Hereford City council By-election in Belmont ward
dippyhippy replied to Jim Kenyon's topic in Open Forum
I am sure someone will be able to give a fuller explanation, but this is for the City Council....so a bit different! -
Good Grief GridKnocker! Are you sure you've got this right?? Alternate Wednesdays on the roof of the multi storey car park? This will coincide with the fortnightly meeting of Hereford Jumpers Association (Sponsored by The Edinburgh Woollen Mill) This could all get very messy indeed....... (P.S. Can't believe Fffffiona wouldn't publish your letter!! What's that?? Oh, She's not publishing anybody's letter, at least not online!!)

Cheers Two Wheels! -
A quick email to those nice folk at Positive Hereford, has confirmed that they would happily substitute the bouquet of flowers for a multi pack of Carlsberg Special Brew, should you prefer this option!

Jim, can you tell us who the two prospective candidates are?? And is there a date for this by-election yet? -
Further PROOF that Hereford is stuck in the 1800's
dippyhippy replied to Biomech's topic in Open Forum
I walk up through High Town some mornings around 7ish, and half the lights that we do have aren't on! I think 2 strings going across by Laura Ashley are lit up, but as you carry on towards McDonalds, they are off! Is this just in the morning, or are they not on in the evening too???? Ledbury usually looks pretty, and as you say, The Cotswolds. They have the right idea!!! -
Brilliant Ubique! I hope both you and Mrs Ubique thoroughly enjoy your celebrations, and have a great time! 50 years.....Wow! That's amazing!

Bobby - you truly are a fine and upstanding member of the community. You have highlighted this issue to many who may have been going about their lives completely unaware of the shocking increase in this ,albeit free, passtime. What you haven't mentioned, because I know you don't like to blow your own trumpet, is how you have selflessly given up many, many evenings and untold hours of your time, to investigate this unsavoury activity. Watching and waiting in order to gain the evidence that you need. You have my utmost respect. As a community, we need to publicly say "Thankyou." I am thinking a nomination to Positive Hereford, so that that nice Mr. Nenaditch can send you some flowers........!!!!!!

This does sound sensible - almost too sensible for our council to ever consider! I know nothing about this Grid Knocker, but like you, would be keen to hear more. What I do think, is that after the disasters surrounding the County Hospital, I would have thought the letters PFI, would have made a chill wind run through anyone with an ounce of common sense! -
Breaking News There Will Be No Coalition In Hereford!
dippyhippy replied to Colin James's topic in Open Forum
Well said Jim! -
Biomech, I thought they had toilets in Dunelm, by the coffee shop bit upstairs? Also, try Paperstation in Malvern for all your office bits and pieces, they are really good price wise, and do next day delivery....they even make up any flat pack furniture you may purchase, and put it in the room you want, even if that room is five floors up! They have a web page! Ubique! Where has your profile picture disappeared to??

Further PROOF that Hereford is stuck in the 1800's
dippyhippy replied to Biomech's topic in Open Forum
Yes Victor, I think whichever way you view it - this is one ugly building. I think that 1970's style blue and pink wall cladding would be an improvement on this. It's an eyesore, and it isn't even open yet. -
Well.....has the result been announced, or is the count continuing????

Blimey! It'll easily out do our Christmas Lights in High Town! Fourteen..??? That's completely excessive.....one would be one too many! They don't give two hoots about light pollution...they have already proved that. -

Oh Two Wheels! I was just asking about the illuminated signs that you mentioned on another thread! The Hereford stuck in the1800's thread! How peculiar is that!? -

Where are these large illuminated signs going to go that Two Wheels mentioned the other week? He said they were going to be enormous! Another highly attractive feature....we really are being spoilt! -

Yes, I read about this - it's going to be the Gateway by all accounts. Soooo, a new build that resembles a prison, a listed pub and an oak framed gateway....anybody else think this is a bit of an odd mix? I'm sure with the addition of a few hanging baskets we'll all think it looks just lovely.........!! -
Emergency Vehicles Struggle In Hereford Traffic
dippyhippy replied to Colin James's topic in Open Forum
Absolutely Denise -can't see many folk walking/cycling fro there!! Well, all the more reason to start thinking differently about how we manage traffic flow in Hereford. If anything Colin, this adds even more weight to your campaign. -
You most certaintly may Biomech! I will get there...eventually,and to be honest, when I don't, it's only me that gets irritated!!

Ah Bobby! Now it all becomes crystal clear! Actually, I had to contact Liz Hurleys agent about an entirely different matter - see Poll Name Thread - and whilst chatting about Liz's availability, he dropped into the conversation that both Shane and Liz were huge fans of pole dancing, and could now writhe up and down anything that resembled a pole! "Even a drainpipe" I asked, a little incredulously.... "Especially drainpipes!" came the reply......."Liz gets a leg up from Shane, then they're both away" So I am very sorry that I ever doubted you Bobby! I will never question again! -

Bobby, the thought of Liz and Shane shimmying up your drainpipe kept me awake last night. I can see Shane having the upper body strength to heave himself up to your fourth floor bedroom...but Little Liz?? Are you quite sure it wasn't Shane tapping at your window, and Liz was hanging onto his ankles, crying "Come back to me, this fool will only break your heart!!" Hmmm......I wonder!!
