Old Market Hereford
dippyhippy replied to Colin James's topic in Edgar Street Grid and Courtyard Theatre
I wonder what time the multi screen cinema will be open until? Do they have very late night screenings?(I haven't been to the cinema for years and years - tend to go the Courtyard screenings!) With all these eateries opening up within the OLM, who would I guess want the trade from the cinema goers, now really would be the time to look again at this issue of when hot food can be served! By the way, anybody else noticed that the salt they cleaned off the walls is making a comeback?? Looks worse by the day.....- 185 replies

Out of interest, have you signed the "No confidence in Herefordshire Council" petition, that was started by Neil Jeffery?? It began about 6 months ago, and I think as the rules stand, it has to gather around 7000 signatures before the council will consider acting on it. I believe this figure is a percentage of the Herefordshire population - could be wrong, feel free to correct me anybody who knows for certain!! I haven't heard if this managed to maintain momentum.....anyone in the know, an update would be great!
-
Sounds a really positive thing! I'll have a look at the website!

Thanks for the update Two wheels,no doubt this project will come in on time and within budget! Looking at the list again, I suppose Bath Street will also have to be removed?

I wish you well with this role Chris, it's not going to be an easy task. You have my full support, should you need to go into battle on behalf of this vulnerable group of people, who all too often have no voice to represent them.

I take it that Blackfriars is now off the list, as the council have vacated it for the Robert Owen school. Does this mean we will now be made welcome at their new home on Whitecross Road??? Anyone know when the planned re-furb of the Shire Hall is scheduled to take place? At least those toilets will be in a central position!!

Bravo Bobby! If we all followed your example, Herefords economy would be thriving! Your Granny, God rest her soul, would be delighted to know that all those mornings spent at Sunday School have had such a positive impact on your life!

Pacamac and wellies at the ready....it's going to be rough in the morning! And.....might need a bump start!! It all adds to the fun....honestly!
-
Now that would be telling, Ubique! I shall be round first thing to plan the route!! You do know how to use a sat nav don't you?? It goes without saying that I haven't got a clue! Pack for all weather....it's going to be a long trip!
-
Wrong! We are all off for a nice little holiday in my camper van! Somewhere warm, somewhere sunny......somewhere where folk haven't forgotten what a sense of humour is!! Take care!
-
Bobby! I need some clarification! The title of your piece "A Defiant Last Posting Of Complete Codswallop!" Do you mean your last post, as in ever......??? Or your last nonsensical tripe laden post....??? Have to say, either would be a great loss....but there's always HT!! (Colin and Biomech - please note, correct use of the underlining tool, and not an italic in sight!!)
-
Tee Hee !! Very good, Ubique!

Hmmm! What about a hamster with a very nasty streak? Pointy, sharp gnashers, that he's not afraid to use, and no redeeming features to speak of? Would one like that appeal to her..???
-
Mrs. Ubique sounds like a very good sort! Would she take in a slightly befuddled tortoise...????
-
Blimey! Two furniture shops opening then! I see from an earlier post (page 1.) that Subway and the premises next to it are also to be a furniture store. If that's the case, good news!
-
Good choice Bobby! I think I'd come back as a tortoise......a little slow getting there, but slow and steady wins the race! A nice hard shell, to deflect anything unwanted,( comments or otherwise!) and a tasty vegetarian diet! I'd also get to hibernate through these long, cold, dark months and wake up when spring is in the air! Yes! An optimistic tortoise would be my reincarnation of choice!

Excellent point, Harry!

I have a particular affection for chapter two! Whenever I am in The Plough, I always raise a glass to the night out that never was, but should have been! -
You're quite right, Two Wheels, they did!

Cloudberry, I think The Left Bank would make a wonderful craft village - we have many, many artists within our county, and collectively bringing their work and skills together would be fantastic! A craft village, café and a space for local music events could be a wonderful use of this beautiful space. It really is a crime that it's empty.

I think this is a great idea Grid Knocker! I have long thought Tourist Information and the library should share premises, to save money, and hopefully jobs - your take on this situation ticks SO many more boxes, it's inspired!! Hope everyone had a great New Year last night, and aren't suffering from the consequences too much today!
