days. Yet every year, its done. I cannot fathom why resiting the bus terminal should be beyond the realms of possibility.
  21. If we were in the Good 'Ol United States of America, we'd say "Team work makes the dream work!!" But we're not. So we won't. Well done everybody!
  22. Hi Glenda! Its on Page 9 of this thread, post number 210! You will see from the comments, that I don't hold Pat in high regard either! She should have resigned. Simple. I am hopeful that come next year, folk will remember, and not re-elect her.
  23. Thanks so much Megilleland! I have changed the rules , I now have two Favourite Posters Of The Day!! We are now on Page 15! This is truly brilliant! If nothing else, this shows that we are no longer going to take these ridiculous decisions lying down! We WILL challenge! We WILL kick up a fuss! We WILL not be silenced! This is OUR city, and we will do our best to hand it over to the next generation in a better state than its in now! Dear Lord! I am so fired up about this....I may have to have another glass of wine! (Medicinal purposes!)
