  1. Two Wheels, you are just brilliant! You are now officially my Favourite Poster Of The Day!
  2. Actually, now I think about it, would somebody be able to post a link to the HT update? It only went online yesterday, but is already in danger of being bumped off the page - ridiculous situation! HT actually have a news story, and it will disappear from view in favour of a piece about mutant daisies!
  3. I am sooooo pleased about this! Well done Bobby, and everybody else who played a part! This is the very best outcome we could have wished for. I am delighted your perseverance has paid off! RESULT !!!!!!
  4. Page 9, Glenda - post 210!! Click on the blue link......Unfortunately comments are now closed, otherwise I can think of a few more that could well have been added given recent events!
  5. Hi Glenda! I only posted it last night, so I shall pop over to HT and have a look! I am none too keen on the "Thumb Vote", but somewhere on this thread Megilleland kindly posted a link to Patricia Morgans letter, the comments underneath far surpassed 17!! Have a read through, it will make you chuckle! Thanks for posting your support on here, it's great to have councillors publicly state where they stand on issues such as this.
  6. Hi Mark, as far as I am aware, these page views have been clocked up by many visitors to this thread, not just the members who have visited - I am sure Colin could clarify/confirm this! Hope all is well with you, please update us if ,you have any news! Thanks so much for your continuing support and contributions!
  7. I would like to add my support for that suggestion, Grid Knocker. Where has the transparency been? And if this deal does get pushed through, a deal which to my mind does not provide "best value" to the tax payer, where will this all end? Next, the black and white house! Maybe The Cathedral! What about The Town Hall building? All valuable assets. We need to protect this building - let them know, we aren't going to let this pass quietly!
  8. Thanks for that GK! And thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread. I am overwhelmed by the support that this subject has attracted! One final push folks....and we could get a result with this!
  9. Right then! I still think one final push ahead of Thursdays meeting would be worthwhile! Please take the time to email the following, with a polite, heartfelt plea, that this irreplaceable building is saved. We simply HAVE to give this a go, and make our feelings known - remind them there's an election looming, they really do need to be seen to be doing the right thing. It doesn't matter if your personal take on this is that the Boys Home is converted for housing, or you feel the bus station would be a better alternative site for the fire station....just email and say how you feel!! Here is the list.....please be aware, in case my typing takes on a will of its own, they are all lower case EXCEPT Anthony Powers! Here goes... 1. hbramer@Herefordshire.gov.uk 2. tjames@herefordshire.gov.uk 3. ajohnson@herefordshire.gov.uk 4. pmorgan@herefordshire.gov.uk 5. grahampowell@herefordshire.gov.uk 6.pprice@herefordshire.gov.uk 7.aseldon@herefordshire.gov.uk 8. AnthonyPowers@herefordshire.gov.uk Phew! That's the list....now we need to hit that email......let's try and do a mass inbox explosion on Wednesday evening! Good luck.....and remember guys, be careful out there!!
  10. If this is true....then can somebody please explain why this meeting is being held? This whole issue has been conducted behind closed doors, with little or no consultation. It's nothing short of a disgrace. This isn't democracy. Its a farce.
  11. Evening Colin! I agree with you....I don't think it will take three years though, I think it looks pretty rubbish already!
  12. Well Roger......you're not the first to suggest that!! I don't make a habit of it.....but when you need cash fast, I'm afraid that's the closest one for me! My point being, that I think ALL cash points should be free - nobody should have to pay to withdraw their own money!
  13. I would have thought perhaps the King Street/Bridge Street area of the city was more in need of a cash point, I don't think there are any along there! I am just pleased it doesn't charge.....it infuriates me that the cash point at the garage on White cross Road charges £1.99, to take out my OWN money! It really is daylight robbery!
  14. Holy Macaroni Biomech! I can practically see the steam coming out of your ears! I think we should attach you to a blood pressure monitor, and make you drive this route again - then, upon seeing the results, we can officially declare that traffic lights in Hereford can seriously damage your health! If the powers that be refuse to remove them, plan B is to ask Bobby for a few of his diazepam!
  15. Blimey! It looks worse than ever - hard to believe any "repairs" have taken place along here!
  16. Crikey! It doesn't matter from which direction you view The Five Pointless Points, they still look incredibly ugly. I have always been an advocate of the aesthetically healing properties of a well stocked and colour co-ordinated hanging basket! Sadly, there is no floral arrangement in the world that can camouflage that!
  17. "Of course there's nothing boring about "us",this site or any of the views expressed upon these pages." You speak for yourself Bobby! Whilst your posts are never boring - I must hold my hands up, Guilty as charged! Last December, Our Glenda started a thread "River Wye Flood Warning." Over the course of about an hour, I posted six, yes six, weather related updates!! I have just had the painful experience of re-reading them.....watching paint dry would have been more exciting! We've all posted the odd comment without perhaps reading it through properly.....Silent bull as Bobby says, is as good as gold. I honestly think the true intention of his post has been mis-read!
  18. Do you know what strikes me? We have here, two extremely community minded people. Two people who give up their time, and energy to help out others. Glenda has many years experience under her belt, and Smartieno1's enthusiasm and single mindedness in getting his new venture up and running cannot be faulted. I am sure they both have the appreciation of many, for their assistance with problems. Is there not a way they could work together?? To enhance what the other has?? I am sure together they could be a formidable force for good. Would this not be a better way forward folks??
  19. Good Grief GDJ! You don't think I sit here tippy tapping away at this keyboard? Heavens no! I merely voice my thoughts and opinions aloud, and a minion types them for me!!! Isn't that what we all do....being so fabulously wealthy...???
  20. Get there early "H", the crowds of folk waiting to see Herefords Mayor opening a supermarket will be unprecedented! News helicopters will be hovering overhead, Sir Trevor McDonald will be reporting live, and the police will be armed with tasers that they ain't afraid to use, should the mass of people become over excitable! Just to be on the safe side - you should camp out the night before!!
  21. This has got me thinking, Grid Knocker. I am quite sure that there are a number of folks who will have plenty of time on their hands come May 2015. Several names spring To mind suprisingly readily...... Now, I can't personally vouch for what sort of travelling companions they'd make, if they have plenty of sparkling conversations, witty remarks or razor sharp humour.....but I do know that I would like them to be as far away from Hereford as possible! Sooooo.......is there a way we can check to see if Jarvis, Johnson, Morgan et al have up to date passports??? Blimey...I'd even be there to wave them off!!
  22. Was Liz Hurley also unavailable?? What about Richard Hammond?? Or John Challis??? No? Oh well. The Mayor it is then. How extremely exciting.......!
  23. It will be those odd, mendacious types I expect Two Wheels!!
  24. Good Lord! That it's come to this.....even the nations favourite agony aunt has had to resort to violent tactics! (That conflict resolution training Deirdre was sent on, clearly hasn't helped...but the assertiveness course was money well spent!) I've seen the size of Deirdre's handbag....Neill and Featherstone don't stand a chance!
  25. TK Maxx still have posters up in there, almost empty, store proclaiming that they will close on April 16th - and open at the Old Market on Thursday 17th!! Maybe they should sign up to Hereford Voice! I asked a member of staff, and they were completely unaware that a delay in opening was on the cards!
