You won't die from a bit of disinfectant Roger! I am always impressed by how clean this place always appears to be, and its great that food is prepared and cooked in front of you! Wyevale Garden Centre - now they could learn a lesson - last summer, lots of nice looking fresh cream cakes under there chilled display shelves.....but lots of flies under there too! Yuck! I shall never eat a cake there again!!

Hi Bethlouise! A very warm welcome to you! I have it on good authority that the kebabs from the Charcoal Grill in Commercial Road, are the best in Hereford! I have only sampled their veggie burgers, which are pretty good, and they do a home delivery service - minimum purchase £10.00!!

Chortle chortle Magicroundabout! I had heard previously about vote rigging with regard to the thumb vote on HT, but had never thought about how it was done, or could be done! I am a simple soul - and technically speaking, completely incompetent, so when I asked Roger the question, and the words mobile phone and i-pad, where contained in his reply, I now understand! I own neither!! When I first started posting on here, Colin even had to edit my posts for me on a few occasions! Things have improved slightly since then!! I am highly suspicious of the HT moderator.....rumour has it, he contributes to the Letters page on a fairly regular basis....I shall say no more, or I will join the list of The Banned!!

We should maybe start a thread highlighting good or bad customer service! It would be quite interesting to hear about peoples experiences!

I love your sense of humour Biomech - absolutely no offence taken!! A quick look at HT today, shows just 30 comments on line.....pretty poor!! At this rate they won't need the services of a moderator!!

Agree with you about Currys. The last purchase from there was a washing machine after ours could not be resuscitated!! The sales staff were nowhere to be seen - we then got passed from one person to another when we did find somebody! The person who ended up serving us knew nothing about the product as they "usually work downstairs"!! Seemed far more interested in trying to get us to purchase additional insurance cover.....which I persistantly declined!!

Along with Chave and Jacksons opticians, my old Mums been told that Rayners opticians are also closing. Nice to see that Cocos Vintage has relocated to Church Street, but that does mean that there is another empty unit in Maylords.

Oh! Forgot what I was originally going to say! Blimey, must be having a senior moment! Roger, what figures are these out of interest? The HT publish weekly figures in the printed copy.....are the ones you speak of different? This weeks figures - 1.Weekly circulation - 30,612. 2.Readers every week - 83,453. 3.Unique users at herefordtimes.com - 110,280. They are usually to be found underneath the Opinion piece in the Letters section....page 31 this week!!!

Have to say though, when you look at a thread of comments, the positive votes seem to far outweigh the negative ones, so that's a pretty good indication that folk don't just down vote willy nilly as a rule! As Colin has said, if he saw a pattern of mis-use he would put a stop to it! (Unlike the HT moderator....who many of us suspect has his own agenda!!)

How on earth can the vote be fiddled on HT ??? I thought it was one vote and that was it! What I disagree with mostly on there,is that anybody and everybody can vote. At least on here you have to be a member,which means the chances are you have taken the time at some point, to join in with a discucussion. With the HT, a miserable little thumb appears, mostly from folk who can't be bothered to make a contribution! Grrr! That does make me cross! If you have a point to make - type it!

This does sound horribly familiar Biomech. I love Cheltenham - the mix of shops,the lovely coffee shops and veggie eateries! The atmosphere just walking around there is fantastic,and it just seems to flow,for want of a better word, as you wander around. The big draw,as a choice of shopping destination, is the excellent park and ride service. It's brilliant! I really hope that Cheltenham doesn't lose it's identity, as Hereford centre seems destined to.

Hi Pauline! You are not alone...I didn't know about this when I joined,Biomech had to point it out to me! I don't know if you read the HT comments,but the votes are the thumb up \ down equivalent!! Don't let this put you off posting,its always lovely to hear new posters points of view we don't always agree,but hey ho,that's life,and things are usually posted with good humour! Thanks for reminding me of this Biomech,now that you've said, I do recall reading that somewhere - on here most probably!This would make the situation even more daft, imagine if you couldn't get a bag of chips in Commercial Road,yet stagger around the corner to the OLM, and they were all open and serving ! I know this is all ifs and buts, but with our council,it's exactly the type of situation I can see arising!
